Hot and humid weather (though right now the humidity is down) on tap for the next few days. Yuck!
Today's Weather in Your Garden - 26
Just came in from watering the pots and filling birdbath for the second time today. Slight breeze and 92 degrees. Humidity starting to get to the uncomfortable level. Tomorrow a little worse all the way around. Heat index for tomorrow 101. Maybe a t-storm too. I wouldn't mind a bit of rain, not the wind and lightening part though. A good soaking would be very nice however.
Yes it would. Also, there is a low pressure system just off the coast of GA & SC, which is a potential big rain maker. Hope it makes its way up here.
Oh I hope so, too! My grass looks like straw. I am so sick of lugging that hose around the yard to save my flowers only so the JB's can eat them! A good soaking rain would be nice.
84°
55% humidity
Wow, you must have a nice coastal breeze, Nance. It's 93 here, but dry.
I love the breeze here. Not too strong, but enough to blow out the muggies.
Temp 93.7, Rh 40%
Sunny, hazy & hot, been an unusually busy day for me today. ☺
TOO HOT!!!! 96
Wish I could send you my breeze Jen (or my refrigerator)
Pool was refreshing! Very hot - still about 90.
Severe T-Storms went thru N.H. and Southern Maine today along with Tornado warnings. Had a micro burst in the town of Gorham and it about destroyed it. 90% of the roads in that towm were impassable. Not even the fire trucks and rescue could get to where they were need because of the downed tree's and live lines in the roadways!

Wow - that's scary.
Hate tornadoes, they explode houses, don't know which is worse
tornadoes or hurricanes... worse even - hurricanes make tornadoes!
Temp 78.4°, Rh 58%, Baro 29.79↓. ☺
Finally cooling down, tomorrow I've got some serious watering to do!
Watercan2, I miss read your post and thought you hated "tomatoes" because they caused houses to explode. I was confused.
We have been watching massive heat lightning over toward the mainland, Hyannis. Cool horizontal red flashes. 71 now and very humid, but no rain. Patti
Well it was comfirmed not to have been a tornado but to have had hurricane force winds of 85 MPH. Lightning struck and killed 2 people and over 21,000 without power at one point.
Golf ball sized hail reported in on the Maine/New Hampshire border. I'm betting thats why we haven't heard from Sherrie & Candyce this evening.

We had a t-storm come through last night too. Strong winds lots of lightening and a really good downpour. Thankfully not any damage that I can see. I like the water but not the storm. At least I won't have to drag hose today. Chance of storms the next few days. Already in the mid 70s and very hazy and humid. Could be the hottest day of the year so far, mid 90s.
Totally unrelated, late yesterday afternoon we saw the second turkey hen that has been absent lately. She was followed by two little baby turkeys. Very cute. So now all four are back together plus the two new additions.
Might rain here or there in spots, need a good soaker.

Just came in from the morning search and destroy of beetles. Found and dispatched 6 or 7. Lots of twigs got knocked down as well as a heavy stem of 'Hope' echinacea but that looks like all that was damaged. Hope all of you up north are okay.
Same her WNY 70's and humidity to match.Isolated thunder showers predicted.
LoL Patti!! - My lousy spell check spells worse than me! lol!
Temp 87.6°, Wind SW 39, Rh 45%, Baro 29.82. ☺
Partly cloudy, hazy skies.
83 and gross outside. Very hazy. Hope we get some rain. Sorry to hear about the extreme weather up north,
Geez, Celeste, glad to hear you're OK. Hope our other northerners made out all right.
Hot and sticky here today.
Wow - is it sheltered at all from the wind?
That EE is obscene. What a plant.
getting nasty out now... I had enough of the heat for today... hopefully tonight won't be as gross as last night
Have not been outside yet, but just opened the windows to water my 2nd floor window boxes and was blasted by the hot air! And this is the front where there is no direct sun yet. Ugh! About 90 and 50% humidity, though it feels more humid than that.
Mostly Cloudy:83°
Barometer:29.83 in and steady
Humidity:65%

Dewpoint:68°
Wind:NW 5 mph

OK - all is fine in my neighborhood, but last night? Wow! What a show! It's been a long time since I've heard lightning crack that close!!! By the looks of the gardens this AM, the winds were pretty fierce. Either that, or we got some hail along with the rain. I dunno. It was too dark to tell and too noisy to tell the difference between hailstones and raindrops.
More is forecast for this afternoon/evening as the humidity begins its climb.
Currently ...
Partly Cloudy
87°
Wind: W at 9 MPH
Humidity: 47%
Dewpoint: 65°
Pressure: 29.90 in. and steady
If you have an extra pup, I'll come up and get it - with a case of ice cold beer!!!
Hotter than bloody blue blazes out there! I went out to water and there was more moisture coming off me than the hose! The only good thing about that is coming in and sitting under the ceiling fan!
Yee gods, went out for a little stroll in the garden, can't stand being cooped up, and oh my, you need a blade to cut through the air. Found some of those little ant-like things have been chewing the roots of agastache Blue Fortune. Hit them with some soapy water on the root ball. That usually takes them out, may have to hit it once more in a week or so in case some were missed. Checked a couple other things that I thought had had stems knocked down by the storm and found one of the Coconut Lime and one phlox Nicky with the same problem. Gave them a bubble bath too. I don't know what they are, ants or what but if they are left, they will kill a plant by eating the roots and the stems just turn yellow or just fall over and can be pulled up with no effort at all. The haze and low clouds have been blocking the sun, good thing cause it is 89 degrees without the sun beating down steady, not much breeze and high humidity.
94 in the shade...
Just checked the radar. Only storms in the area are in the extreme NW of NJ.
What is that, Sequee?
What happened to it?
It's the strangest looking thing (outside of Toad Lilies) that I've ever seen. Sorry, toad lily fans.
The Weather Channel just issued a severe weather watch for us until 10 PM. If I recall, yesterday's severe weather watch expired at 9 PM, and the storm hit us hard at about 1:15 AM. Timing, as they say, is everything.
