Morning Glories 2008 #10

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

Glad you told me that, Tony. I would have been pinching them back when they were 2 ft. tall!

Here is good ol' Ipomoea purpurea 'Star of Yelta', a volunteer from last year.

It is in real life the darkest purple blue, but captured by the camera it is a bit lighter in color.

Here is Janett's Chocolate JMG, obtained from another DG MGr a couple years ago. The bud produced only half a flower so that is how I photographed it. LOL

I like this one because of the deep even brown color fading out to some picotee.

Here is an unknown blue-ray wonder, slightly ragged with holes but still showing a cool color pattern.

Here is another one of Akatsuki no Mai, showing the pale non-blizzard form; I like the halo around the tube.

This is another unknown JMG, pure pure white with big flowers, and nicely variegated leaves.

Lastly, another image of the white blue-speckled Dai JMG, this one has less of a pronounced reverse tube.

Outstanding blooms, Joseph!!! What a pleasure to see all your beautiful flowers today! :-)

Ron, I grew this one last year, but do not remember as many rays as this one shows.

Thanks Ron and Becky for the feedback, much appreciated.

Gail - Thanks for your input about the insecticide that you use. I am so leary about many of the products because I don't want to further damage the environment and harm the wildlife and insects that I am trying to attract to my yard with my plants and blooms. http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/p.php?pid=5345414

Tony - I may do more pinching of my MGs in future grow-outs to see if I like how they branch out. Thanks for suggesting it! :-)

Joseph - That multi-rayed purple bloom reminds me a little of Plum Shadows that I grew last year:

an I. purpurea? Is it red color blooms? Really pretty!!

Whitsett, NC(Zone 8a)

I agree w/Becky - very pretty, Ronnie!!

(Ronnie), PA(Zone 6b)

Thanks Nichole.

Yes Becky it is a purpurea. I have no idea where it ever came from. I know it's a cross of course but with what I don't know! It really is more on the red side although not a true red.

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Holy Cow Ronnie, those are drop dead gorgeous. Very much worth
the wait. Love George Strait, Youjiro and President Bush.
Royal Burgundy and the red bloom right below are stunning.
