lol I love friends who send weird messages. I'm thinking about going to bed, but my stomach is hot so I know what will happen when I lay down. I just ate some ice cream too. Tomorrow morning I'll start on my Prilosec regime, Lord I hope that gets rid of the problem.
Stop and visit, talk all you want. Pt 24
Oh, gosh, Terry. Too much drama for me, too. I will never understand people. Never.
I haven't watched any of the Olympics. I only watch the figure skating and horses. Be funny if they combined them.
Prilosec doesn't work for me. I have acid reflux and Aciphex is what I take. I tried afew others and this is the only one that does the trick.
It's nice when people are willing to share. We had a girl that lost her baby after it was born and a bunch of people donated their vacation time for her.
I'm trying to see if that is in one of my butterflies book. I have one for the KC region and one for MO. It's not in my KC book so gotta see if it's in my MO one.
That moth is driving me nuts. I can't find anything like it shape wise. I found several that looked like they could be related coloring wise but not shape. Grrrr..
LOL I posted it on several threads, it's a large Imperial Moth. I have to say, it is large. It's easy to mistake it for a leaf, you don't see it unless you look directly at it. It's awseome.
Here's a picture of a Luna Moth I got earlier today. It flew out of the woods by my driveway and landed in the grass.
Hello girls!!
Yes, too much drama and it drives me absolutely batty. Some people seem to thrive on drama and gossip, and I shy away from it. My brain can't handle it all! I also don't understand people that lie. And when they're caught in a lie, they try their darndest to get out it. Kills me every time. How do they keep all those lies straight in their heads?
Had a funny happen last night while visiting with Phyl. She's hard of hearing and it seems never has her darn hearing aid in, so I have to talk loudly. I'm used to that, Krista is hard of hearing also and sometimes she takes her hearing aid off too. My grandma was 98% deaf in one ear and couldn't hear out the other☺ So there the 2 of us are, in Phyl's room, (she has to herself), and the woman across the hall started hollering. Kept repeating "Shut up!! Go to bed!! Don't you know it's time to go to bed?? SHUT UP!!", she got to where she was actually screaming. It's probably about 7:15pm when she starts this. Phyl can't hear her, so I tell her. I'm trying to be quiet so the woman across the hall can't hear me, but it's impossible because then Phyl can't hear me☺ Phyllis told me the woman doesn't get along with her roommate at all, and she was probably fighting with her. Sooooo, not much later, I looked behind me at the clock and it's 7:30pm and I tell Phyl I should go on home, she can have her breathing treatment before she gets too tired of sitting in her wheelchair. KIssed her goodbye, told her I loved her and walked out of the room. I got maybe a room/doorway up the hall, and I hear, behind me, somebody saying "I'm so sorry!!". I turned around and it was an aid and her face is red, as if she's embarrassed. I asked her, "sorry about what?" And she says "the woman was yelling at you and Phyllis!!" I could only laugh☺ and I said "OH, that's who she was yelling at!!" I couldn't stop laughing though☺ Then she told me this woman thinks everybody should be in bed and falling asleep by 7pm. Well, ya know ROFL There was a woman across the hall when my grandma was in the nursing home and she was always hollering at me to be quiet. I finally walked across the hall and apologized. I also told her that my grandma couldn't hear, so I had to speak loudly so she could hear me. It didn't matter to the woman though. She was really rude to me. I told her that my grandma always told me that rudeness only begets rudeness, she was very quiet then. She never said a word after that. When I told my grandma what I said and why I said it, she said "that's right!". Along with a little hmph, which if you saw my grandma, is equally as funny☺ Tonight, I noticed the woman across the hall from Phyl had her door closed. I'm guessing it was because she was told last night that not everyone goes to bed at 7pm and she could always close her door. It's just one of those things that shouldn't make me laugh so hard, but it does, nonetheless.
