Nothing neccessary. I will have lots of these and would be happy to share some of them no problem. How many do you want Charlene and I will put you down. Tr
North Central Texas Fall Roundup Trade Thread #2
If you have enough to share I'd like a few for me and a few for my sister. Those colors are her favorite. She is disabled and I "do" her flower gardens for her.
Thanks,
Charlene
If you like to offer natives at your business, I came across a nice patch of Conoclinium coelestinum, also known as East Texas Mist Flower. I also came across some extra Malvaviscus drummondii, known as turks cap. LMK
Charlene
Sure Charlene, both would be great. So I will put you down for 8-10?? Just let me know. I will be healing these into a wheelbarrow full of potting mix and holding over. Will bring them bare root. They will be ready to plant. Tanarae
Charlene, could I have a couple of your mist flowers (Conoclinium coelestinum) too? That's a beautiful plant!
Sure, Patricia, I'll save you one.
Charlene
Tanarea.. could I get in on a few of the DLs seedlings... I just bought 50 fans of NOID DLs off Ebay and got them yesterday.. Hopefully I will have trades of them next year to repay the DLs. He also sent me a list of possible names..and they are NICE!! Relook my list girlie.. and see if I can bring you anything else...TY
Tanarae - I never heard back from you on trading for one of your Crotons and a Canna Wyoming? I'm assuming you just didn't see the post since there's so many. :) Please look over my list to see if there's anything you'd like of mine.
Thanks,
Jennifer
Oh Jennifer I am sorry I thought I responded and said I would be happy to bring you one of each. The crotons are sure pretty. Do you want the one with the skinny leaves or fat leaves?? Don't know the varieties as they just came as foliage plants. My wyomings I have planted in one of my beds just bloomed out (planted really late) and they were just gorgeous. Love the foliage too, the bronzy reddish edges and dark green. Really pretty. Tanarae
No worries Tanarae - I just wanted to ask again b/c both sound like really lovely plants. :)
I've never had crotons before and am not very familiar with the types - I just know I think the ones I've seen at the nurseries are beautiful. So I'd really be happy with either the fat or skinny leaves - I'll let you pick whichever one you think, or whichever is easier for you to bring. Are they all about the same size plant?
Let me know if there's anything I can bring for you. :)
Jennifer
Hey Jennifer do you have any seeds from your orchid vine? Would love to have a few of those. Tanarae
Tanarae - I don't actually have an orchid vine. The seeds I have were sent to me and labeled "Pea Vine - yellow". The closest match I could find by googling and in PlantFiles is the "Yellow Orchid Vine". It looks like there's approx. 10 seeds in the envelope and I'd be happy to bring them for you, if you'd like them. I wish I could vouch for their viability and accuracy, but since I only received them in a newbie-type pack (from a DG member about 6 weeks ago), I can't. But let me know if you'd like them & they're all yours!
That would be fine, what the heck I will give them a try. I love surprises. Tanarae
Ok - I'll definitely bring them for you! But that doesn't seem like much, so if you decide you want anything else on my list, just holler! Jennifer
Okay Jennifer I will let you know but I really like the vine so I think it is great. Tanarae
Kittylover, I would love to try the pepper.
patrob, If you still have DL Ming Toy and Prairie Moonlight, I'd love them. I assume that if the DL is not listed in your trade files, it's not available anymore? Wow , I envy your organizational skills. I don't mind if they are barerooted.
Tanarae, I'd love afew of your unnamed beauties, if you still have.
I will have to check on my daylilies this weekend. The one I know for sure that has multiplied is Byzantine Emperor.
so far I think charlenesplants gets an alternanthera from me and merpeg gets a plumeria
I'm so confused how to keep up with editing my trade list!

