Sistah Jaye... did you make it home ok?
**SWEET INTERRUPTION** 12
Who is cookie?? I got lost.....I can't keep up with all Kathy's birds-tooo many!!LOL
Jaye... where are you sistah... missing you... and worried about you.... please let us know how your trip went yesterday...
Poor Casper... I think Mike will have to 'protect' him from his well intended aunties. Let him be a freebird like he is--be what he wanna be... Keep meddling and you all will make Casper a wisp of a ghost ;)
Sis...hard to eradicate mushrooms with the weather we've been having. You might have to assign a restricted area just for the kids to poot..
Got home late yesterday. And yes, thank you for the good wishes for the trip. It's so good, that I didn't spend much at the crafts stores. Kel's the buyer this time, he couldn't believe what's offered at the Hobby Lobby. I found the crafts books' aisle has shrunk. Guess they're making room for the fabric dept. The irony is..Jo Ann's next door and so is Wally World..
For the inconvenience of living in this one mule town... each time I come home from a metropolitan city.. I give thanks.
I don't miss the smog and the pollution. My allergies and sinus were so bad last night that it wasn't till an hour ago, my brains are back to normal.
Joey, thank you for the crinum and seeds. So, I have 2 pots now!! You are a sweetheart.
Think I'll try to finish my jars today..
Sorry BJ, it took me quite a long time to read and reply.
Love you for being so concern!! Love all of you in fact ;)
Yes-shame on you Tante Jaye-we were sorried:) Glad you had fun at the crafty stores-did Uncle Kel get me anything!!LOL ONe of these days you will be shocked when I just show up on an Aunties doorstep w/ money and a couple changes of clothes!!LOL
So glad you are home Jaye! Home your sinuses leave you alone today!
I fugured if nothing else you could use one of those pots for purging LOL
Have a happy day!!
Whew... good to know you're home... bad to hear your sinuses are bothering you... but yes, I always feel relief when I get home from the big city too... it's nice to be way out here..
Well I have been into the big city of Tallahassee today and am I ever glad to be back in the woods again.
Jaye, sure missed you yesterday and happy it was a good day. Tell your sinuses you just don't have time for them right now!!
Well, looks like we have to keep our heads up and eyes open for the next few days. Lady Fay is down in the Carribbean and might -just might not sure--come our way. Don't need a visitor right now for sure not her!!!
No Auntie M-no Fey!!
Joey...you worked hard on those pots. I don't think I'll use either for purging or as a neti pot!!
Maid Marion, I'm also anxious about Lady Fay..hope she's not going to be a reckless one. Some predicted for her to come towards this way.
This area here, every time there's a hurricane watch, the bread aisles will be empty in ALL the grocery stores.
Kel says he's stocked up with White Castle burgers;)
Oh no-Uncle Kel had white castle!!! Jaye-get your nose closer ready cuz we all know white castle makes the stinkiest tooters!!! DH is prohibited from White castle unless there is an all day outdoor activity planned!!
Well, I am watching Lady Fay, Jaye. I will have to do a massive yard pickup if we do get any but last post I saw on Noaa.gov shows it going more about where my Mom is or closer to Tampa. Of course, we all know that can change in a heartbeat!!
Same here with the bread and being a college town--the beer!!! One can always survive on beer, right? LOL
I hope Fay tuckers out before it gets to Fla and NC! She's not much right now, hope it stays that way!
LOL on the White Castles...but if you gotta stock up might as well meak it the good stuff!!
Guess your right, those magical crawfish probably don't need purging. But now Beignet and Praline don't have to fight, just tell them to be careful of the sharp parts on that first one!
Neti pot? Isn't that the thing for your sinuses? LOL if it works to make you feel better, you use it!
You don't know just how much we are hoping the same about Fay. However, it was just 4 years ago this month-infact the 13th of this month--that Charlie was headed up the coast and did a sharp 90 degree turn and hit Port Charlotte and Punta Gorda. That is the area I grew up. We were to leave that morning for Fort Payne AL to attend my SIL funeral. I got a call at 4:30 saying my sister could see the fence outside her house for the rain. It was all downhill from there!!!! So believe me, we are hoping!!!!
Looks like Fay will make a Catagory 1 by landfall at Florida... then will weaken back to a Tropical Storm... which can still be treacerous... so, please be careful
Here's the site we check for weather...

