Yay! You did it!

South Coast, RI(Zone 6b)

Glad you found it okay Audrey. It's realy easy but I'm on dial up so it takes some time. I got thunder boomer here and my connection is a little scary right now.

(Audrey) Dyersburg, TN(Zone 7a)

I have to learn how to do that!

(AnjL) Fremont, CA(Zone 9b)

hey! i found you all!

I have a question... I am potting up 13 of my brugs today.... How big of a pot do you all put your biggest brugs in? 5 gal? 10 gal? 15 gal? I'm headed out to buy some bigger pots, just going to do nursery pots for now.... just need to know what sizes I will eventually need! lol!

also, when can I take cuttings? I have one brug who has a side shoot coming off the main branch. no buds yet. can I cut the side shoot and root it now? or best to wait til its cooler?

(Becky) Colmesneil, TX(Zone 8b)

TY Donna.. this is soo nice!!

Audrey.. I don't know how to do it either.. but maybe I don't want to learn..LOL I just learned to do the bold type.. and I was typing who wanted what plant I have for the RU.. and it took half of my list off!! Had to dmail administration.. they got it fixed... but now I have used my edits for the day!!..humph!..LOL.. BTW.. it was my fault... and how are you feeling??

Phyllis... ohhh I know you are soo proud of that sweet Gbaby!!.. She is sooo cute!!

(Phyllis) Osceola, PA(Zone 5b)

Question Hotties....
I've been looking up how to grow Devil's Trumpet from seed....
And they have Angels Trumpet There also....
I'm assuming that their kinda related??
So this will be a tree and not a vine??
Are they hard to get going??
Do I treat them like my Brugs...??
Maybe I should just do like I did with the Passi...went by the directions... nada
Got Mad....
Threw some seeds in a cup of dirt...called it a day...tada 2 seedlings...

South Coast, RI(Zone 6b)

Where did everybody go? I know its dinner time all over the US and all you hotties are cooking. I’m the only one eating Stouffers mac and cheese in front of the pc. It’s raining here so no dirt digging for me tonight.

AuntB so sorry your trip was cut short and you didn’t get to the ocean. If you ever have an ocean calling, you can come on over to RI. I’ve got miles of it right down the street.
I got an email from the DD right after I posted this afternoon. She got mail from the “Big Man” saying that she has been chosen to retrain to a new career field. Yuk, that is nasty news, 12 years in IM/Com and he says, no more of that for you, pick a field from this tiny list, pack up in 120 days, go the Mississippi to train and then you will get your next assignment. That’s life in the US military; they own you 24/7/365. When the big mans say jump. She says, “Sir, Yes Sir”.
I’ve gotten use to her getting moved all over the world, but I still don’t like it. Today’s technology makes it much easier than it was when she first went in.

Peg, Hope your eye gets better soon, is the surgery definite?

Louise, I’ve got a purple perilla, of course I don’t remember the name. Hope it reseed for me. I love it.

South Coast, RI(Zone 6b)

Wow, I finish typing and you’re all here. lol

South Coast, RI(Zone 6b)

Phyllis, Clem and I had mega trouble germinating dats but we did it. They like heat and light to pop up. I end up soaking them over night and throwing them on top of potting soil, watered them; left them in the sun and up they came. Here is a pic I took tonight right after the rain stopped.

Lovely!! Hey Phyllis I like the tada method lol.

(Phyllis) Osceola, PA(Zone 5b)

I just got a million seeds....LOL
And wanna try or wanted to try growing one of each....
But are they trees??

South Coast, RI(Zone 6b)

Anjl, I have E-pink in a very large pot, not sure of the gallon size but it holds 2 cubic ft. of potting soil. She'll need a bigger one soon as the roots are now coming out of the bottom. I going to the lg. drink tubs like AuntB uses next.

(Phyllis) Osceola, PA(Zone 5b)

I can just hear the DH saying...Not Again....LOL

(Kim) Philadelphi, PA(Zone 6a)

More like a bush.. I think mines are about 5ft now.

(Kim) Philadelphi, PA(Zone 6a)

No more pots for me in the ground they go then I will make giant brug cuttings in the fall : )

South Coast, RI(Zone 6b)

Dats are not trees like Burgs but large plants, they grow the largest in the ground. I have mine all in pot and the largest one is about 3 ft, but I was late getting them started. This is my first year with them so I’m just learning too. I have a thread in the Datura forum that has some good pictures and info, take a look there when you get a chance. They are annuals, not perennials like the Burgs.

(Phyllis) Osceola, PA(Zone 5b)

So They grow...Flower.... die off and you start all over again next year with a new plant??

