Hot Dog!!!!!! Whooohoooo : ) I'm pushing for you having blooms this before fall : ) Your seedlings are awesome looking really healthy.

(Louise) Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

Gosh Kim I sure hope so! I have never had a brug until this year and have never experienced the flower except at a nursery in Florida.

(Kim) Philadelphi, PA(Zone 6a)

Yep just keep looking for the uneven leaf then lay on the bloom boost if you use it : )

South Coast, RI(Zone 6b)

Yea Louise, I’m so glad you have a Y. Blooms to come sooooooon I hope. Your baby Burg monsters look great.
Just got in from work and back outside I go, water water water. I’m beginning to think my hose is my best friend. I seem to spend more time with it than anything else.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Kimarj, what do you mean by the uneven leaf? Is this a sign they are about to bloom???
Linda Kay

(Louise) Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

yes, look at the top end of the petioles. one side will be lower than the other. In other words if you look at the end of the leaf the sides will be uneven where they join the petiole. It is usually pretty noticeable.

(Kim) Philadelphi, PA(Zone 6a)

Yes when when one side of the leaf is shorter than the other is about to set buds : ) Sorry I don't know the scientific words.

(Kim) Philadelphi, PA(Zone 6a)

Thanks Louise!! : )

(Louise) Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

Donna I know what you mean. We have not had any decent rain since early July. It has been dry dry dry....

Henderson, NC(Zone 7b)

(Louise) Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

Faye! You are very crafty!

(Louise) Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

I have been using miracid on my tropicals and my EE's and they seem to love it! Have not tried it on the brugs yet.

My what big ears you have!!! : )

(Louise) Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

LOL

South Coast, RI(Zone 6b)

All watered, 1/3 of the giant Shastas cut back and 3 dats into the ground. Nice a cool out there tonight with a little breeze so skeeters just started to come out now. I’m not liking this, 7:45 and the sun is almost down. I need more time at night.

Louise, Excellent ears, huge, nice and green.

Faye, adorable plant markers.

South Coast, RI(Zone 6b)

Has anyone had any experience with New Orleans Lady. She is the one that crinkled with the MG. I fed her the less fish and seaweed than the others and went easier on her with the recipe spray. Her leaves are now very dark green almost black/green. All of the others colored up a little getting rid of some of the yellow highlights but she is scary green. She has 15 little buds on her and I don’t want to lose them.

Kansas City (Joyce), MO(Zone 5a)

lavender4ever, I am not a brug expert by a long shot. But I use MG on my brugs and they love it. I don't know if the salts would be a problem after time or not, but I think I remember reading on the other brug forum...LOL, that lots of people use it.

The iris grower down the road told me not to use it on iris it would make the rhizones squishy. I water a barrel that had iris around it with mg and the iris got squishy....figure that...LOL

I didn't get burnt on a coop but on a I have these and will send for postage. If the postage hadn't been so high I wouldn't of minded. Speaking of I need to get that sent.....

Love those plant markers..those are the cutest things I have ever seen..I think you should give one to each of your 200 dearest hottie friends....LOL, how many are there on this site anyway? You did give me a good idea. I could go to Goodwill and buy metal butter knives and engrave them with the names of the plants. If I put the decorative end up I don't suppose you could get hurt do you?

This is a cutie....bass is the name

Extremely talented if I do say so myself.
He taught himself to sit up, don't know many Bassetts that do that.

Mmmm Donna that sounds strange.Someone will come along with advice. Bass is is a cutie.. that expression is priceless!

Nassau County, NY(Zone 7a)

Happgarden love that huge baby of yours!
Louise, your ee are bigger than mine, what do you feed them, lol, fish stuff too!

(Louise) Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

LOL Joyce, I don't know ANY Bassetts that can sit up! That is just too adorable. Dontcha just love dogs!?

(Louise) Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

Clemen, double dose of dynamite fert and weekly dose of miracle gro miracid. Mine are four seasons old too though.

Nassau County, NY(Zone 7a)

Wow Louise, huge, I really don't feed mine at all, so now I know your secret and double the recipe!!!!! Would have never thought of that! I lift my ee in the fall and they go dormant in the winter, have had them for years too!

South Coast, RI(Zone 6b)

Louise I’ve never seen miracid, I saw your MG’s on the other forum today and they are fantastic. Must be good stuff, for acid loving plants?

Joyce, Bass is just beautiful

Kansas City (Joyce), MO(Zone 5a)

Thank you guys, Bass is a sweetie and he taught himself to sit up.

Louise, what exactly do you use on your ee's? I have bunches of new ee's. How do overwinter yours?

Nassau County, NY(Zone 7a)

Happ garden, I lift mine put them in paper bags with lots of some sort of fungus powder killer and voila, they do overwinter alright in my cold garage!

(Audrey) Dyersburg, TN(Zone 7a)

I look at the large ee bulbs every year at WM and I don't get one. I think I will, next year!~They're not very much, 2 or 3 $, maybe 4.

South Coast, RI(Zone 6b)

Boy, I'm bad, I never feed mine and at the end of the season I pitch it. Buy new one the next year. I'm not good at overwintering things.

(Audrey) Dyersburg, TN(Zone 7a)

If you're gonna "pitch" it, try leaving it in the ground! It might surprise you! Mulch it really good!

Henderson, NC(Zone 7b)

Your baby is precious happgarden. Yep, I would love to make markers for everyone...NOWWWWWWWW where in the world will I get 200 cell phones, or remote controlls, or glasses? Do love the idea.

Kansas City (Joyce), MO(Zone 5a)

I am in zone 5 but someone in Missouri that is zone 6 she leaves her ee's in the ground and they survive. She does mulch them really well.

That would be so nice. Last year I kept them in pots and grew them all winter. They were very small then. Now would be more difficult.

Kansas City (Joyce), MO(Zone 5a)

Be careful what you ask for, remember what happened to AuntB....LOL

(Audrey) Dyersburg, TN(Zone 7a)

I have several prs. of glasses! But I usually try my hand at everything I see! Wonder how they'd look as fairy wings? The lenses?

Henderson, NC(Zone 7b)

Doe41, they should do great if they are large enough. Beats having to cut glass.

South Coast, RI(Zone 6b)

I always grow the EE’s in pots, never tried leaving them in the ground here. Maybe this year I’ll get them into the basement along with all the other things I have that needs to come inside. I have a feeling in the fall I not going to like carting all that stuff down.

Not sure if we could come up with all those devices but it’s a funny thought, just like the marbles.

Where is AuntB, she is among the missing.

Kansas City (Joyce), MO(Zone 5a)

I was thinking the same thing.
Must be busy after her vacation.

(Louise) Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

I leave mine in pots and bring them in. First year I let them go dormant. Next winter I kept them growing and making some leaves and that is when they took off size wise. You could always cut some of the leaves off when you brought them in. They were in smaller pots the first three years. This year big pots but still can lift them. Miracid is by miracle gro and I do believe they changed the name to miracle gro for acid loving plants. I have used it on all of my tropicals this year except my brugs and hibs, but am thinking about it for the brugs too. I bought it for my blueberries. I also used dynamite on everything and a double dose for the big eaters including the Brugs. My EE's were a paler green before the miracid. My hubby says the EE's are cool. Guess those are a non gardener's guy plant. lol He really could not care less about any of my plants. In fact I think he hates them come fall....lol...go figure.
