I love the fall garden.
blooming in september
That's Lindheimer's Muhly with the Callicarpa dichotoma, isn't it? They make a good combination. And Blue Oak Sage in back of "Star Asterix"?
You're right on both. I didn't cut back the Lindheimer's Muhly this winter and it shows. It didn't shed its bloom stalks like M. capillaris does.
The Blue Oak Sage is flowering heavier now that Fall is here.
With Lindheimer's Muhly I just groom out the dead stuff by hand -- very quick and easy.
I envy your Blue Oak Sage -- that's one I've killed repeatly, along with Plumbago.
I've got Rub. triloba together with Verbena bonariensis too! -- they make a great combination. There's something about the color of some of the Rubeckias and Helianthus -- esp. R. fulgida, R. triloba, and H. angustifolius -- they glow and stand out tremendously from a distance.
I love the color of Star Asterisk -- before you started posting pics of your daylilies this year I didn't know that there are daylilies with that raspberry color.
It's tight quarters where that L's Muhly is planted- plus it's a little close to the Yucca gloriosa. I'll get around to it next year, lol.
I've tried the Blue Oak Sage in a couple of other spots in the garden with no success yet it's about to take over that bed. Go figure.
Before we moved the house I tried the Blue Oak Sage up at the mailbox -- no way is that EVER too wet -- well wilt is rampant up there and anything sensitive to it goes. :(
Tropicanna- I've made a note to send you Celosia seeds. Your Barleria is very pretty- I need to look that up in Plantfiles.
Thanks, I'll save some of the barleria for the next ru, I have plenty! :) I'm going to leave a big one out to see if it will make it thru winter
..sorry to clutter up the old thread..
