Okay, George. You have peaches and tomatoes, my 2 favorite canned items. I make my own Chili sauce but I haven't done it in a couple of years. Bad feet so I can't stand for long enough. Hips are starting to go, along with the back and the hearing. LOL

I've been awake at night lately again but haven't posted much. Too tired but can't sleep. I turn on the telly and just veg.

The next to last row on left is chili sauce in the quart jars. Let me tell you that will be the last i ever make also. The roasting and peeling of those chili peppers took forever! Not like slipping the skin off a tomato at all. It taste great, but never again.
Thanks zhinu! I really started taking and posting a lot of pics when I got involved in the carol's journey thread in the parking lot forum. carol was terminal with a brain tumor and was saying good bye. I found it when it first started and am still on it, but it's eads journey now. I made wonderful friends on that thread and we still visit with each other often. Carol and I shared a lot and spiritually was one we saw really close to. I really miss her. It's funny how someone I never met became such a dear friend over the net.
DG is a unique place in the people you get to meet and become friends with. I always thought these internet sites were silly before DG.

daylilydaddy - I'm sorry for your loss, but glad you found us.

I forgot to add max is really not ours. he's a neighbors, but lives with us full time. he was always skinny and very shy(we think they beat him) So he is our adopted dog. Kinda like the neighbor kid who always was at your house! LOL

Daddy, gotta tell you that rescue animals always turn out the best for us. All our animals have been rescues from other people or ASPCA. The animal always knows who loves it. You babies a cute as...I'm sorry...terrifying as can be!

I think they do(well did) beat him. He is very head shy. Not to sound like a snob, but up until a year or 2 ago I only had pure breed/registered dogs. We rescued that little guy Copper from along side of the road and another beagle girl also. Thats were the puppies came from. She brought a few extras with her we didn't know about until she was showing she was pregnant. I will always choose mixed breeds now. I just love them. They seem so much smarter and sweet. Suzy(beagle mix girl) had 9 pups! We gave them all away except 3. I just couldn't part with them. So the family grew a little. Went from 20 lbs of dog food to 50 lbs a month now.

I love mutts and moggies. I have a pure breed, but it was an accident. Koshka is a lynx point Siamese, but on the other hand, that is a recentish breed created by breeding a Siamese with a tabby. She was a rescue in that the people giving her away for scary. Nero we don't know what is other then short hair and black. He and his mother were an anonymous drop off and the shelter.

My mom has a laboid, lab and something. Someone tossed him and his siblings up in the forest. Some friends of ours found them on a bike ride and brought them down. Her cat was found on the side of the freeway, all but one of her siblings died, her mother and all but two were dead when we found them.

If there is a hell, I hope there is a special place for people who toss their pets out to fend for themselves or otherwise torture their pets.

There is. It's called the DMV. ☺

lol... but we all get stuck in that one, I said one especially for animal abusers. I always figured if I went to hell I'd get stuck in a phone booth listening to bad violin music.

Hey all!
I really did take my meds early and drank no coffee after 8pm, but here I am stewing apples to can some apple butter. I am trying my best to get to sleep earlier then the last few nights. I have a clients yard I need to work in tomorrow and need to be there at 7am! The apples are pretty much done. I will turn them into "butter" tomorrow. Now just some more maters and salsa and my kitchen will be back to order again. I will do apple pie filling and some cider, but I do that at my farm friends house since they have the apples and cider press. We do the old fashion canning way since we have so much to do. Build a fire with cinder blocks around it to support a wash tub. Fill tub with water and do a ton at a time. It's actually really fun. They have a huge front porch and we process apples and gossip all day. I usually make a pot of chicken and dumplings. Feels just like when I was a kid growing up in OKLA.

I just finished a movie called "Grey gardens". Has anyone else seen it? I have watched it way too many times, but I just love it. It's about the Beales of east hamptons. The mother is Jackie Kennedy's aunt. It's a mother and daughter living in a 26 room mansion that is totally a wreak. They have no money and both are crazy as h%&*. I think the daughter(little Edie) is borderline personality disorder and the mother(big Edie), well I'm just not sure. At first I really felt sorry for them and then after watching it again realized they are having the best time doing exactly what they want to do. When they were both young they were gorgeous and lived the High life. Now they just live and have a good time doing it. I just watched part 2 a couple of nights ago and they are making a movie now about it. Drew barrymore and jessica lang. I can't wait to see what those two do with those characters.

Who's still up? I'm here for a few...

