Ronnie - I love your volunteers too! What amazing color combos! And I really like your Lavender Silk! All are so beautiful!

(Ronnie), PA(Zone 6b)

Thanks Becky!

Those are all beautiful Ronnie. Lavendar Silk is impressive. I've never even
heard of that one. Stunning colors on Rebecca. I like the one from A too.

Ronnie, What a stunning flower! Love those colors!

this is a sport of that gets thrown 'once in a while' out of Blue Silk that still needs to be grown out some more to fully stabilize it..

This purpurea is interesting...

hoping for some seeds...

Ron

I got a good shot of Xiong's Chinese MG.

Ronnie, I really like the nice even color of Yamotoji flower, wow! Is it a wide diameter flower?

(Ronnie), PA(Zone 6b)

Ron I really liked the lavender silk. That one is potted so it can come inside before frost to hopefully get some seeds.

Joseph the Yamotoji flower is a large flower but wasn't opening fully for me. One didn't open at all...

Ronnie - I hope you get seeds from Lavender Silk, too! I really like the variegation on the leaves as well. That vine is definitely a keeper! Glad to hear you will be able to bring it in when the weather cools.

My weather here is pretty mild in the winter, but it still gets cold enough to slow the growth of the I. nils. What I wouldn't give for an atrium as part of my house. I actually knew a family that had one built right in the middle of their ranch style home. It was a 10' X 10' area that received sun for several hours a day.

Wow Joseph that's a beautiful bloom!!

Netcong, NJ(Zone 5b)

Joseph - Particularly outstanding photo

Joseph - Looks like your bloom is a true red color! Absolutely lovely!!!

(Judith) Denver, CO(Zone 5b)

Hooray for Joseph's photo! And that MG is stunning.

Thanks, everyone, for your kind words, I appreciate them very much. Xiong's is hard to photograph to get its true color; in the morning light, it seems to be a royal velvet purple red, then in the sun, the red hues just leap out of the flower.

Great photo Joseph!!!

Can I get an ID? It has heart shaped leaves.

Without even having to look at my notes from Ron, that's an ipomoea hederacae. If I'm wrong, somebody correct me!

(Becky) in Sebastian, FL(Zone 10a)

I was thinking that, too, Judith!

(Ronnie), PA(Zone 6b)

That is what I thought, but here in plant files the leaves are ivy shaped. http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/53528/

here too

Mine are a definite heart shape. Would it still be one in the same?

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Incredibly beautiful Joseph.

(Becky) in Sebastian, FL(Zone 10a)

Ronnie - Hmmmm ... sounds like an ID that Master Ron needs to address. I'm a novice guesser. LOL! Just a little grasshopper ...

I'm sure Ron will take a look and let you know what he believes it to be. It seems those heart-shaped leaves are all the rage this year! :-) :-) :-)

(Ronnie), PA(Zone 6b)

Thanks Becky for the help. It seems I found that hederacea can also be heart shaped.

I did a little googling LOL and found this http://extension.missouri.edu/explore/agguides/pests/ipm1007morninggloryentire.htm

I am sure Ron will help with a positive ID. It is growing where my sugar plum eBay purchase was last year, and I though that was what it was going to be. Pretty, but a bit disappointing on my end...