I've got some different birds visiting my yard because a lot of my plants have grown up some and are now bearing fruit. The birds have been feasting. When I left today to run up to the pharmacy, I saw a female cardinal in my prairie. I had a House Wren in the backyard last night and another bird I've yet to ID. None of the dang HOSP though! YIPPEE!! Which reminds me, when I left, it was just before 3pm and I had my camera and I was hoping that the bank hadn't taken "Sparkles" in yet. sigh. I parked at 3:02pm and he was gone. Other stores were open, so I did get some shots of them. I don't have them on here yet though. I'm hoping to make a run up there tomorrow to get a shot of that beauty, then download them all. Then you can see the difference. Actually, it's such a huge difference, and they don't compare at all. None are done like my Sparkles is done. He would look so good in my garden, but I know he's going to go for a lot of money. Yes yes, to a good cause, we simply don't have upwards of a thousand bucks laying around to "donate" to charity. darn it all anyway☺
pepper, told ya before and I'll tell ya again...lol...doesn't matter to me what you plant in your yard. You know I do have 2 iris' here, one from my friend in TN the other was here, also a small piece of a mum that's also from him, but barely hanging on, and there were also peony's all along the foundation. I left one, a white one. Want to plant a really lovely magnolia? 'Jane' is her name and she's a beauty. I had her in TN. Not enough yard and too many indigenous plants on my must have list, to plant her here. Roses, I adore shrub roses, the others require too much care and get too many diseases. 'Bonica' is a really nice shrub rose. 'Miss Kim' lilac is beautiful and smells wonderful. So, you see, there are many many non-native plants that I too truly love. It's that I've made the decision for here, to plant almost [all] indigenous plants to this area. BUT, and that's a really big but, that's MY choice. I don't make your choices. All I ask of anyone is to please research and research some more, to make sure a plant isn't on their state's invasive list. My grandma had a honeysuckle in her backyard and I loved that plant dearly. I searched and I searched for what kind of honeysuckle it was. Then I learned what it was, 'Hall's' honeysuckle, and that it the Kudzu of the lower part of IL and many other states as well. It's illegal and prohibited from being sold in this state. So, as with my grandma herself, I hold the memory of her honeysuckle in my heart and it lives there.
I've been doing so much running here and there, that I haven't truly had the time I want to spend in my own yard. It's alright though, what I'm doing is more important at this time.
Crissy, sorry 'bout all the troubles you're experiencing! I hope it all goes away and no more surgery is needed.
Celia, that's wonderful that people you worked with were so willing to give up their time off to the woman in need. Nothing is more heartbreaking than to lose a child. No matter the age of the child. The hardest thing a parent could ever do.;(
There was something else I was going to tell you all, but it's flown of my head. So, I'm off to bed. Have a great rest of the night everyone who's still up!
Celia, it's a great car BUT....it's a CHEVY!!! LOLOLOL. Better off with Fords. :~p. Actually Corvettes have great engines that don't break down very often. There are some people I know who buy up vehicles and restores them before taking them to auctions and they very rarely have to do any major overhauling to Corvette engines.
And my sister had such a car. She loves old beetles, VW bugs, that are restored and more power added. Her most recent one, was bought from a guy down in Georgia. It had mostly a 'vette engine. Our brother had a 'vette, back in the mid 70's.. It had been our uncles, then uncle sold it to a guy who was into showing and my brother was pretty upset. It didn't take long and the guy was bored with showing it. When my brother bought it from him, it only had something like 14 miles on it since the car guy bought it from our uncle. And I have to tell you. I hated that car. It had the exhaust down the sides, and boy oh boy, did they get hot! I've already got a nice big burn on my leg, thanks to my brothers motorcycle and a spill we had when I was only 12. So sitting in that low rider and then trying not to hit hot exhaust with my short little legs, well, I didn't much like it. It felt every bump in the road. Like the Princess who felt the pea under 20 mattresses, so was this car. LOL BUT, I've got a 10 yr. old 'Stang. It also sits down low. No hot exhaust down the sides though. And I love it. I really should get a picture of my baby so I can show you all. Everybody knows it's me, because of the color. It's like a Pepsi can blue, with white at the bottom of the sides that say "Mustang". Not a GT, but it's got everything in it, except the engine, that a GT would have. She's loaded with all the options in other words. Well, that a 10 yr. old GT would have. I guess they don't do the Mach Stereos in them anymore. Shame. I love mine. Celia, have fun in that! Take her for a spin, by your lonesome and watch the different guys who wave wave and wave some more LOL It never fails...lol☺
I remember what I wanted to tell you all. We've been watching some rented new released movies. 'P.S. I Love You' and 'Reign Over Me'. Watched some others, but these 2. My gosh. Get yer Kleenex's ready! I did already mention that I'm a crier, haven't I??☺☺☺ With those 2? Especially 'P.S. I Love You', I couldn't stop. Chick flicks. And John always watches them with me☺ '21' is another that we've seen. It was really good too.
