Happy birthday, my friend. I hope you've had a fabulous day.
Happy Birthday, PIRL!!!
Thanks, Tazzy. Is that El Desperado? I love it.
So Victor and Sharon know of a Dr. Love and the best I could do was get Dr. Shotten for a dentist and Dr. Simon for an internist: Simon says get more exercise, Simon says skip the heavy cream, etc. He doesn't know about the Mudslingers or Mudslides.
Jax - when you least expect it you know it will happen. Men can be impossible though!
Thank you, Donna_11 - you can't be that far away if you're near the coast of RI. Come on over sometime.
Lovely Louise - it was SUCH a pleasure to meet you! It would be great to meet Dexter anytime you can come back...and Jack, too.
Dear Polly - you lead me down the path of temptation all the time and I can't thank you enough for it. My gardens wouldn't be as nice without you. Both Limelights are blooming and I bet you planned it that way! Thank you for the greetings and for that beautiful JI. Happy half birthday!
Songs - such a beautiful flower and photo. It's one I haven't seen until your post - please let me know the name. Thank you for your greetings.
Pirl, it's one of my favorites this year... Iris ensata 'Light at Dawn'.
It's gorgeous!
Good grief! I saw that two years ago at half price at the end of the season and then I didn't have Polly to urge me to buy it. Now I'll take the plunge. It's wonderful.
Please let me know if you see it on sale!
Let me know if you don't find any - I have at least 5 clumps; I'd be happy to divide one into three pieces this fall or next spring...
I'll send you a Dmail right now. Thank you.
Thanks, Allison. It was wonderful to finally meet you last Saturday. Thank you for your greetings and the gorgeous begonia. Don't tell me you got that at HD or Lowe's! It's beautiful.
All your coleus cuttings are doing very well and I'm doing over the Strawberry Jar with some of them. Thank you for your kindness in giving them to me and sharing them with the others.
Songs, I just checked my records and I have Light at Dawn. You have given me something to look forward to next spring. Thank You. It's gorgeous!
Happy Happy b-day!!!! Glad I didn't miss it!
Thanks, Jen. Let's hope you can make the next Garden Party. I'd love to meet you and so would my flowers.
Arlene,
I hope you are having a wonderful day. Happy Birthday!
we had a wonderful time.... and it was a pleasure meeting you... and spending the day in your WEED free garden
:)
can't wait to do it again!
I actually bought that one from burpee 3 years ago... the tuber is now the size of a soft ball
your cuttings are all planted up and looking good so far... amazing when I have new babies that I want to check on them all the time to make sure they are ok.... oh and thank you for the piece of hydrangea.. you saved me some money.. I was going to buy that one anyway... once I looked it up I realized that's the one I had my eye on
Thanks, Dave.
JD! I thought you deserted me in favor of the West Coast Blonde, Michelle! Just what is this "favorite East Coast Blonde" thing? You told me I was the only one! Men!
Thanks for all your humor, your sharing of knowledge, your identification of my unknown plants, your true American patriotism, your loyalty and your friendship. My life wouldn't be as good without you in it. YOU are the best!
Arlene
Oh yeah, how did that go??? Did anyone start a new thread with pics for it?
We cross posted, Allison. When you come back you can take more hydrangea cuttings.
Yes, Jen, Kassia did. It's on the NE forum.
Thanks!
oh thank you thank you.... going to have to stop at some the nurseries we passed going to your house... there was a few that looked nice
Now see how we all notice different things. I saw all the vineyards and wanted to do a little wine tasting :)
Happy birthday, pirl
After reading all these BD wishes, I feel like you are a forever friend already and I haven't even met you.
Friends are just the best things to have.
Jan
the vineyards do look great.... but show me the plants
:)
Allison, they're green leaves with grapes ;)
sigh
Joisey Girls, whaddagonnado?
fuggedabout it !
Good comeback Weeze! I wanted to stop at each and every nursery and grab a couple of glasses of wine too. Oh, and stop at a fruit stand and grab more goodies.
Mike, Arlene gave me a delicious cup of coffee in a mug that you gave her! I liked it so much, I wrote down the maker and ordered the same cup for myself. Yay!
I know a Dr. Love too! He's an old friend of the family and DS's Godfather.
Happy Birthday Arlene! I loved the pictures of Charlie!!!
Harper
HAHA... Venu you just reminded me of a shirt I had when I was a teen... Youtouchadashirt Ibreakauface
Allison - try Trimble's of Corchaug (north side of Main Road in Cutchogue - 7 minutes before our house) for a long, slow, quiet walk in wonderland. There are tons and tons of ideas there to be used. It's absolutely my favorite nursery for looking and dreaming.
Louise - so many vineyards and so little time. We have more growing days than the Hamptons/South Side and the vineyards are proof of it. Cutchogue is the sunniest place in all of New York and it's due to that fact that there are so many vineyards there but they've expanded west to Riverhead and east to Orient Point. Just looking at the soldier straight rows is a delight.
Jan23 - I'm always happy to make new friends.
Allison - I had that wording put on a sweatshirt as my wedding gift to Jack only it was YoutouchmyhusbandIbreakauface!
Wow! Harper, you don't waste time! I'm enjoying all the Dr. Love's on this thread!
JD - I will never fuggedaboutu.
Hopefully all these Dr. Love's aren't strange. tee-hee
NY is blessed with good wine growing areas. LI and the Finger Lakes are two great regions.
Funny, Jan!
Hey, that iris is fabulous... where did you get it??? oh gorgeous...
My cardiologist name is Dr Love... he is such a sweet guy! and so is his dad... also a cardiologist!
Mike, I miss you! darn it... could not make to CA (yet) this year... something is wrong with me!
Oh, Eleanor. I can almost sniff the scent from here. That's a beauty! Thanks for the good wishes and I do hope you had a great time with the family. Thank you for the compliments on the gardens.
kassia - I'm not sure if the iris you questioned is the one I posted or another??? Just in case you were referring to mine, it is 'Light at Dawn' and I got it at a local nursery in NH. I have seen it a few places, so it shouldn't be too hard to find.
