flowerjen....what is the orange wildflower? I love the color. I need some more orange things. Well, actually I don't need anything else and probably shouldn't get anymore till all the projects are done. But, reality is ... That's Not going to happen!

So, where is everyone getting their Ech. "tiki Torch" from? I just love it and all of the pictures of it are wonderful!

wonderful butterfly's Ngam!!

Longboat Key, FL(Zone 9b)

what a nice welcome Victor, thank you. My Clivia. Actually there are 4 in one pot and have been blooming since Feb. Seed Pod on one. All of these have been created from my own seed 6+ years ago. 3 years for seed pod to mature 3-5 years for plants to bloom.

southern willamette , OR(Zone 7a)

Lol, great one Victor! and the crazy part is that slow computer (that doesn't show pictures when attaching files-I can't actually see what I'm posting) combined with how much i've been gone...... I would never know! Are we one 30 now?! :-p

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

We're on fall colors...

southern willamette , OR(Zone 7a)

Longboat Key, FL(Zone 9b)

Thank you all for such a warm welcome.
This thread beats the knitting forums.
Bees are beautiful too. We love Honey.

This is a DL stray from Home Depot many years ago. First year that I see it bloom. Only one bloom left. Bamby and Bunny think I run a soup kitchen here and help themselves before....

Don't mention the deer, Helene!

southern willamette , OR(Zone 7a)

hmmm... the painted fern is turning a little pinkish, but fall? lol.

close up of the frond. I'm not good enough with the photo editors to remove my hair that I didn't know was in the picture. But, it was the best picture of the fern.

I agree with you on the deer. They got to all of my anemone buds last week! the little buggers.

Longboat Key, FL(Zone 9b)

No, don't plant the fern together, each potted plant needs room to spread. 6- 8" apart.

i don't do well with cone flowers, can you believe?? But this would be a new spot and purple/pink would be just fine, House is grayish/beige with sage green shutters.

Good night all. DH wants dinner. First peppers from his garden, stuffed.

southern willamette , OR(Zone 7a)

You're right Helen... think I need to go and get soe Honey now!

spirea actually, don't remember which on it is... I think limemound.

Very true Helen, I wish that I had a taken a picture of one that I have that's almost ten years old. It's huge! But, one of the critters chomped on it a couple of weeks ago. It's about 2 inches tall now. :-(

southern willamette , OR(Zone 7a)

now maybe this one will be a picture of ebony pearl still in the process of changing colors.

Beautiful, Shelly. What is that??

Port Washington, NY(Zone 7a)

Victor, the bloom is about 9 inches across on the Hibiscus.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Well that sounds about right for KK.

South Coast, RI(Zone 6b)

Gorgeous blooms and great bugs, nice shot as usual. I love looking at this thread and dreaming of a different flowers.
Welcome Helen, I love the blue bug and your Clivia is beautiful.

southern willamette , OR(Zone 7a)

Thanks Victor. It's Rhody "Ebony Pearl" The new growth (bright copper red in spring) will turn he color of the older, reddish green leaves, by the end of summer.... or by the time that I finally catch up to the fall colors thread. They are a strange dark reddish green in winter.... colder it is the darker the leaves become. http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/170882/

Buffalo, NY(Zone 6a)

Dang ... I am in 6A

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Thanks Shelly - it's gorgeous.

southern willamette , OR(Zone 7a)

Well, it might make it there for a while anyhow. The zone 6b was a guess by the hybridizer based on the parent plant, which is generally a pretty good guess. It hasn't been out all that long to have been thoroughly tried and tested.

Buffalo, NY(Zone 6a)

Worth a try .... I have a nice protected corner on the east side of the greenhouse that probably stays a bit warmer in the winter from the heat of the house. That and a bit of mulch might go a long way.

southern willamette , OR(Zone 7a)

There you go... very true! And then we'll have a better idea of how hardy it really is!
