I'M FIRST FOR ONCE!!!!

OK-so this was my post I made on the other one as Jaye was making this one:

Well from that link it looks like she is moving over land and decreasing, so that's good...

Loooks like Kathy will get the edges, but not the main part-that's great news-she is heading over through bottom of LA and then up through Miss as she dissapates:) It does look like you are gonna be feeling her at her weakest though when the girls are at your house:(

I guess put me down as being good at tacky glue, floral, basket, creative idea, painting (not mural-Betty type) and hodge podge (NOT modge podge-going to try it though:))

I hope that we get some rain from her

MORNING JAYE!!!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Morning Stacey. Do you work on Saturdays too?

(Laura) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Good morning Stacey, though we're on different sides of sleep.

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

Every other Sat I work:( NOt really anything to do, so I clean, do some misc paperwork and play the rest of the time:)

Morning Laura-you haven't gone to bed yet??

Hey-does anyone know how to make DG my homepage??

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

Laura-it was BJ that gets glue everywhere, even though I do tend to have the same problem!!LOL It can't be helped I think....

I wear gloves while in the garden ever since I read that story on here about the lady that got a microbe or something under her nail and ended up having to like cut off her finger or something...

I do usually have like paint or glue remanents someplace on me, it seems I always miss someplace when I wash up!!LOL

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Morning Laura. When it comes to painting, I always put gloves on. Yep, I'm another that's notorious for having grime under her nails.

Stacey, go to your control panels and look for Internet Options. Then key in the address link.

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

Like tools???

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Your Control Panels will be in your Start Menu.

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

AHHH-thanks for edumacating me:)

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

You are very welcome.. a little more edumucation won't hurt anyone ;)

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

I agree, I think it is when we stop learning that our brains get lazy and that is when senility sets in;)

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

I don't know about you, but my brains got to be occupied when I'm awake. I may not physically be active, but my brains got to be churning..either reading or surfing online.
Think I'll take a walk outside and greet my green babies.
Have a fantastic day Stacey!

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

You too Jaye

(Audrey) Dyersburg, TN(Zone 7a)

I thought there was a way to make DG your homepage under "my tools" at the top of the page, maybe not!

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

I will try both ways and see when I get home today...

(Audrey) Dyersburg, TN(Zone 7a)

Well, I just looked, and couldn't find it, but I know I've seen it someplace on here! It says "make Dave's Gardens my homepage".

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

huh.....I will acheive it today-that is my goal!!;)

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Just click on tools, then internet options, then click on use currrent.
So easy.
Linda Kay

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

thanks LK

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

No problem

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Checking in as I currently have power!!! Yes we are just riding this thing out. Heavy rains still coming and tons of debris everywhere at this point. 3 (dead) trees down making quite a mess and one going through the roof of my covered swing set!! Yrrrrr!!
Son and family all okay, limb wasn't as bad as he thought when he could see it in the light. Girls are past the "stir crazy" stage moving onto strait jackets!! LOL

Heavy flooding reports already coming in but then there is a lot of low lying areas up here. Rains are still being predicted until next Friday~~ Oh it is tops from, I guess neighbor's trees, blocking my drive--not just the ends the entire lenght of the drive is covered so major cleaning there before any cars can go out.

Has anyone heard from Deborah? She is an area that is getting hit hard also.

Check back when and if I have power.

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Darn... been at the last room all morning, wondering where everyone was... DARN... I was lost and Jaye found me...

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Lolol..now to leave breadcrumbs for Deborah and Joey and Joyce and Betty and Sis.....

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

Oh-I hope you ladies are OK....BTW-I was wondering today-Marion what was your DH's name?? I thought it began w/ a B...

I have a couple things to share.....
www.thejoymovie.com

and this email my mom sent...

When an old man died in the geriatric ward of a small hospital near Tampa ,
Florida , it was believed that he had nothing left of any value.
Later, when the nurses were going through his meager possessions, They
found this poem. Its quality and content so impressed the staff that copies
were made and distributed to every nurse in the hospital.

One nurse took her copy to Missouri . The old man's sole bequest to
posterity has since appeared in the Christmas edition of the News Magazine
of the St. Louis Association for Mental Health. A slide presentation has
also been made based on his simple, but eloquent, poem.

And this little old man, with nothing left to give to the world, is now the
author of this "anonymous" poem winging across the Internet.

