She's About To..........#14

Central, AL(Zone 7b)

Good morning everyone, welcome Sandra_D. Your grandbaby is absolutely precious, I can imagine it'd be wonderful for me to be a granma just for one day...

Lu thanks for your compliment on previous thread. lol, congrats to you as the new brug's momma. I'm so glad Aurea Pink turns out so beautiful.

Here I've a pink noid brug to bloom this morning. This cutting was potted last fall. It's now roughly 9 feet tall and almost just as wide spreading. A very virgourous growing brug in our hot/humid South zones.

Hi all you Hotties!!! Wow I am so into these comments about my grand baby that I forget to thank people who have made it a point to answer my questions. Thanks AuntB for helping clear up the confusion with the dats and thank you everyone who comments on Amiyah. I wanted to get on first thing this morning but by the time Amiyah was awake, we were off to the Doctor. Sadly, somewhere along the way someone had that potentially fatal staph called (MRSA) and transmitted it to Amiyah. I noticed symptons last night and gave her a bath in Hibiclens but the outbreak this morning was worse than I have ever seen it. Although I have custody of my gb, by court order her mom and dad (not together) have visitation rights and she was with her other grandmother and her dad over Labor Day Weekend for 4 days and this happens again. hmmmmmm. Well now visitation has ceased until everyone involved gets tested and treated. This is her TENTH time in her little short life and it breaks my heart to see her have to get pricked over and over again so they can culture it. So not to be putting a damp note on this hotties thread, I am sure she will be just fine. I am going to have to go all the way back up the thread to find out what I was missing.

Sandy

Central, AL(Zone 7b)

Oh Sandra, I'm quietly praying for Amiyah's health.
Kimbob.

(Cathy), MO

I don't know much about the infection Sandra, but have heard it can get rough. Can they completely get rid of it once you have it or does it just lay dormant inside waiting to pop back out again???

(Kim) Philadelphi, PA(Zone 6a)

Hello Hotties!! I will say a prayer for your GB Sandra. Beautiful blooms Lu and Kimbob : ) My puter has to go in for repair : (

Sandra, praying for your GD!! I think that is a wonderful thing that you are providing a good life for her! One of my best friends adopted her GS and he is having a great life! He still calls her Grandma, but they can provide everything for him.
I finally took a pic of my first buds. They are about an inch long and I count twelve so far! I found a couple milkweed aphids enjoying them, but they picked the wrong buds to get close to!! LOL

Hello all hotties
Yipppppppppppie, buds for Becky and Louise so happy for you hotties, hope they don’t take forever the wait is awful. Lu, you have one gorgeous pink bloom, happy happy happy, the first bloom is the best. Kimbob your pink noid is georgeous, 9 ft in one year, wow that baby must like it hot. Kim your neighbor is so lucky that is a beautiful view. Louise those plants are gorgeous, love them, I’ve tried several times with peacock orchids and never got one to bloom before frost. Phyllis that darn wind, your poor topless babies, so sad. Now you need to root the tops so you can have more burgs.
Sandra, so sorry to hear about your GD, such a beautiful little doll. Thank god she has you to care for her, I will be praying for both of you.
Thanks to all for the tips on rooting an fert., Joyce I like your rooting process, sounds like something I can do.
The winds will be a blowen here tomorrow, this is one hot sweaty hottie here. Tonight my name should be Mohamed. I agree with AuntB TGIF.

Just got back from Urgent Care. Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers but I can't stay tonight. I have to take care of Amiyah. She'll be Okay but I got scared when I saw her tongue full of white spots so we took her into Urgent Care. I am pooped, she is in pain, but she will be fine. She now was diagnosed with Thrush. Wow! Never had heard of it and basically it is Hand, Foot and Mouth disease. Well I aint pointing no fingers and it looks worse then it is, it is a virus that is yeast based and is contracted usually by playing with infected kids AND licking dogs. She was with her father and the other Grandma from last Friday to Monday evening and I have witnessed her letting her little dog lick and lick or in her words "kiss" Amiyah on the lips. NO MORE! Thank you again, my new found Hotties. Talk with you soon. This was Amiyah yesterday. I usually wouldn't do this but this is what "Thrush" looks like. She will be Okay! Sorry if this grosses anyone out.

Sandra, so sorry about you GD. She sure has had her set of problems at her young age. Perhaps she has some immune issues? Maybe a good internal doc is in order.
What a lovely brug bloom!

South Coast, RI(Zone 6b)

Oh I wish my nose work, so jealous here; I’d love to smell them. Beautiful Lu

Sandra, I’ve heard of thrush, my mother was always worrying about it but I’ve never seen it before. It just breaks my heart to see a little one in pain.