Carl, here's how I find my trade list to edit: click on the link that Josephine made for you in the first post on this thread to bring up your list. Then right above your list find and click on In reply to: North Central Texas Fall Roundup Trade Thread That takes you to a version of your list that allows you to click on edit in the left column below your name. Since I am posting here and on the East TX trade thread too, I usually make notes and edit in the evening. Those 5 edits per day we are allowed go in a hurry.
Carl, glad you made it over here to this thread. Please look at my list and see what you would like for the plumeria, then let me know. Peg
ugh - got lost again

I'll take the mixed caladium bulbs - maybe they'll overwinter OK for next spring.
thanx
Carl
1_Lucky_Texan - If you have more plumeria - I'd love some - take a look -see what you'd like from my list -
Thanks
Kitty

It's pretty easy to cut sticks off of them. We MAY have only one that is rooted, but really - you just stick them in som moist potting soil - DO NOT WIGGLE/DISTURB them for a few weeks and they will root.
Dunno how many we will cut up yet but I suspect we will have one for you.
Carl
Carl,
If you mark the thread as "Watched" it's easier to find it. I'm hoping to bring flowering bulbs so you can see what you are getting, weather permitting. But I can go ahead and dig them up and get them ready for storage. Let me know which you would prefer, okay?
You said your wife wanted Turk's cap. I'm pretty sure I saw that somewhere, so can somebody help here?
Now, to all, I'm sorry I've been so absent. Keith (DH) broke his hand and after playing nurse, I came down with pneumonia, and I'm just starting to feel a little bit normal. I promise I will check again through both threads and make sure I have everybody posted correctly.
Again, I want meet you and put names with faces and just have some good fun! And Josephine, you have done an awesome job! I am so impressed :))
Peg
Kittylover - please trade us a canna tropicana for a white Plumeria if that's OK?
thanx
Carl
melvatoo do you still have Turk's Cap?
*****Haves...
Turks Cap think there are 10 of them*****
see if I have something you'd like for one.
Carl
Thank you Peg, I am glad you are feeling better, stay well.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Carl, if Melva doesn't have a turk's cap I can get you one.
Josephine.
1_Lucky_Texan - got you down for a tropicanna canna for a plumeria - thanks - Kitty
Hey - Sorry to say - my condition is flaring - they think it's lupus - but anyway - for now I'm out of commission - I won't be answering D-mails - watching threads, going to RU's - or doing any gardening - till it's over - don't know how long it will last or how bad it will be - Right now - I'm glued to the bed - feels like by a weight of an elephant - I'll give you all a holler when I'm feeling better - trades - are gonna have to wait -this came on very suddenly - like a mack truck
Kitty
Esther, please take care of yourself, that comes first. Whenever you feel up to it, let us know how you are doing, please? Prayers flowing your way. Peg
I'm sorry to hear that, Kittylover. Please let us know if there's anything we can do to help.
I hope you feel better soon. Take care of yourself.
Kittylover.....Hope you get your health under control soon without much pain. Don't worry about the trades; but if you are up to making the event when the day comes (Oct 18th) please drop by so you can meet all the fellow gardeners.
Patrob, don't know if you saw my post awhile ago wondering if Ming Toy and Prairie Moonlight were still available. I have been looking for nice red one for a while.
Anna, I put your name on the daylilies back when you asked, but I must have missed letting you know! None of the white mistflower cuttings look like they are going to survive. I have some of the lavender-blue West Texas mistflower. Would you like one of those? Please check my list and see what else I can bring for you.
Thanks,
Patricia
Anyone have any poppy seeds? I'd like to grow some next spring and they're supposed to be tossed out in October/November.
Stephanie, I have loads of poppy seeds, I will bring you some.
Thanks, Patrob.I am excited about those DL. I think I have ice carnival from you last year.I will pass on the blue mist flower. I am trying to get a "white" bed.
Anna, I may be able to get a white mist flower for you, working on it now.
Josephine.
Thanks, Sheila!
All the plants I am planning to give away are doing well except for two (which are, of course, the two that the most people have asked for!):
Black dalia, which I promised to frostweed, patrob and bananna18
Texas betony, which stephanietx and patrob
I'm still trying, but haven't had much luck with these after trying about 20 cuttings each. Does anyone else have any of these to offer to the people who asked for them, or any propagation advice for these plants?
Also, is anyone interested in Virginia Sweetspire?
Dennis