Good morning! We've already had people waving at us! LOL On the way home with it some girls were shouting at Darrell when we went by. I couldn't here what they said but they were smiling. Then, 2 blocks later 3 guys stopped what they were doing and watched us and waved! LOL If you look close in the pic, the guy across the street had stopped mowing to watch me take pics.
We're going to love it. Terry, I want to see your baby. Mom had a '68 Mustang. She LOVED it.
And I'm sorry, Crissy, we won't have a Ford in our driveway unless it's a 'Stang. Even then, it would have to be an older one. Chevy or Japanese. Or Itallian...but we can't afford those! LOL
Anyway...I'm here for two more hours. When do you go back to work Crissy? And how are you feeling? Did the nasty stuff go away yet?
Hi Everyone!!
OH Now Celia, What a Beauty!!
Aww Crissy, i hope the poison get out of your system. Very nice of the people at work to handle things for you. Give you their time to help you out.
We did that for a woman who's sister was in a horrific car acident many years ago. Anyway you just get better.
golly, forgot already everything I've read.
This weekend i am going to be alone!! First time in ages. So I guess I'll spend some time in the yards, I plan on working a couple of crafts that i sort of laid aside. Collect my thoughts on the direction i will need to take soon. (work)
Oh now, I know...Crissy, you have some beautiful moths. Had green one like that up in Wisconsin. It is beautiful, only ours we only saw at night! That yellow beauty is LOL, I dunno. But it is very pretty hope you find out what it is.
I though it was a leaf at first too.
Terry, I hear ya on the Drama. Can't handle a whole lot of it myself.
All one can do is be themselves. Help whoever wants/needs help and know youv'e done your best.
As far as my weeds, Well mostly it was my neighbor who lives across the street! He sometimes goes to my next door neighbors to "visit" when really he is looking for something to complain and call the village. We are his prime targets because we dare to park our car in front of our house! The guy is just an ancient cold hearted person. Takes being the neighbor watch a bit too overbored. He walk around our property while we are not home. But I just let him do his thing, no sence arguing with him because he is NEVER wrong with "his" opinions. So, the village has to make a drive out to see that my weeds are gone. Usually, I have very pretty gardens but this summer, i haven't been here long enough to maintain my yards. What I did have the deer ate it up...And really, thats what they are all mad about. Because of my plants and theirs , i have lots of critters. Racoon, chipmunks, an actual herd of deer. not to mention all the birds. I mean come on. They hate the fact that we allow the animals to come into the yard. I do not have gates and I don't plan on putting any up eighter. What can i say, It's nature. Not to mention that i am nt the meticulous gardener type. If a branch falls, well it stays there until i can pick it up. (meaning I don't run right out there the minute it drops). i don't use chemicles of any kind on my lawns, and they see my wild flowes, as weeds. We obviously have a very different stand point on gardens and what they should look like. LOL, Thats my Drama...Pretty stupid if you ask me. I hate suburbia, but the schools are excellent other wise I'd be in the country as fast as i can pack! which is pretty darn quick.
Oh and my other argument just cuz im on a roll, is all of my wild is in a contained spaces. (garden beds) And as long as they keep out they should't spread anywhere else. It's not like I toss seed just anywhere. I do have a reason, and well since i don't tell them what to plant or where, i am simply offended they didn't have the guts to talk to me about what they concider weeds, instead they got to lodge an ananomous(lol i know thats spelled wrong) complaint...Seriously, this guy has got to get a real life.
Well they are gone, so my season is kind of over now too. will just feed my birds and watch the rest fade. I have been enjoying friends gardens all over Daves now so at least i get to see some pretty gardens...