Actually, we have a weather station on our roof, which is the official weather for Cedar Creek Reservoir they read for the local news in Dallas... so, if you ever want to know what it's doing right here at my house, you can see it all here.

Wow, good information BJ. So what have you been up to today?
Trying to finish up my jars, so I can get them in the mail Monday... then, I need to start getting myself ready to TRAVEL...
Oh, and guess what... Don's trip to Denver has been cancelled... LOL
I invited him to Bessemer, but he said NO... I can go without him... LOL
Wow, everyone is mailing early with the jars? Guess I can finish mine then and mail before our trip.
Tell him we will be good if he wants to join us. Quite dignified if I have to be.
Nah... he's gone so much... he probably needs a break... he'll prefer to be home...
Besides, he better not make plans... the company will probably change his schedule again before then.
LOL you'll come home and he will have built you a second story to your house BJ!
LOLOL... OMG... I wonder...
I hope not BJ. Don't want you to return and find you have to do some roofing;)
Lolol!!
LOL... I just don't need more house to clean... we have enough square footage.
waving hello. worked in iris patch un til 5:30 am last night. Only have about 30 left to dig! piece of cake.
marion, hope Fay bypasses y'all, but we're expecting horribly needed rain from it! hope we get the rain. we had torrential rain Friday night - I went out at dark and getting the irises out was a breeze.....except huge lumps of clay came too, and were so heavy I almost strained something...back, knees, arms, groin, you name it!! that's why I was out so long - wasn't having to fight the clay to give up the plants. weeds came out easy, too.
all my iris shipments should send on Monday, as all that are going have been dug. harvested almost 500 so far.
My goodness Bon, you have been busy! 500??!! You need a rest my dear!
Bon, do put your feet up for a while. I know, I am always tempted to dig right after a rain as it is so much easier. Hope I sent that torrential rain as it started here Tuesday night and is still drizzling today. Wednesday and Thursday it was really heavy at our place.
Just keeping an eye on Lady Fay that is for sure. Remember Charlie, Francis and Jeanne all to well 4 years ago about this time.
Bonnie, dear... you're wearing me out... *sigh*... I'm just wore out thinking about what you're doing.
LOL... Marion... my son and his wife were on vacation in Jamaica when Charlie came through there... out of touch, and couldn't call from there... I didn't sleep till they got home... then they told me that they spent the worse part of the storm in the hot tub at the hotel, outside between two buildings... and just when I thought I had finally taught them to come in out of the rain.
Charlie passed right over where my Mom and sister lives. She called me once and told me to look outside that a beachball had flown over her house and was headed my way.
Was down 2 days later and that was some scary trip.
I bet it was... storms like that scare the bejeebees out of me... and their aftermath is devastating.
Yes, Mom and sister without electric 2+ weeks, I brought my Mom to stay with me and hubby til power was restored. Sister stayed and worked with the mess of downed trees and limbs and to take care of her animals.
I'm hoping this is a quiet 'cane season. I used to love them when I was younger. My Parran had a house that was made for them and we used to watch the wind and rain come up over the lake and have big parties, Katrina changed all that though, I never found out if that house made it. He passed away about 10 years agao and the kids sold it, It was probably condos by the time Katrina came along...
I can remember as a child having fun when storms were coming. Mom cooked on a wood stove and would cook for days so we would have food. We lived in the middle of a loop between 2 rivers which would flood, wash the bridges away and wala--no school for 2-3 weeks. I can remember one time water coming up in the house (and it was a raised house at that!) with minnows swimming around in the living room. Of course my parents had all the stress, I was having the fun!
For me Hurricane Andrew was enough!!!! We had the only generator that was shared between 2 families..just to keep the fridges and freezers going!!
Lord, I hope none of us will ever experience another bad hurricane.
Where were you in Andrew Jaye?
I was in Louisiana, but a few months before Andrew hit, I was in the Keys. Andrew must have had decided to bring some of that Homestead dust to me. Wished he hadn't done that.
Time for me to kiss the pillow. Y'all have a good night's rest now.
Good Night Jaye, gets some rest and I hope you get to feeling better!!
Nighty Night Jaye.
Rainbow Glass dreams Sistahs ;)
