Outtamygourd-I have that Calendula “Zeolights” this year also, and it’s in full bloom here.I also have “Indian Prince” Calendula-a darker orange one.
Tilly-2 weeks ago in Bellingham,my sister’s Crocosmia was in full bloom. The hummingbirds sure love it.She has the red one.
This one is Calendula "Indian Prince"
Thanks Ned good news, mine are orange, and a Hummers feast Love, to watch them. Love the Calendula, have never tried it before.
Great pics all. Now
Gordon I have no clue, what is a Nigella? Like It !!!
Bea Which Delf. Is it? I love blue. I have 'Black Night'
The start on the new Dahila and Iris bed, the wall is going up. Have to get it done before the Iris order shows up. LOL

Ditto on the Negella. That is really strange...I love it!
Nigella is one of those perennials that will keep on giving. If you sprinkled seed now, you'll have it in your garden for a long time. Not invasive in my garden, but like California poppies, it's always happy to grow for you. Very feathery foliage, and no special care.
I can save the pods for anyone that wants some.
Looks more like a Kaffir Lily to me than a crocosmia or montbretia. Lovely color . .
Outta-Crocosmia (Montbretia) has multiple flowers along one stem. That looks more like a lily.
Hey Ned!!
What's the weather up there?
It has started raining after a week of really nice weather.Must be the fall rains,as it's supposed to rain all week, just like it rained most of the summer.
I think my photos aren't accurately depicting the plant. There is a long slim stem with multiple blossoms along the stem. You can kind of see it in picture #5397767. Flowers are blooming from the bottom toward the tip of the spike. I've googled Kaffir Lily and it doesn't look at all like that. Has long slim leaves, not fat at all. Flower is about 1-1/2" across. All the buds from the close-up are on the same stem. Still a lily?
I see it.I guess it is Crocosmia.
I still think it's more of a lily. The flowers are too far apart for crocosmia, imho.

Whaddya think?
Ned, surely you jest!! Not fall yet!!
HI All
Well thankfully for me, the weather was just right as I had tons of Siberians, some daylilies and a few spuria to dig today.
Did not get all the sibs cleaned, bagged etc but will finish and ship those tomorrow total count was 227 total plants.. some of the sibs had 20 to an order...
Then on to working on the iris.
The deer have gotten into the veggie again and that is with a 8' fence so next year only pots and onions and garlic I guess. I love the deer but want my veggies.
Pray that come sept it is hotter than all day lights since that is when we growers up here dig and reset iris for the next year...
All the flowers are lovely. Have lilies, phlox, sunflowers, morning glories, etc all in bloom
D
Hi Dee -
It must be beautiful there. Maybe you could take your camera with you tomorrow? Hint hint.
8' fence. I'm with you - I love the deer, but wish they weren't such great athletes. That's pretty crazy.
Well with all the digging and getting the orders out I do not have much time except on Sundays...maybe this Sunday I can take my camera with me.
The daylilies are still in bloom heavy and the lilies I love...getting more of them and ordering more oriental poppies. Getting a ton of delphs from grower to help his business and will plant a roll of different colored one nothing like you can get here, as these are from England and New Zealand hoping for the one that is white double with black bee:)
D
I am growing a Regale Trumpet Lily, and it has got to be 6 feet with 6 big 7 inch flowers on it, a light pink! It is growing next to my 20 foot butterfly bushes(2). A lilac color. And thank goodness for all the rain lately, my lawn sure needed it, as well as my front garden.
Have any of you grown Godizilla lily! At friends house it was 8' tall before the bloom
D
I think Tils has it right.
Well, she said it had been given to her as "Crimson Flag", which is schizostylis or kaffir lily. Mary, you wouldn't have called it that if you had given her montbretia, right?
Katie59, sorry I know the Diff, The one and only one I have came from a dear friend and has one name, So maybe it was not from me, I do not have any Kaffir Lilies so I can't share or trade. And not real sure if I gave her any to start with, did not keep track where my plants went when I traded.
Tills
So pretty, to cool.
Hi everyone.. Still not sure what I'm doing. But I Love all the pics
and Helpfulness...
Hi Hippi, welcome. Don't worry, you'll catch on in no time. And if you need help, everyone is very happy to lend a hand. I'm fairly new too and I am so glad people have been so eager to help.
Nice pics Beahive, love the sunflower.