Well hoping for a project so will be back later.
Have a good day.
Sorry you're going to be alone, Judy. Take some time to just relax and be you. Call me later. I'll be at work but I don't care.
Alone? What's that? Never heard of the concept. Is that when you're in the bathroom and no one interrupts you? No dog, no kid, no husband?
Can't say as I would of had a problem with your gardens at all. Mine looks the same☺ My shrubs and trees are small right now, but I can't see anything different happening as far as the town goes or the neighbors anyway. Heck, our neighbor wants our yard! Since the guy in charge of all this stuff here in town is a good friend and we've been at his house, I know what his looks like too. Not a whole lot of difference..except the native thing. He's got a few, but not a lot. He also likes to use weed and feed every now and again. It's his yard and if he so chooses, then alright. None of the people on this street are much in the way of gardeners anyway. Not many use any herbicides or anything, so I do get a lot of real weeds in here. I spent this morning pulling up a ton of that night shade stuff. Hate it. When we were done and relaxing on the back porch, I got my Bird Identiflyer. I started by playing or calling, for the Bluejays. None answered me. So, I started calling for Cardinals. And here they came☺ We "chatted" back and forth for about 5 minutes. John was so dumbfounded, it cracked me up. Your neighbor man sounds like how Phyllis' husband Stacy was when they first moved in. He met Krista first, then me. And yes, I argued with him☺ Hey, if somebody is wrong, they're wrong! It wasn't done in meanness and he knew it. He used to holler at me because I didn't get up at 4am with John, to get his breakfast. Should of seen his face when I replied that John was a big boy. He knows where the cereal is and he knows where the bowls are and he also knows where to find the milk. And by golly, he can pour the cereal into the bowl, pour milk over it, and actually eat it! All by himself!! It wasn't too much longer after the 100th time of me saying that to Stac, that Phyllis asked me to guess what? I gave immediately and she told me that Stac told her she know longer had to get up at 3am when he was going hunting or fishing or looking for morel mushrooms or wild raspberries or huckleberries or or or, any longer. ROFL☺And that, my friends, still cracks me up to this day☺
Went up to the bank today. I also took a picture of my car. I'll do my car first, then the cats and dogs. My car is a '98 Mustang. Low mileage for a 10 yr old car and in excellent condition.
O.k. now on to the cats and dogs. They're all over in front of businesses here in town, so I took a few, just to show the difference. "Sparkles" will be last, you always save the best for last!
WOOHOO!! CUBS WIN CUBS WIN!!!!
They aren't marked (number of picture) the same on the browser below as they are in my picture folder and I have no clue why.
Another dog..all these are before I even hit the side street to come home. And not all of them either. The cat above and this dog are behind me, up on Main St. and across the street. I'm east of Main, those 2 are on the West side of Main, but on Main St.
this dog is odd. Those are twigs, glued on, I'm guessing, at the base of the roller base.
Pictures absolutely do no justice to how beautiful this cat is. I should of gotten down on my knees. I would look rather silly, downtown, on my knees, in front of one of the banks☺ So anyway, there you have them. Did I tell you one looks like a sheep? Other end of town, almost by the railroad tracks. I found out today, people were stopping me as I took photos of Sparkles☺, and told me that one that looks like a sheep, is supposed to be a sheep dog.
LOL, that is quite the array of cats and dogs in your town.
I think sparkles is cool!
Love the car too, Gorgeous color.
Alone, ahhh, well the concept is not that new to me. I am alone alot in the fall and winter months.
But yep, no one around for the whole weekend. DD going to Rockford for a visit, leaves tomorrow back on Sun. DS leaves on Friday night with DH back on Sun. My eldest DD works on Friday and then off to friends for weekends...so it's just me!! LOL, I like it at times but the first is so hard after all the running and getting everything done. And I've go to say that Alone feeling is only nice for a couple of hours.
But i will enjoy it for now too...was just making the comment I guess.
OK...Celia, I'll give you a call. Big grn, Thanks!
