North Central Texas Fall Roundup Trade Thread #2

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

Yes, I am very much Dennis, please save me one or two.
Josephine.

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

Dennis... I would love a Sweetspire; please look at my list and see what I can bring you.
Sorry about your B Dalia.

Colleyville, TX(Zone 8a)

Thanks Josephine for trying the white mist flower.
Dennis, don't worry if the black dalia doesn't work. Sounds very frustrating...40!

Grapevine, TX(Zone 8a)

My book on propagation says that sweetspire is easy to propagate in late summer/early fall, so I'll start trying to mass produce it! :) Hopefully I have better luck with it....

Sheila, I'll put you down for one. Can I get a horsetail reed from you?

Dennis

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

You bet Dennis. Glad you asked just now, I just pulled and dug the last from around my pond today and it was headed for the yard cart. Keep it in a container..word to the wise unless you want a bed full.

Goldthwaite, TX(Zone 8a)

Dennis, I'd like to try the Virginia sweetspire too. Don't worry about the others you were going to bring for me that won't root. I can root nearly all of my salvias in the spring, but most cuttings I take in the fall don't survive.

I would like one of your ice plants TJ. Please look at my list.

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

Wow Guy!!! that is quite a list good to have you on board, I will add it to the top post.
Josephine.

Waxahachie, TX(Zone 8a)

Sheila, these are the Ice Plants I got from LouC. They have yellow/orange blooms. I got them this spring, so I don't know about their hardiness.

Thanks Josephine! I have been too busy at work! But I guess that's what they pay me for.

Great TJ, I got some from Lou too, but would always welcome more. They are lovely. Check on my list when you have time.

Buffalo, TX(Zone 8b)

TJ, I can bring you a few yaupon holly plants and a weeping willow. Check my list to see if there is anything else you would like.

I would love a red-eye snowball, a salvia greggi, a bog sage, a skull cap and a flame acanthus.

Looking forward to seeing you again.

Charlene

Grapevine, TX(Zone 8a)

Can I get a Heartleaf Ampelopsis? (Is it invasive?)

Dennis

Denton, TX(Zone 7a)

I have plenty of Turk's cap, Carl...how many do you want?
Kim, I have you down for a Monarda and merpeg, you want Turk's Cap?
I am trying to keep up with this. But email me with requests, don't want to miss anyone,

Garland, TX(Zone 8a)

Oh, TJ, would you please save me some castor bean seeds? Mine didn't make it this year. I would also like your frogfruit, if you have it to spare.

Please look and see if I have anything you want.

Also, for everyone--my Mystic Spires got about 3 times the size I expected, and I had to cut it way back, so I just stuck several in some cups. They ALL rooted and are blooming. And now the mama needs about 2 feet cut off again. So I have plenty of those if anyone still needs one.

Goldthwaite, TX(Zone 8a)

Pattie, I would love to have a 'Mystic Spires' salvia. I put your name on a variety of daylilies.

Denton, TX(Zone 7a)

Is there someone who would like a lone 'Kindly Light' day lily?? I also have 4 small roses I have rooted..they are not marked as to their names...

Goldthwaite, TX(Zone 8a)

Melva, I would love the daylily and one of your roses. Let me know what I can bring for you.

Denton, TX(Zone 7a)

Patrob, Okay the day lily and a rose...I will look at your list.
Can I have some Mealy Cup Sage and some Blackberries?

Garland, TX(Zone 8a)

Gotcha down, Pat. But I do need to ask. I thought you were bringing Mystic Spires to share and that several people had asked you for it. Do you think there was some confusion between Pat & Pattie, and maybe I'm supposed to be bringing those? Or maybe it was just me who was confused (nothing new there).

Doesn't matter if I am--I have plenty, and it obviously roots very easily! But I would hate to have overlooked anyone.

Okay, let me just say this. If anyone (besides Patricia) has asked me for Mystic Spires, I didn't get it, so please let me know again that you want it.

Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

Melvatoo - take a look at my list. I guess no more than a couple or 3. Be happy with one!

Carl

Denton, TX(Zone 7a)

Carl,
I will look at your list..and I will bring you 3 of the Turk's Cap.

Colleyville, TX(Zone 8a)

broncbuster, would love to try some blanket flower seeds. I have some beautiful dwarf maiden grass for you.

Goldthwaite, TX(Zone 8a)

Pattie, I'm bringing 'Indigo Spires' salvia for a couple of people and can root more too if they are wanted.

Melva, I've got you down for mealy cup sage and blackberries.

(Becky) Colmesneil, TX(Zone 8b)

TJ.... I have the possum haw holly.. but i couldn't tell you the difference until the dead of winter.. I'll mark some and keep you in mind for next year... Also.. the yaupon holly.. are you referring to the plain ol Yaupon that has leaves that aren't prickly.. or the Holly tree that has the normal prickly leaves.. we have both

Denton, TX(Zone 7a)

Anyone who wants anything of mine...I am more than willing to trade for soil, and/or mulch...
Carl, Don't see anything on your list, that I want...but I am bringing you 3 turk's cap, anyway.
patrob, thanks for the salvia, and the berries.

Grapevine, TX(Zone 8a)

broncbuster, I would also be interested in one of the pincushion cacti. Is there anything on my list you would be interested in?

Dennis

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

Hello Becky and Charlene, I could use two Beautyberry shrubs, do you still have some? I would appreciate it. Let me know what you want from my list.
I am adding Four O'clock bulbs, some yellow some pink.

(Becky) Colmesneil, TX(Zone 8b)

Josephine.. I dug a very small one when I dug the other one, but I'll be glad to get you 2 larger ones. I'd love some 4 o'clock bulbs!!

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

Josephine, I would love a yellow 4'Oclock. I don't have but one and it will not set seeds for me!

Seguin, TX(Zone 8b)

melva...I would love some turk's cap.

Denton, TX(Zone 7a)

Okay Kim..how many do you want?

Seguin, TX(Zone 8b)

Two or three would be great, I've got just the place for them. :)

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

O.k. yellow Four O'clocks for Becky and Sheila, thank you for the Beauty berries Becky.

Colleyville, TX(Zone 8a)

broncbuster, I meant dwarf Japanese silver grass. Let me know if you'd like it and /or anything else.

Melvatoo, do you like mexican bush sage? I plan on transferring one that has red and purple spikes and most likely will get some divisions, or can do cuttings.Anyone else interested? By the way, the little cutting you gave me last year of limelight is about to bloom.

Denton, TX(Zone 7a)

Okay Kim a couple of turks cap..
Limelight was probably from Karen..and she loves the Mexican Bush Sage....so, do I.she is going to be there too (I think) not sure if she will be trading in advance.

Garland, TX(Zone 8a)

Oh, Patricia, I guess the confusion was between Mystic and Indigo. My bad. What I have rooted is Indigo Spires.

I do have Mystic Spires as well. It's never really done much for me, and I've never tried to root it. But I will get a cutting tomorrow and see if I can't get one going for you. Maybe you'll have better luck with it.

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

Hey Gang!
Yes I am definitely coming!

Haven't gathered anything to speak of. It has been a bumpy summer, and I am just glad to come see everybody!

Josephine has asked me to do the door prizes this year, Yaay!
...and I am bringing a covered dish or 2.

Will post any plants I have to give, but honestly I wouldn't know where to put anything new.

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

Glad you finally got back on DG and are coming. Wouldn't be the same without you.
