Helena - I was looking at all your beautiful bloom photos again! Amazing!!! I really love them all!
I wanted to mention something to you ... I am noticing some tiny spotting on some of your leaves. It looks like you might have spider mites. (I get spider mites occasionally on my Brug leaves, so that is why I noticed it.) Not sure if you do or not, but here is a good website for anyone that thinks they might have those little buggers on their plants:

And y'all know me ... I am leaning more and more towards organic control of pests and diseases ...
New MG's for me 2008 #4
Thanks Kamikid, mayniac 69. I'm expecting the unexpected more & more in this mg's.
Thanks Becky, I do have bugs on some of the mg's and will give it a good shower on them after I take a few more pictures.
Thanks for all the info Emma and Ron. I believe I have crosses on Velvet Plum b/c that's all that on the envelope.
Only got a few pic's before my camera batteries died.
This greeted me this morning:
Akatsuki No Tsuyu-NOT
Helena -
Your Akatsuki No Tsuyu-NOT is awesome.
You should tag that bloom if you haven't already.
Emma
Helena - Emma is absolutely right on about your Akatsuki No Tsuyu-NOT! It has some very beautiful attributes! Your photo was a little washed out, so I enhanced it by darkening it a bit to see what the colors and pattern might look like. Is this how the bloom might really look? If so, it is quite lovely and very elegant looking! :-)
Helena -
You are still out-doing yourself *-*
Just incredible blooms you are getting.
This one to me still looks like it has the characteristics of 'Jordin Rose'
http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/fp.php?pid=5379154
Is this Purple? or Blue?
AWESOME!
http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/fp.php?pid=5379209
If Blue, it could be 'Star of India' and Ron can confirm that but may need to see more blooms.
http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/showimage/84606/
If Purple - I've never seen one with this color - so possibly a *new cross* ???
I would LOVE some of these seeds if you have enough to share because it looks very much like blooms I got from my Henka Blue Type - that threw all kinds of different blooms when I grew it out next. Many different colors and patterns [Including Gray Morning Mist] and most with a Margined Picotee Edge as yours has.
Emma
Helena - If the color is true and it is the lovely purple as shown in your photo, please tag any more blooms you get like this one: http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/fp.php?pid=5379209 Beautiful color! I would genuinely love a couple seeds from this one if you get enough.
Just curious ... how many different MGs are you growing right now?
Thanks Emma & Becky. I will tag them for both you. I thought that the blue might be Star of India. I think I have 3 different vines growing together. Mistake I will not make for next year. I haven't counted the vines but I have a lot. They're in the back yard & side yard. I'll try to count them later. I have not planted except for the little mg's that have reseeded in the front yard &front side yard.
Todays bloom.

verry preetty plants! I don't get to see much of them often up here in Canada up close. They have so much patterns going on!
I'm a new mg fan also...are these the "tye-dye" colours? and are they from the same plant?
btw, what's the name/cultivar of blue mg that you posted above?? http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/fp.php?pid=5360351

No the tie dye pink is from a different vine. Alot of them have different patterns on the same vine. I'm not good at explaining since I'm new at growing them. Also I'm growing vines that have crossed pollinated & not IDed or no names.
The blue one is called Akatsuki no Tsuyu. It's really pretty.
My Plum Surprise.
evr . . .
Welcome to the Morning Glory Forum.
Believe it or not, you can grow Morning Glories just like this in Canada. Since your growing season is not as long the trick is to start your seeds germinating and get them growing so they are ready to go in the ground or pots after your last frost.
Here is a Tie-Dye Bloom. In Japan Tie-Dye means Shibori.
Emma
PS:
I LOVE CANADA!
Almost immigrated to the GTA several years ago.

d-Mail me your address and I will be happy to share some of my MG seeds with you
Helena - That blue bloom (Akatsuki no Tsuyu) at the top of the thread is really beautiful! Did you get the seeds from Onalees?
Has anyone here grown "Sazanami"? If so, did you get a wide white border on the edges of the petals?
Helena -
oh Duh! Never mind on the Akatsuki no Tsuyu -
I thought you were talking about your Blues that you just posted.
Emma
Beautiful Emma! Those ocean blue MG blooms are just stunning! Very, very nice!!! :-)
Thank you Becky -
Still one of my very favorites to grow
Emma
Emma your blooms are beautiful!! And you blue silk looks a little different & better than mine.
Becky, I got my Akatsuki no Tsuyu & Plum Velvet-Not from a seller on ebay from on off-bidding list last year without looking at pictures just picking names. That's when the MG bug first bit me. Impossible to count how many I'm growing, in bunches of one vine to 2 or 3 I have maybe 35 to 40 bunches & in some bunches there are 2 or 3 different varieties blooming.
Wow! So you probably have over a 100 vines growing right now! Impressive! Sounds like the MG bug gotcha good! :-D You certainly have a lot of great cultivars growing and performing a stunning show for you! I'm having a ball looking at all your gorgeous blooms! Must be delightful to go take a walkabout every morning to see what's in bloom! :-) Life is good! :-)
Thank you Helena . . .
Becky, I agree, Helena has put on quite a show for us this yr and we all
appreciate it very much, very entertaining. Helps make up for my lack of
blooms. Helena, love your Jordin Rose or look-a-like and the purple bloom
by the Star of India?. Then I saw the newest pics and I'm crazy about
them too. Love the pink from Emma's gift right under Jordin Rose.
Emma, beautiful Blue Silk. Wish I had started one. Guess I can still do that.
Beautiful!!!! I love all of them.
Helena I especially love the silvery lavendar one that you posted on 8/5
in post #53711691. It is totally awesome! I would like to know the name of that one so I can order some seeds.
Lin
Thank you Jackie -
Yep!
Now you can grow your very own 'Blue Silk'. It should end up being one of your favorites too that you will want to grow every year.
Emma
All so beautiful Helena!! I like this one a lot!!! http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/fp.php?pid=5381173
What ya got in that Mississippi dirt down there!! ☺
Thank you Jackie, Dancey and Ronnie, Becky. Dancey the silvery one is Emma's gray haze. I can send you some seeds as I'm collecting but since they are open pollinated I have no guarantee that they'll come true. I'm finally seeing some seeds forming on Plum Surprise, I have only collected 2 little seeds from the third bloom all the others didn't form & fell off.
I'm growing quite a few of the common mg's that I'm not taking pic's of. The soil that I have here is very poor & sandy. I am well known to buy lots of good soil bags & trying to amend it.
After seeing all of the pictures you all have posted I am secretly making a want wish list to my obsession.
Emma, the mg's I got from you are really special to me. I did germinate the other 3 seeds & they are growing very nicely ready to start climbing. I'll grow them in pot just in case cold weather gets here sooner than expected & seeds.

Helena - I would have to say that Emma shared some very unusual and beautiful seeds/vines/blooms with you! It is soooooooooooo addicting! It's like eating a Pringle ... you can't eat just one! LOL! Gotta have them all! LOL! I really enjoy mine when they are in full bloom! They just brighten my entire day! :-)
Thank you Helena,
That really does please me that you have enjoyed such beautiful blooms from the seeds I sent you. Plus, the fact that you have gotten so many great crosses.
So . . .
Stand Back,
I'll have more coming your way soon
D-Mail me your wish list and I'll be happy to share with you any that I have seeds of.
Very Nice Bloom