Terry, that lady yelling "Shut Up" reminds me about the old lady across the hall from me when I was in the hospital. Instead of pushing the "Nurse" button she would just start yelling, "Help, Help, I need HELP!" She had one of those voices that sounded like the old "Helen" commercials. One night I was woken up by a nurse yelling at her that she had to stop yelling, she wasn't the only person in the hospital, and she was to push the Nurse button or no one was going to show up any more. She was quiet from that point on.
Nice Celia!!!! I grew up with a 1956 Chevy, originally had side pipes. I love side pipes, I wish they still made cars with them LOL I like the sound. When the side pipes became illegal in CA sometime in the '70's, he put glass packs on it, now those are illegal but it'll probably never run again anyway. I used to drag race, so I'm all into cars, big time. Don't be sorry to me, I can't stand Fords, never have. I was raised with Chevy and Toyota, so I have a Nissan and a Toyota!
I work from 8am to 4:30pm. Great day, I didn't have any problems at all, none! Woo Hoo! Just the bruised feeling in my lower belly. No biggie

Mine was sitting in the garage for 2 weeks, saved mileage and gas there! I love those older trucks, just don't have the means for one. Dave traded in his 2001 Celica for the Tundra, that isn't a 4x4, and he loves it. It's big, comfortable, and rides really nice. Too bad he's commuting in it, I'd like him to get a little hooptie of some sort, but he doesn't want to.
It doesn't look totaled to me!
My grandfather (mom's dad) was a Ford man, he had a brown w/ white top '76 Ford F150 Camper Special. That was a good truck, and when he totaled it by having a heart flutter and ramming it through a brick barrier wall in 1996 it only had 65,000 miles on it. He let the insurance take it. The damage was to the hood, grille, and a headlight, the rest of the truck wasn't even damaged and they totaled it. My grandfather figured the hood alone cost more than the whole truck did. My grandmother had quit driving by then, and he had a heart problem, so he didn't need it anyway, but still.
That pic was taken some time before the wreck. Back when I was restoring. I won't post pics of my wreck on here cause they are very graphic. If you want to see a few send me your email and I will scan them.
OMG!!! You all are showing off cars all day! LOL That's pretty cool.
Judy, call me again. I'm so sorry, Hon. We were in the middle of something and I couldn't answer. I feel bad.
Terry, those dogs and cats are something. I LOVE Sparkles! LOL Does someone in town make those? Did I miss that somewhere?
Here's my Toyota Tacoma...2002, 4WD, moonroof, tow package, bed liner, RW Differential....my baby. And he's paid for.
Celia, I don't remember the name of the artist on Sparkles. I've heard that area people painted them. If you notice, Sparkles doesn't have a lick of paint on him! The other are, well, just boring. That white one up there? I took that from my car window, waiting at the stoplight. I had a really good chance to study it. It's basically painted white, then whoever the "artist" is, made paw prints in various colors. There's another one that I couldn't get a shot of. Too many cars parked in front of it. It took me parking in front of it, about 2 weeks ago, to see that what I couldn't figure out about the darn thing, was that it had musical notes painted on it. All white, with black musical notes. I don't know. Maybe it's just me. All the others look like someone splattered paint on them, not really an artist at all. But Sparkles? He is so awesome and everyone in town is in love with him.
