cat maybe try signing out and back in.

(Cathy), MO

Got it!!!! Can you see the tiny okra looking pods?

(Louise) Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

woohoo I see that!

(Cathy), MO

I can see it from here. Can you guys see anything?

NE, KS(Zone 5b)

I can see Lavender's pic and all mine.. this IS frustrating, indeed. Dave? Dave? DAVID! I'm sure they are trying to fix it... wonder if it's happening on other threads? (I don't get out much cause I love this hottie thread... It probably DOES have something to do with the Hottie Thread... lol

(Cathy), MO

Ok let me try the other one

Lavender that last one is the one you asked how big it was last night. Not quite 2 ft tall. And in a 1 gal pot! I guess I'll just leave it alone and make sure it doesn't dry out

NE, KS(Zone 5b)

SEE it! Cat, which brug is it? (sorry if you stated above)

(Louise) Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

wow that one bud is big and is that plant even Y'd? I see your other buds and they do look like they are shrivelling in the first pic. It might push out more.

(Cathy), MO

The "bud shriveling" picture is Daydreams. The one on the table is Orange Sunshine

I wouldnt worry too much. Young plants sometimes have to adjust to their hormone signals and conditions to get it right. It isn't only brugs that abort buds. Try fuschias sometime lol.

(Cathy), MO

Think I should pinch them off or just leave them alone?

(Louise) Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

nope leave em the plant looks great.

NE, KS(Zone 5b)

Day Dreams is a double, the plant probably just needs to mature some more.. I'd leave em.

(Cathy), MO

I'm going to have to pay more attention! I have a 3 day weekend coming up. I'm planning on going over them all with a magnifying glass and potting up or planting any that don't have buds.

(Cathy), MO

I will leave them, thanks you guys

NE, KS(Zone 5b)

It does look very healthy. It's doing great.. just a little premature with the budding.. that's encouraging... she'll be a producer!

(Cathy), MO

Hope so! What I'm really hoping is that I can share cuttings with a bunch of newbies this fall like several DG'ers did for me last fall.

NE, KS(Zone 5b)

You'll be able to share, don't have to bloom to take cuttings. Just keep feeding and fussing ;) the plant looks great.

(Louise) Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

oh I plan on bringin my babies for others do work with. I am gonna bring some orchid cactus new rooted plants from a plant I got in 1989 and have never seen bloom (due to total neglect).

(Cathy), MO

I kind of went nutty last fall! I was trading and buying and collecting and at one point had 30 different cuttings!!!! Some of them didn't make it, but I don't want to try to overwinter that many again this year! I don't have the room for them here.

NE, KS(Zone 5b)

Louise, you aren't neglecting it now, are you? I sure want you to see it bloom. I'm starting to wonder about how all my new additions are going to fit in the basement.... I can have another yard sale (for the storage stuff, NOT my brugs!) lol

(Audrey) Dyersburg, TN(Zone 7a)

Cat, I have brugs as tall as yours, but no buds yet! Maybe I've looked them off?

Nassau County, NY(Zone 7a)

Guys, I see the new thread, cannot read everything, however, I can say Amada and Louise you are hotties alright! Love everyone, Clemen

NE, KS(Zone 5b)

ROFLOL, Audrey... funny! Clemen! I think your pink/white Beauty is Isabella! How's she looking today? And your variegated?

(Louise) Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

Bonnie, I am NOT neglecting it now. I neglected it by proxy lol. I gave it to my sis when we lived in an apartment with no windows and she had it for five years. She gave it back now that we live in a house with lots of light and a sunporch and said she was extremely sorry and was giving it back in shame lol. I cut it all apart and repotted the cuttings and they look great so far. Lots of new growth.

(Louise) Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

I have sent cuttings all over the country to see how everyone else does with it too.

NE, KS(Zone 5b)

Some brugs bloom sooner (or shorter), depending on which brug or if it was a cutting taken above the 'Y'. My little Antique Lace was probably cut above the "y", it had leaf tips on it when it arrived, not just a blunt ended on both ends, cutting. Charles Grimaldi is a smaller growing brug, I can't think of the names of others, right now. I'm reading some bruggers think they have to be root bound to bloom. I don't think I necessarily agree... Antique Lace was just put in the pot to root not that long ago. She can't be root bound already.. (I don't want to look, cause she's got buds) Pink Beauty gets 10-12 ft tall before I even think about looking for buds on her.

Nassau County, NY(Zone 7a)

Aunt b, Pink beauty has both pink and white blooms, variagated, ahhhhhhhhhhh, smelling nice! Clemen

Will post more tomorrow, i had such a wonderful day today, met a freind from DG and spent 8 hours together at this park, OMG, what a nice time and a lolvely maly i met. I love DG and all of my friends, happy girl here! Clemen

NE, KS(Zone 5b)

Aw, Louise, you didn't neglect it, your sis did! (may have done better in your windowless apt) lol That is so nice you just stepped up with the scalpal and saved the family heirloom. I bet it's happy now! I traded some seeds to a man in Poland! He sent me a bunch of seed and some little tiny starts of yellow water iris. That was about 5 years ago, I still have the iris and we still email from time to time. I love to share stuff, cause if I have too much or don't want something, there's always someone that does. Ladies, this hottie is having a power surge... and it's time for me to go nite nite.. Sweet dreams!

NE, KS(Zone 5b)

Clemen, I KNEW you would have a great experience! YAY!!! We all love you too, Sweetie!

Going out to check on the brugs and daturas, I hope I see blooms!

(Cathy), MO

Good morning everyone.

I was wondering the same thing Clemen. Wondering if we had a budding DG romance going on! :-)

(Audrey) Dyersburg, TN(Zone 7a)

Girls, I spent time trying to irradicate snails last night about midnight! They're taking over! Almost denuded two of my brugs. I started to go to Wa;*Mart right then to get snail bait, but didn't! I need to do that today!

(Cathy), MO

Grasshoppers are trying to get mine. I started spraying the other day. They can just go find something else to chew on!!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Good morning Hotties. Hope your all doing fine. Except for the snail picking part, and grasshoppers. I have some tiny holes in a fes of my brugs also, but will just keep spraying them. No missing leaves though.
Clem are you going to tell us your friends name? You got to bring her here so we can really get her hooked...
Have a good day.
Linda Kay
