2nd. Annual DG Christmas Workshop "Victorian Santa"
Oh! That helps a lot, Betty. I thought it opened up the front but it's a pull over, right? We just glue under the arms and down the sides? The braid is for a belt? If you don't mind giving me some rough diminsions like height, width, and sleeve length I could go ahead and have mine cut and sew the shoulder seams together. I've got some green crushed velvet pieces that would be so pretty but will have to piece them.
yes, the sides under the arms and side portion of the dress can be either glued with fabric glue or sewn..of course I have sewing machine so I do that with mine but some may not therefore the glue will do the trick..
Seedtosser1: Ok found the sleigh workshop! Don't know how to copy link...
But if you click on Betty's name you go to threads she started.
Sleigh workshop is on page 4(at bottom) And thread is called
BESt Worst Learned...Sleigh Workshop!
Have fun.
Here is the link to the Sleigh Workshop thread.

so a sleigh workshop and now victorian santa--what else have you done betty?
Everything! There's nothing Betty doesn't do!
She even pours concrete walking stones for her garden in HUGE Rhubarb leaves!
Truly--there is NOTHING she cannot do!...if she wants to, that is....
That's something I want to do! I did order a mold for a 12" round butterfly stepping stone. Winter will be concrete mold setting time around here. Rhubarb stones would be much better. :)
Oh I so want to do the butterfly stepping stone also.
there is a gal down here in big sandy ..maggidew I think she goes by that uses elephant ear plant leaves to do it

There are some great leaves and insturctions on this forum, if you happen to have missed them. We use elephant ears down here as well.
I have four of them on desending pedistals and use them as a waterfall into a little pond. My husband just hooked up a pump.

I was out looking at the okra the other day and was thinking about the leaves of the okra plant.
oooooooooooo thanks garden glory looks like I have alot of reading to do now LOL
OH my I'm so so way behind.....I'll have to read this post from the very beginning to catch up!
Betty, I'm making a reminder to get your money off to you! I forgot what my interest are.... Hummingbirds, Butterflies, working with my hands and I love to DIG in the dirt!! I'm a jack of all trades and a master of none, DIY kind of gal!
did i miss something? i didn't see a post for how much to send you betty-
Here's her post on that. she's not wanting the fee until she gets ready to mail the kits to cost all of them out equally. I believe that's how i read that.

ok--that is what i thought but the post above mine mentioned sending the money and i was afraid i had somehow missed it---
Well just finished painting another 8 santa faces, just face blush and they are done...will pour more tonight..doing another workshop with painting friends..need about 40..yuk..lol
So now I need information..always hear about you all being able to send out a parcel - a $$$$ fee regardless of where it is being sent..can you give me a clue as to size and cost of doing such..will be going across the border to Frankenmuth mid October and perhaps that could be an option...do they have different sizes?
I am not the expert here but from I can find out this is the situation: there are flat rate boxes that cost about 9.80 (priority mail) can weigh as much as will fit into the box; then there is sending by weight of box. I would think if the items all together weigh very little you best option would be pack into smallest box they would fit into and send by weight. Others need to check in here to give their experience.
Thought so, yes the package won't weigh much..wasn't sure if they had different sizes of boxes...that's far too much for what I'd be sending..thanks for the info though
Might still ship from USA...
Best bet is smallest box they will fit into and ship by weight I think. Several have sent you the site to check all this out on other threads. Good luck. BTW how cold was it this morning?
Next to freezing, was tired last night but made the effort to take in all the plants I'll try to overwinter, you know me, I usually kill them off after a week, only ones that survive are the oversized geraniums that I just house in back bedroom..know they would be frozen this morning..sun is out now, nice fall day..trees are turning color..wonderful time, I'm even adjusting to the fact that within the next week or so gardens will be done...last few years we've had snow last week of October and it has stayed so know what's coming...
I've found sending things priority is the cheapest way to go.
Just send a box to a Dger in AZ and one mailing place told me it would cost $50 but I went priority and it only cost me 6.80 and it was only 1lb 13 oz.
I'll have to get 1 kit together and test it out for weight..my goal for this weekend..just on line and ordering all the hair for hair/beard..on the lookout for something that the heads will fit in as to protect them in the trip..will go to $$$ store and see what they have...
I just can't wait! Still don't have my velvet!
Well, I just went to Hobby Lobby in North Little Rock at lunch, that store is so confusing! I searched the whole store walking up and down every isle and couldn't find a stupid glue gun. I did get some animal print 11/2" pom-poms for my cat to play with, and the cashier guy was petting them saying, "Bye bye little Gerbals." I wanted to say, "Put the things in the bag and give me my change so I can get back to work!" Frustrating! So I went down the way in the strip mall to Jo-Ann's and walked right up to the glue guns, so I'll be paying Jo-Ann's another visit tomorrow. I'm thinking about checking out dollar stores for the styro balls, I don't want to buy a pack of 6 when I only need one or two.
I thought the same thing about styro balls; bags of 6 or 8 only way to go. I thought about offering to share but mailing them would cost more than buying the whole bag!
I ended up with a burgundy washable velor instead of velvet. It has that old world crushed velvet look and was on sale.
I have not been able to find a good picture of the Santas so that I could look at the way they are trimmed and accesorized. Would love to know if there is one or if Betty would send one so that I can better plan the trims.
Oh my how cute. I can hardly wait to get started for sure!!!
Those are cute! Lol Betty, I responded on the wrong thread and didn't even know I had switched threads! Scary!
Is there a new one, this is very long. I am so beside myself over those santa faces. They are wonderful.
I've done that, too! Imps are at work!
Betty, they are soooo cute! Can't wait to get mine!
betty, when do we pay you for the materials? I just dont wanna miss out!
LOVE those santa faces!
1ANjl, how are you feeling? Hope your getting better.
Betty will look for payment, once she mails out the faces and other parts.
Linda Kay
Dag-nab-it, I was in town today and kept thinking there was something else I had to get and now I remember, the rest of the supplies for the Santa. I'll have to do it this weekend. Must write myself a note and stick it on the steering wheel.
Betty have you come up with a price yet?
Going to try and get some materials to price it out..check on weight at post office then I'll be ready..
You are the bestest!!!!! Betty for doing this. Thank you so much.
We've moved over...lol
