Ok found the sleigh workshop! Don't know how to copy link...
But if you click on Betty's name you go to threads she started.
Sleigh workshop is on page 4(at bottom) And thread is called
BESt Worst Learned....Sleigh Workshop!
Have fun.
Will have to track instructions for living Bird feeder.
...Here is my Living bird feeder, um unliving...was afraid that deer would do jumping jacks to eat the plants!
It ate everything else.
2nd. Annual DG Christmas Workshop "Victorian Santa"
You guys are too cute for words..
Ok, the date could be Nov. 8th and 9th..already a mistake on my part..lol..was looking at Dec.
Judy he's probably about 22" give or take an inch...
As for those asking about how you'll do, you CANNOT screw up on this one...must tell you that my 20 yrs. experience as recreational director for a large municipality has given me the patience of a saint..I've also taught almost every craft their is to teach..now I said 'almost'..
I have loved (guess it's because my grandmother raised me and I was always with older people, quilting before I was 7) to work with seniors and with individuals who have never done crafts..you would not believe what some have accomplished..that has always been my primary goal, make it fun and make it where anyone can do the project and go home with same quality...
So no fretting yours will be unique and a treasure..I guarantee it...
Judy, you are always my greatest fan..lol...you my dear always make me feel 10 feet tall as many of you do...
You will be amazed at how much fun you will have, it will be as though we are all together..we banter back and forth, anything you are not sure of, I'll be there to answer and to show you with photo's...
I seen the sleigh one and I am like there is no way I can paint that santa like that, I can screw up a stick figure.
Went and looked at the site Fleurs that you posted, beautiful santa's but believe me, yours will be as pretty..as for the fur, you can most certainly perhaps around his hood put a strip of your MIL's fur...or if it's an object, it could be attached to a wreath or his gown etc. - make it personal...
We did teddy bears with mink coats..
Luvs2garden2000..so laughing, NOW DID YOU READ the thread..I purchased about 200 panels of Victorian Santa's, 4 different styles, sent them to participants to cut white part of material off and taught them how to apply to wood piece to look as though they were painted...so yes, that was a project that even children could do, ask Judy, her's did...
Tia...Beleive it or not
Those Santas are Material!! They are not painted.
Wohooo, they are Podged!!!
The sleigh is the only thing painted, smoosh style.
Gosh you have some talent there. I am glad I found you. We will have fun. The days you picked sounds good to me. Mom will be back from Europe then and will have time to rest up before this. If it is possible could I maybe get 6 packages, I just might be able to get my daughters to make one also. I wont know for a little while. If not that is ok.
wow way kewl, ok i could do that. i have to go back and re read it when i seen the "painting" I was so far out. Now I am back in.
Phoey, I'm definitely out Nov. 8th and 9th - will be in Cleveland for my DH's mini-reunion. If I'm unable to be there at the time of the workshop I'll definitely go back and follow the thread on my own - so keep me on your supply list please!
Oh shucks............
Oh I just got a 40% off coupon from JoAnns so I'm gonna go hit their lush fabrics.
For fur I have seen old fur coats at the resale shops. I turned an old rabbit skin coat into a cave woman outfit once, and I think I actaully saw a fox jacket last time I was at Goodwill. Gonna have to keep my eyes open.
Cave woman outfit? Joey, is there something about yourself that you would like to share? ROTFLMBO!
Gottal run some errands. Have fun.
Debra
Let's say, Joey is an original ;)
LOL well this was years ago when I had the figure for it...it was for Halloween BTW (guess that bit of info would have been helpful! LOL)
lol yea it would have
Fur is not needed, just thought that fleurs wanted to use up her stash..Fleurs that date is not written in stone, closer to the date we'll check everyone's schedule, I'm always on line here at work so NOBODY will miss out...
Joey, so...was your hair up like Wilma or Bam Bam?
Lolol!!
Could even do it late October so that when the busy schedules are on we'll have ours completed..let me know..just means I'd better start pouring new heads and painting them..lol...
October would be ok for me but not for my mom.
LOL Jaye had more of that wild Rachel Welsh Look form 10000 BC, like i said I was young! LOL
Question about the santa workshop. I can't sew and I don't have a sewing machine anymore. I can hand stitch though. Will that be ok?.
i think we are gluing everything. Not sure tho
Yes, those with machines can sew if they want, but gluing we're doing..told you all, it's easy as 1-2-3
whew! I can glue!
I can sew also and mom has 2 machines, I will ask her what way she wants to do it. I am the ignorant one I can not assemble a toothbrush let alone use directions. Mom is the one that can see things, that is why I need her in this project.
my goodness you girls are fretting much too much..remember the word "EASY" and 'NO ARTISTIC OR CRAFTING' experience required...
As for the date, I'm more than accommodating, I get so much pleasure out of it that if one date doesn't work, then we'll do 2..your part is from now to mid Oct. is getting supplies done...
okie dokie I can do that.
good for you...
I run out for an errand and look what I came home and found!! Thanks for putting me on the list Betty!! You said easy and I am just going to sit back and believe you. After all everyone, even baseball players, get 3 strikes, right?
Jojo, do tell us more about the cavewoman outfit!
Yes sir I am in this one for sure whenever it is scheduled.
we want pictures. of the cave woman
LOL that was a long time ago, I think if any pictures do exist they are packed away...which is whre they will stay! Now back to Santas LOL
aw shucks! You do take all the fun out of things, don't you Jojo!! LOL
Betty, do you have a picture to post, so we can see what it is supposed to look like?
Linda Kay
P.S. Any date is fine with me.
I have the piece at home, will take a photo when I get there this evening and post..
oh i am having fun already and we haven't even started--
i love fabric--so i have it and save it and enjoy it--i think i will have a good time picking from my stash!! i have lots of tapestry material--wouldn't that be a pretty coat for santa!! i think i have velvet too--i use the tapestry for table runners too--
i love the idea of getting material from thrift stores--when my son needed me to make him a midevil costume for a high school project he found a pic on the computer of what it should look like--i went to the thrift store and looked at things not as what they were but what i could do with them--it turned out great and was a few dollars--some of the moms went to great expense and lots of patterns, sewing etc and my sons looked just as good--
is there still room for me?! I would love to join!
Beautiful!! If only mine looks HALF that good!
