Ladies, We have not heard from those of you in Alabama. The storm is gaining a lot of strenght, and no one has said which way it is heading, it looks like Florida is already getting some damaging winds and tornado's, and they say it will also be felt in Alabama, georgia... So please be careful. Where-ever it will be landing on the coast, Louisiana, Mississippi, Texas, be careful as well. Houston most likely will get the front of it?
So get the plants and pets secured somewhere, and take care of yourself.

I got a call from the girls and they are having fun!! Way too much-it was guess the voice on the other end of the call-it was too fun-I got Deb 1st and she has a very heavy accent, then I got Audrey who has an accent but nothing like Deb's, then I got Joyce-who has no accent at all, then BJ-who has just a slight one...they all have the kind voices that I thought they would and it was wonderful talking to them!! Kathy I talked to last, and they were going out to feed the birds and pet em-apparantly in the am Kathy was trying to make a pie and her oven caught on fire a little!!LOL So we decided that she gets the dirtiest oven award!!! I told BJ to make her a burnt pie from clay and put some flames around the bottom and send it to her!!LOL

Loved the glass place, but they didn't let you go in the factory-in fact the store was off site-I guess several yrs back when MIL went you could go right in and see the whole thing-I was a little dissapointed as I think she was too, but oh well...I got some great deals and found some real neat things...I got a few things that were in the sale bins to do crafts with and I got some presents, and I got a set of 8 wine glasses for my tabel for thanksgiving-I got 4 wine glasses and 4 stemless wine glasses in a brown shade, $1 a glass!! I also got the cutest snowman serving platter for $2.39!!! It is a GIMONGO platter!!

PBJ, help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! they are all drunk and passed out on the floor!!!!!!!

Too bad you can't actually see the glass making process Stacey. That would have been very interesting. I found some lovely old fashion sundae glasses at a thrift store, and I think I'd like to try my hand at candle making. Don't laugh BJ...your fault!!

we heard yet on those in line of gustav? we had Tstorms bad, but not a drop of rain, ten miles south is getting 3" of rain and flash flooding. had to turn off all the computers.

From waht I saw Gus will be a Cat 5 in the gulf, then go back to a Cat 4 when it makes landfall just barely W of NO:( And will get a LOT of TX and Joey as a TS as it disappates

Good morning girls... still at Kathy's and just checking in here.
IMHO... and just my own uneducated oppinion, Gus is going to be more than a TS when it reaches Joey... If indeed it's a cat 4 or 5 when it reaches the shore, I predict that Conroe will see a Cat 1 or 2. I do hope Joey gets out or hunkers down really good before Mon or Tue. I also predict that it will reach my house in NE Texas by Wed as a TD and will stall there for a few days.
Let's all pray that I'm wrong... this time, I'd be very happy to be wrong.

BJ, I know you needed this to gather more proofs that you're not the only "sane" one on DG!! But I think you'd agree with me, that it's incredible how a bunch of women, who have never met each other can act, once met, as though they've known each other all their lives. Do you feel the love??

Looks like most of our friends in one way or other be affected by either Gustav that's heading straight towards Louisiana... and we have Hanna tracked as hitting the South East..
Be prepared!! Be safe!! In the morning, we'd be getting cases of bottled water, batteries (don't forget an extra cell phone battery, Sistahs) and making sure that our vehicles are filled up with gas.
Deb, since you're driving home, be safe. Joyce and BJ, hope your flights will not be affected. Marion, wishing you and your kids a safe journey home.

Oh, I would love a cypress tree. I wonder if they would grow in Arkansas? Will have to check on that.
I have several trees that I need to cut down and want to plant fast growing trees near 2 of the ones I cut down. The 1st tree to go will be the one near the deck. The leaves are kinda dusty and it has these little round balls on it. The leaves break me out, so its going bye bye. Another tree near the highway is a large dead thing and is only being held together by the Whisteria growing all the way to the top of it. That is maybe whet killed it. There is also a lone(ugly) cedar by the pond. It will be gone, too. I want another weeping willow there on the NE side and some dogwood and red bud on the west side.
I have some buckeye seeds from my trees near Branson, so think I will try to greminate some of them. Also have a couple of Cycas revoluta "Sago Palm" nuts to try to grow. That one will take awhile. But in the long run, it should be worth it.
Right now my living room looks like a bulb grave yard, lol. I have several bed sheets with a couple of hundred Magic Lilies(naked ladies) and red Spider Lily bulbs drying out, and I get to dig some more tomorrow. Yippieeee - not.

I got the surprise lily bulbs this year from someone-I planted them and nothing:( I was sad as I had hoped they would be pretty if only for a year for me:( & I had some spider lilies I had planted last year that never came up this year:(

I too am keeping you all in the paths of the storms in my thoughts-NO is supposed to be getting hit right about now...