South Coast, RI(Zone 6b)

I like your idea Kim and that thread you bumped was great. Makes me think twice about trying to keep them alive in pots in the basement. I murdered the one I pictured at the top of this thread trying to over winter from last season. Of course that was long before DG and all the good info I got here.

(Kim) Philadelphi, PA(Zone 6a)

Phyllis your SGD has such a sweet happy cutie face : )

My tiny Cereus...something likes the way it tastes.

Donna I had such a time keeping them in pots this past winter oh my what a task!! I killed about 13 cuttings ; ( This time gonna put them in bucket and see what happens. I do have some seedlings but they are small.

South Coast, RI(Zone 6b)

I’m not sure how long the life expectancy is in the south but up here yes that is what I’m planning to do. They grow really large very fast and flower soon. Clemen had hers flowering in early July, it just depends on when you get them started. I will start next April with heat mats, this year I didn’t use heat and waited forever for them to pop up.

Nassau County, NY(Zone 7a)

Wow, I found you again, Donna you trouble maker with a new thread, love everyone! Clem

P.S. Aunt B so HAAAAAPPPYYYY to see you back!

(Phyllis) Osceola, PA(Zone 5b)

Oh okay...I'm gonna have to think on this.....They look so pretty though...

(Kim) Philadelphi, PA(Zone 6a)

Those heat mats are great!! But brug seed don't like them.... guess how I found that out????

South Coast, RI(Zone 6b)

Kim, that’s a beautiful pic, you have some gorgeous plants there. Is that a pink plant a Coleus, I have one that looks like it that I picked (et ah) up at the mall, I have know idea what the name is. Do you know?

South Coast, RI(Zone 6b)

Ah Clem, Becky made me do it. Glad you found it okay

(Phyllis) Osceola, PA(Zone 5b)

Donna you sound so much like me.....
I came home the other night with cuttings of an Ivy and the DH just looked at me..
Well I was at the bank ATM machine and they just jumped into my hand...saying take me home..

(Kim) Philadelphi, PA(Zone 6a)

The mall huh ; } he he.....it's a chicken gizzard plant from placenciarita another DGer ... it grows like crazy and roots really easy!

(Kim) Philadelphi, PA(Zone 6a)

Lol! I have some coleus and lantana that stuck to my bag one day growing rather nicely ; }

South Coast, RI(Zone 6b)

No heat that’s good to know. I order some seeds to see if I could get some started this fall to keep in the house for the winter. I ordered the seeds and then did some reading, ha, I ordered Sanguinea seeds, they won’t live here. I don’t think I’m capable of doing anything right the first time.

The pink one looks like mine, it rooted fast and is growing well. Right along with a few other pieces that fell out of the big pot and into my bag.

(Phyllis) Osceola, PA(Zone 5b)

Can we be classified as plant fanatic's

(Kim) Philadelphi, PA(Zone 6a)

I rotted so many seeds last winter! Prolly will this time too : } lmk if you want some chicken gizzard.I will have to look up the botanical name.

Iresine herbstii..

The dats will come back from seed, if you let the seed fall. I would collect the seed after the prickly pod opens, and sow them where you want them next year! They are pretty plants, Mine are just the common ones, all creamy white.

South Coast, RI(Zone 6b)

I love the white ones, the grow so nice and big with those pretty white flowers. I have lots of space so I'm alway looking for plants that grow large fast.
How are you feeling Audrey? Better I hope.

Midwest City, OK(Zone 7b)

Dear Kim,
"Guess how you figured it out?" I have killed 9 bruigs since May, though the 103-105 temps did not help at all. That's why I bought three more, so if I kill them its only my babies and not someone elses. I hate this! I will eventually learn it, I really do good with other plants, but brugs are killing me.

According to admiin, my warning about profanty was #1, because I said I was "hot" with a swollen eye, and then #2, the final word,Terrie came in and said it was because I named a certain country in my thread, which can lead to a lot of griping, anti- for etc, which we do not do on a garden thread. If you want to do that, go someplace else. And I agree! It was all computer-generated because they have had problems. Thank goodness, I could not figure out what profanity or vulgarity I had used, even though I am profanity fluent in several languages.

So please, dear hotties, that is the end of that. Lov ya, Peg

(Phyllis) Osceola, PA(Zone 5b)

want some pretty ones...Doe??

Nassau County, NY(Zone 7a)

I love chicken gizzards!

(Kim) Philadelphi, PA(Zone 6a)

Me too Clemen!!..yummy :p

(Phyllis) Osceola, PA(Zone 5b)
