Betty,

The Pee Gee Hydrangea Is very pretty. It blooms later in the summer and has oblong flower clusters. When the weather starts 'turning", they start turning a pretty mauve near the tips. The blooms las a long time.

Some people train the Pee Gee into a tree shape. When they get more mature and are in a tree shape, they are spectacular!

I think some sun is nice for them, but you do not need full afternoon sun.

Bev--dahhhling....you STILL are not giving us names of your flowers in your photos......:o(

:Liz,

Betty's "divine blue flower" is a Balloon Flower. They come in white too. They are called that because before the bloom opens, the bud is in a puffy, round "balloon". In Betty's picture, see that small, white, round thing on the lower right? That is a bud. When it opens--it just turns into a bell shape. Makes a lot of seed too--if you don't remove the spent blooms.

The fancy- schmancy name for it is "Platycodon". I have both. Not very well established yet.

Always happy to help-----IF I can...

Betty--I did not find the Pee Gee in PF. Odd! it is NOT all that unusual a plant.

Try looking in pf's under Hydrangea paniculata. That's the species for a Pee Gee Hydrangea. I have 'Chantilly Lace' and 'Tardiva' except one died and I don't know which is which. Both are/were Pee Gee's.

Richmond, VA(Zone 7a)

Congratulations Dawn! I wish you all the best with your new job and i hope it turns into something full time and permanant for you!!

Betty, how are you feeling? Please take care of yourself!

Been lurking the past few days, looking at all the beautiful flowers! Things are kinda of slow right now. We've thankfully had rain the past couple of days so I haven't had to spend hours watering! I am getting GOBS of veggies from my garden: cucumbers, yellow squash, eggplants and tomatoes! I've been bringing them into work for my guys and they are eating them up! The main bulk of my tomatoes has yet to ripen so I know I will be loaded with TONS in the next couple of weeks! Wish you guys lived around here so I could share! I also have a wide variety of gourds growing. I don't remember the names of all of them but once I get a good selection, I'll post some pics. A lot of them look like the gourds that are in fall displays. I had NO idea they actually grew with different colors! I guess I thought some little elf was spray painting them before they hit the stores!! I know....duh!

I have 2 more classes (this week and next) then I will be done with the plant portion of my classes. I don't think I am going to go any further - I just don't think I'm interested enough in landscaping to continue on with the graphics part. Instead, I am considering becoming a consultant for Tastefully Simple. Have any of you been to one of their parties? I love their food and think it would be fun to eat and have parties and earn a little extra money! We'll see....

Well, the puppies are 5 weeks old (yesterday) and should be getting their first set of shots soon. Then they can go outside and play in the grass! I think I told y'all that we will be getting our girl Labor Day weekend so a little less then 5 weeks left......

Back to work. I'll chat w/ y'all later!

Guess it's time to move us over..some have difficulties loading...

So here we go, into a lovely new sitting room, just waiting for flowers to decorate the side tables...

Am sure it won't take long.....