Athens, PA(Zone 5b)

Thanks lav, your pics are lovely too!I am getting a bit obsessive over this one bloom. I just want to post this one more pic of it and then maybe, just maybe I can quit posting the same bloom over and over and over, although I may have to get more blooms to stop it☺

rightly so. i love that flower! waaa I am getting stomped in phase ten!

(Karen) Frankston, TX(Zone 8a)

Oh Sandra, that hurts to look at it! Poor baby girl....My oldest daughter had a yeast infection as a baby that looked just like that....I know she is prob on oral meds but if they have it in your area get her some "Boudreaux's Butt Cream" baby ointment. I swear by that stuff for just about everything....It will sooth, protect and stop any itching....Kiss her for us and teach her to say no NO! and put her hands out when they dog tries to "kiss" her...

(Becky) Colmesneil, TX(Zone 8b)

Sandy.. I don't know about babies.. but I know adults can get thrush when they are under huge amounts of stress. What kind of environment is she in when she visits her other family? Yes.. that butt paste works great.. even on the diaper rash it's designed for!

Lu.. go ahead and post another pic..lol I am dying to see IF my buds make it to a bloom!! I am soo afraid they will fall off!!
Louise.. I have a bad problem here!! Every pic ya'll post makes me want to go out and buy the same thing!!..LOL I saw those here and they had marked them down to $4 a piece.. and I "almost" got some but didn't.. now I am kicking myself.. I didn't know they were fragrant..

Kim.. I sure hope you have another puter, since you have to put it in the shop!!

NE, KS(Zone 5b)

(((((((((((((Amiyah and Sandy))))))))))))))) Hugs from me, I hope you both get some rest and a better day tomorrow... I love how you worded that, Lu! Ditto from me. I got busy at work, groceries and outside... So much can happen in a few hours... I've been out in the "brugdom"... I expanded their "area" 2X this year, and the baby ones have moved in and it's crowded... feels like a jungle.. Hotties, Hotties! (even sweaty...especially ;) sweaty ones) These BLOOMS and buds you've posted! Becky, I can't wait for you to have blooms! I can't wait for everyone to have some! The surprise ones are the best cause it cuts down on the wait time.. really! lol I like the smell descriptions, very nice, musk and baby powder.. that is a gorgeous plant, Louise! Strong and delicious... I have a Charles Grimaldi, 1 bloom and it smells strong sweet with just a hint of citrus..Kim, the exotic! (Hi Marion and all you lurkers.. :) Kim that is a STUNNING view you've provided your neighbors! Enter that one in the Photo Contest! BEAUTIOUS!! Hope you get the computer back VERY soon, we'll miss you.. It's a brug-scented, cool evening.. I'll try to post a few bloom pics.. I tidied up brug plants a bit.. I love it out there.. The scents and sounds, blooms of sweet autumn clematis, brugs, hibiscus (hardy & tropical) Louise I'm lovin that Pink Clouds. Marigolds, zinnia, geraniums, ee's, hydrangea, impatiens, begonias, m.glories & more...... Note to Self: Winter IS coming... I too am going to give Joyce's rooting method a shot, I like how you can see whats going on below the surface.. but I have to put holes in my pots, drainage is good... I'd sure forget to tip someone.. and I wouldn't be able to tip the big girls.

Hi, Both Papa and Gamma are taking breaks. Dang, I never could have thought that a human could get hand, foot and mouth disease. We have been up with this child since 3:00 am yesterday morning. Amiyah and I went out and cut the few green beans that were still hanging on the fine and she went, uh, uh, uh and she showed me what I have been trying to get to grow on the dry old shale based beach breach the previous owners put it and there was a moonie or or dat or what ever I am supposed to call them. I'll take a pic tomorrow........but here is "America's Next Top Model" shot yesterday. LOL

Oh, AuntB you about gonna take me back to Mayberry. She is lying on my husband for the first time in almost oh, I don't know 20 hours, finally sleeping. The ignorance of people simply asounds me. One minute she is collecting beans and the next, she is sicker than hell. So sad.

Long night, I managed to move the 5 and 20 gal burgs into the shed. I picked up all loose garden tools and stuff them in places I’ll never remember. All the hanger are on the ground, the furniture is tipped and I’m beat, sore and done in. I still have the big burgs in the front yard; they will get tipped in the morning along with a hundred of their closest friends. Hope they all will be heavy enough to stay put, I so do not want to have to fetch them out of the swamp at the bottom of the hill. Hope it’s not bad but they are predicting high winds for the coast.
Have a good night hotties, Zzzzzzzzzzz with an ice pack for me.

Beautiful babies AuntB