Crabby Old Man

What do you see nurses? .What do you see?
What are you thinking.... ..when you're looking at me?
A crabby old man, ...not very wise,
Uncertain of habit ........with faraway eyes?

Who dribbles his food.......and makes no reply.
When you say in a loud voice....."I do wish you'd try!"
Who seems not to notice ...the things that you do.
And forever is losing . A sock or shoe?

Who, resisting or not...........lets you do as you will,
With bathing and feeding . The long day to fill?
Is that what you're thinking? Is that what you see?
Then open your eyes, nurse......you're not looking at me.

I'll tell you who I am ........ As I sit here so still,
As I do at your bidding, .....as I eat at your will.
I'm a small child of Ten.......with a father and mother,
Brothers and sisters .who love one another

A young boy of Sixteen ...with wings on his feet
Dreaming that soon now. .a lover he'll meet.
A groom soon at Twen ty .my heart gives a leap.
Remembering, the vows........that I promised to keep.

At Twenty-Five, now .......... I have young of my own.
Who need me to gu ide . And a secure happy home.
A man of Thirty ......... My young now grown fast,
Bound to each other ....... With ties that should last.

At Forty, my young sons ..have grown and are gone,
But my woman's beside me........to see I don't mourn.
At Fifty, once more, . Babies play 'round my knee,
Again, we know children . My loved one and me.

Dark days are upon me ......... My wife is now dead.
I look at the future ............I shudder with dread.
For my young are all rearing .young of their own.
And I think of the years... And the love that I've known.

I'm now an old man.........and nature is cruel.
Tis jest to make old age .look like a fool.
The body, it crumbles..........grace and vigor, de part.
There is now a stone........where I once had a heart.

But inside this old carcass ...... A young guy still dwells,
And now and again my battered heart swells.
I remember the joys.............. I remember the pain.
And I' m loving and living.............life over again.

I think of the years ...all too few......gone too fast.
And accept the stark fact........that nothing can last.
So open your eyes, people ..........open and see..
Not a crabby old man. Look closer....see........ME!!

Remember this poem when you next meet an older person who you might brush
aside without looking at the young soul within.....we will all, one day, be
there, too!

PLEASE SHARE THIS POEM

The best and most beautiful things of this world can't be seen or touched.
They must be felt by the heart.

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Stacey, I love that poem. No hubby's name didn't start with a "B".
His name was Charles Ross but I called him "honey" or Ross. Curious question. Someone posted on another thread that September 23 rd would be their anniversary--it's an annivesary of sorts to me also.

Still raining, still blowing and still have power.

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

It is Melissa's Anv. OK-I was just wondering what "honey's" name was is all:)

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Well, I consider each time you can get online, some good news indeed from you Marion.
Once the weather cleared, will you be able to get on the road? No woman can live on ice cream only!
Stacey, I have a hard time downloading that link, but I love the poem.

Albuquerque, NM(Zone 7a)

Fairy1004 - I don't usually post here but wanted to thank you for that
poem. I do hospice work and patients assigned to me are elderly,
fragile, most have dementia, and all are near the end of their earth
journey. These words reflect how I feel about each and every one of them.

I will share it with my fellow hospice volunteers.

Thanks,
June

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

http://www.thejoymovie.com/

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

June-I am so glad you liked it:) I am sure it is care givers like you that make the difference every day to them:)

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

June, I would like to thank you for the work you do! I am someone who has dealt with Hospice and the service provided is wonderful. I can't say all my experience was a pleasant one as there were some serious administration problems going on at the one where we were and that were being felt but the nurses and others were outstanding.

You provide such caring and loving support during a very trying and stressful time not just to the patient but the families. So from the bottom of mine and my families hearts, We Thank You and all the others!!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Hear! Hear! Echoing Marion's sentiments. We need more of Junes and less of bureaucracy!!

Still having problems with that link, so I google it and found this. I love it and have to share a couple wise sayings from it.

"To love and be loved..is to feel the sun from both sides"
David Wiscott

"Even if you're on the right track, you'll get run over if you just sit there!"
Will Rogers

You certainly know how to share your joy with us ole Aunts, Stacey.

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

I try:)

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Lolol...there's no humility when it comes to you Stacey!!! You are just incorrigible!!!

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

June, I too have experienced the work of Hospice wonderful nurses... I don't know how I would have gotten along without them. I commend you, and all nurses out there that deal with the elderly, and terminal patients... and also for dealing with their families, even long after their loved one has passed... you're all angels sent from above, for sure.

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

tee hee hee

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)
