OK girls.. I am confused... lots of my brugs have that alternating leaf pattern but I don't see any blooms.. and I finally nipped one of my brugs, and it has Y'd..YAY.... well we'll see.. I HOPE!..LOL

Take care of yourself Becky and have a safe trip! The night blooming jasmine did bloom, just one tube for now but it does smell good. Lots more buds on it though. Seems to be an easy plant as long as it stays moist.
Thought I would post a pic of my sisters house this evening in Palm Bay Florida. Neighboring town to Melbourne where Fay was stalled. Her street is now a river!
SISTERS, she is born, yeap from a science fiction movie happgarden, i agree with you and I kept you all under suspense! i have too all night, BUT, she is amazing, looks gorgeous and huge, BUT, fragrance, not better that our bruggies, although, I brought the plant inside the house just to see her open and all and the fragrance is ALL OVER!
So now I'll post, will be off the cpu for a night or too sun baking somewhere on long island and thinking of my great hottie friends, cannot have better people like you guys around me! honest!

yep she is hunkered down not sure if the water will recede enough to get out. Still has power though, which is good coz she needs a machine at night to breathe, so we are all worried she might lose power and cannot get out.

Kim the Canna Australia is fantastic, Canna flowers are very pretty but I love the leaves. The reds are incredible.

Louise I hope your Sis has a backup generator, I heard those poor people got 2 ft of rain and it's an emergency situ in certain places along the coast. Clemen! It bloomed JUST for you, it knew you were getting off to the beach for a Long Island weekend! It's just gorgeous! I have hoya buds! First time for me.. I got home last evening and I had 4 or 5 brugs down!!!!! YIKES! Monster White who is loaded with buds and some of my other youngins'. It was so windy, I had to move them around to stabilize. No broken limbs or loss of buds that I could find. It is getting the time of year .. but for now, All is well ;) Becky, I missed you, too and everyone! I just got busy and I did spend some quality garden resting time, soaked all it's beauty and wonder in... peaceful! Did I miss something else? You're getting steroids and DH is getting a med... pump?? I thought I read through the whole thread. Hi Audrey! 1AnjL!!!! Look at your blooms!!! Congrats to you!! Aren't they just lovely?? I got a Phasion canna for $7.50 on clearance in early summer...it's done very well but no blooms, yet.. I like them more for the leaf effects, the blooms are like the cherry on top!

My sis is doing ok, no power outage. Have to call her and see if she could get out of her driveway this morning. They have not seen this much water since hurricane wilma! She said her co worker found a catfish on his lawn and he does not even live near a lake! I told her hopefully Fay won't be dropping snakes on people.

I do too. I just went out and discovered my double yellow datura is full of tiny blooms, so I will get that to bloom, but still waiting for any of my 12 brugs to do something. They are all growing like weeds, but that is all. Just a bunch of leaves.

Good evening everyone! It finally quit raining here. Went from 105 to 80s and lots and lots of rain. All the plants have on their happy faces again, but still no brug blooms. But the nekkid babies are putting on leaves, so I am pleased. Busy trying to get that new iris bed finished, in between rains, but it sure makes the digging easier.
Clem, that cactus is beautiful. I am confused, though, was that the cereus or did I miss something?

Phyllis, I’m not ready for this cold yet, it’s been hot, hot, hot here since June. It is such a drastic difference in the morning, tonight I was wearing a sweatshirt while watering and I was cold.
I keep it COOL in here! I put on a fleece jacket when I first get up, if I change the setting, I never get it back right! I can't breath in heat!
I'm not ready for the cold yet either...But I sure couldn't handle the heat like they get in Texas...
I was there in August once and I think they said the heat index was 110...
Off in the distance I saw the trees blowing and said oh good a breeze...
It was the first time in my life I ever saw a breeze hotter than the air already was...
I only had to be out of the car 5 min. and I was soaking wet....
I don’t like heat much either, still have the ac on in the house. I have to keep it closed up due to extreme allergies. I can’t breathe period…….. The only time I catch a break is in the winter and that’s only if there is no dust. Now we all no that just never happens.