I used to drive a Toyota. But after having 3 and each one of them being totaled, well, that was enough. They were all Toyota Corollas. First 2 were 4 doors and boy did I hate them. Made me feel like a grandma. The last one was the sporty 2 door one, but it was also totaled. None of them lasted more than a year and somebody would pull out in front of me or slam into my rear. I used to tease John all the time. He drove a '72 Mustang Mach 1 when we first met and when we got married, he kept it until Krista was about 3. Funny thing is, it was the same exact color that mine is now! He loved that thing. He's driving a '03 Ford Ranger, extended cab. We moved to TN, my car doesn't hold much in the way of trees and shrubs, so I drove his '01 'Stang home and bought that. Both of ours were bought and paid for same day. The reason I teased John was because I had always heard F O R D, Found On Road Dead..lol. Never had a problem with my car at all. John hasn't had a problem, but he hates that dumb truck. He isn't exactly a truck guy. He grew up on a farm and all farmers drove trucks, except his brother and him. His brother now drives a truck though and it ticks John off that both of them are driving trucks☺ Reminds me of when I was buying paint and the clerk was carrying out the cans for me. I went on the passenger side to get the trunk and the clerk was on the passenger side of the van, beside me to the right. He didn't come over to or stop at my car where I stood, he stopped at that mini vans side door parked beside me..lol..first I hollered, hello??!!..and then I asked him if I really looked like someone who'd drive a mini van?!! He told me he didn't really think so, but thought that was where I was going. Too funny. My best friend used to drive a mini van, after years of driving a Firebird. I mean honestly! Who does that? I hated having her drive anywhere. How embarrassing. Like we're a couple of yuppies. Just me and my own personal opinion. But we all know the saying about opinions right?? ROFL
Which also reminds me looking up Celia, after our first Toyota was totaled? It didn't look bad on the outside and that's not why they totaled it. They totaled it because of all the slamming around in there that I did. Before seat belts were the law and they drove me crazy. Always up around my neck, choking me. Wore a seat belt from that day on though.
Judy, here's something to help you, I hope. When I'm alone, I'm not lonely. Alone is a much better feeling, that of being secure with ones own self, then of being lonely. As long as I have me? I'm fine. I'm never bored with myself. Always find something to amuse myself. Make sense? If it doesn't? Girl, the train comes right straight into town. I promise you, you won't be alone or lonely! You can sit outside with me and we can chat with the birds. Or we could go to the antique stores/mall here in town. We could take a drive out to Hornbaker's and I promise not to complain too much on their lack of any native plants☺ We can rent movies and watch them all day if you want to.
You know what helps me drive on ice pepper? A 70 lb bag of sand in the trunk. Or there's always some big burly guy (or 2) that comes to my aid and "rescues the damsel in distress". Gotta love this little town! I remember, I was in my very first apartment and it was New Years Eve. We had gotten dumped with snow. Roads were closed all over, but I didn't know it yet. No garage and I had to pull up in the yard, so the snow plows could get thru. The snow was about half way up the door of my Subaru, and no matter how much rocking I made her do, she wouldn't budge out the yard. Out of nowhere comes some guy in a Caddy. Asked me if I needed help getting on the road. To which I replied yes, of course. I did, after all, have a very important party to go to! He gets a chain out of his trunk, hooks onto my car and to his, and pulls me to the street. Then I found out all roads are closed, so the band wasn't even going to make it to town. Or, how about the time I missed my turn in the snow. Same Subaru, probably the next year or might of been the same year. I thought I knew where the drive was that I was pulling in to to turn around, but I missed it and slid down in the ditch. And again, out of nowhere, comes 2 guys, who proceed to lift my car out of the ditch. I swear. Subaru's of olden days are not Subaru's of now. Tin-ny little thing, that car was. Hated it. Orange? It was given to me by my parents, so I didn't complain. Well alright, you got me. Yes I did complain. I wanted the Camaro, but nooooo (she says sarcastically), it had to be this cheap 'ol Orange Subaru!!☺
Visited with Phyllis for about 3 hours tonight. She and I can talk and talk and talk and talk and talk some more☺ We're having some pretty good weather for August. Mostly in the upper 70's. Of course a storm had just started when I pulled out of the garage and I had to make a run for the door, in the pouring rain! I looked like a drowned rat☺
Off for tonight. Have a good rest of the evening for everyone still up!
I think I'm off to bed, too. Been up way too late too many nights.
Terri, you are too cute for words!
Thanks.
LOL, I am pretty comfortable to be alone. Not just not used to it as always got something going on.
Hosehold of five keeps us mighty busy, but then Yikes all of the sudden nothing.
Wow, a concept that I can do what i want? unheard of!
ROFL, i am going to watch tv (Lifetime) listen to music and all at the same time too.
Hey, Celia...Don't feel bad.You were working!
I appreciated the thought of chatting with you.
Maybe i'll give ya a ringle jingle in a few...LOL if your up.
Well got to get rolling, yuk, laundry screaming to get done.
Want some coffee and a piece of cake?
