Another calendula but don't know which one because the label blew away.
Whats blooming part 5
This is the possible sisyrhinicum I posted on another thread. Laurie thought maybe the brown tufts were seed heads but I think they may be the flower. I looked at it today and found what appear to be more blossoms coming on. I'll have to watch it closely every day for flowers, then maybe get a positive ID. Here's the brown tufts.
See you made it, LOL
Was thinking maybe ' a little worried about jumping in'
Been there done that, made my mistakes, lessons learned go on. Have fun and Injoy. What we all love most its eye candy (pics of everything, pets, kids, wildlife, bugs, (hem maybe not bugs) but mostly plants. And sharing projects and hopeful help on IDing plants.
Wonderful Pics All.
Great pics Sheri, the one with the red stems, know it but can't place it as yet.
This one I can't remember the name, have it in a file.
Tills
I think it's a tiger lily Tils.
Tiger lilies and the last looks like Crimson Flag, I think, Tills. I have some blooming but not prolifically yet. . .My tigers are ready and one will open this weekend but the rest are still in a holding pattern.
Sheri, The last is Montbretia (crocosmia)
No before the kitty
^_^
nice kitty you have 'growing' there tills! lol!
Sheri, nice pics. Ned suggested that your mystery plant might be a rush, but from the pics it looks like the rushes are all round-stemmed. The flat nature of the leaves eally makes me think sysirinchium, too. But I haven't seen blossoms like that. I love it!! And I want some when we find out what it is. LOL
Welcome to Soloman and Bea. :-) And I have no idea what your senior center garage sale plant is, but I'll be interested in hearing. It looks a little bit like some variety of chaenomeles or flowering quince.
Mary, Ratso looks like he fits perfectly in that box. It was made for him.
To bad he won't sprout, I miss baby Kittens. LOL
Night all.
Wouldn't that be a surprise!!
Seri, so glad the strawberries are doing well. The first year, it would probably be better to snip off the runners so the plants will get well established. You could let them go next year to create more plants.
Yep, that is the color of the Day Dawn potentilla. They start out that peachy cream, and them fade to pale cream.
I love the soft yellow of that Day Dawn, too. Such a nice color.
Holly, I've heard that you should only use a strawberry plant for one or two years and then move to its offspring to get the best yield. Do you find that to be true?
My strawberries did pretty well for about 4 years, and now I have established a new bed with offshoots. It is good to have an overlap year, where you still keep the older plants for harvesting while the new ones are settling in. Unfortunately, I have had deer breaking and entering, even though I have a 7 foot deer fence. Of course, they are devouring the leaves on my new plants, and leaving the old ones that I am going to pull out completely alone.
OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH, I get it - noid - NO I D(ea). No idea. Got it. I've been puzzling over this for months - I thought all these lilies had been reclassified in a sub-group as noids. And then I saw that other plants that were not lilies were also noids - and then just about to log off, and the penny droppied - NO ID! Right. I'm right up there with all you wits - clever. Boy I hate being the last one to the party.
That is too cute, Laurie!!
Or just plain dumb! (But thank you katie - I like your's better).
LOL Laurie after all this time I thought you knew, course I can't say I knew all along took me awhile to catch on. Its No Identifcation. But we know what it is, but not the fancy name that came with the tag. ^_^
Tills
Don't feel dumb Laurie, took me a while to get it too.
Thank you all.