I'm still up, should have been here, but my brother called and I ended up talking to him for 2 hours 15 min. we ended the conversation because my phone was dying. I don't remember the last time we had that long of a conversation, and he's one of my best friends. Is it sad that of my three best friends I'm related to two and married to the other; or is that a good thing? To add weird to the equation my next two are the girl my high school boyfriend left me for, after dating for five years, and my high school boyfriend. The next would be my DH's best man at our wedding.

LOL Not weird. At least I don't think so. My best friends are 3 of my brothers, my hubby, one of my old bosses and another is an ex-coworker.

Sorry this turned into a rant…

I only have the one sibling... My best friends are my mom, who is on DG and I've been trying to get to join us, my brother and my DH. The best man at my wedding could become my best friend under those three, but he's been having a rough time, bio-chemical issues and a divorce, bad combo, so he hasn't been very social. I baby sit my “nephew”, the son of my high school boyfriend, so I interact with them a lot, therefore they’re currently above him. I’d like more friends, but I wouldn’t give up the ones I have for the world.

I was really depressed last week when I finally decided I had to end two friendships of ten years. Of those I’m not related to, the longest contentious relationships I’ve ever had, we had a couple year break between me and my high school boyfriend who I’ve known for over half my life now. I moved around a lot as a kid, about once every two years on average; 10 schools by 9th grade. But, the relationship had become septic, they were physic vampires and I finally decided that they didn’t deserve my loyalty. The issues may have been there at the beginning, but it has gotten progressively worse over the years.

The last straw was Friday the 15th. I went to the best man’s house, he and DH were having an important conversation in the front yard, I asked one of them not to bother them, he went anyways; I was p!$$@& off and went to cool down. There are trees at the edge of his yard, then a hill, I thought the flat part went out longer, but the drop starts about where the trunks are. I slid about 10 ft. through black berries and sprained my ankle (it still hurts, and I have pink lines from the black berries) and sat there crying for about 5-10 min., it took me awhile to get out, 20 ft. away on the porch they were sitting there when I did get out. It just made me realize that no matter how hard I tried to be their friend, they weren’t trying to be mine.

Which really sucks, because they all but kept me alive through my break-up, I was single for 6 years between 20 and DH. They had been good friends at points, but they hadn’t been for years. This was one of the things me and my brother talked about tonight which is why it’s on my mind.

kwanjin - I forgot to answer you. I'm painting my jar swap jar. I'm almost finished with it; I got the top done today, now all I need to do is finish the bottom. Got my 3Bs house finished Friday and sent out, I have my bird feeder ready, assuming my buddies is opposed to my idea, and I have 3 possibilities for my cute critters swap depending on who I get. I’m actually pretty on top of my swaps and happy with what I have. I’ll post pics when my buddies get them.

zhinu, I'll pose the same question to you as I posted to kwanjin: my e-mail box is being flooded with unsolicited porn sites. I've called my isp and dell and tried to follow their directions but must have failed. I did block the sender's domain name but it is still getting through. They are using different names before the domain names. I don't mind porn but I don't want it to flood my inbox. Any suggestions? lee

Do you have Parental Settings for the e-mails. I have a JUNK setting where only people on the Safe List can get through. Otherwise, it goes in the JUNK folder. I don't know ATT. Do they have one of those?

Zhinu, I don't blame you for being angry at your "friends". I have a small circle I associate with and then the smaller one that I listed above, of very close friends. I know about breaking off friendships. I had to do that several years ago with a girl who kept coming on to my boyfriend, who later became my hubby.

zhinu, yes i see kwanzin's post above yours. Just posted him on another forum. can't keep up with what forum people are in. I don't know what AT&T has. I phoned them y'day and they tried talking me through how to block specific e-mails. I must be a total fool, else I would have done correctly. Need to get a gangly teenager over here, they know so much. As I told kwanjin on the other forum, am having bad day. Pain in knees bad, ran out of pain meds about 3am. Owen's off to pick up Rx. If i'd let myself, i'd just go to bed and that's not like me. If I give in then I'm afraid I'll give up. Continuing to feel mean as a snake. Just need to go out and pick some gardenias, put them in a bowl, get in the recliner, and smell the fragrance. Take care. Lee

all trojans are viruses, not all viruses are trojans. It's a specific type of virus, one that lets people access your computer remotely.

I suppose that it's like all bears are mammals but not all mammals are bears. Just what I need! Mcafee ran systems check, said all was ok. Don't know whom to trust. Leeflea

I'd look up the trojan name, not all viruses are hostile, that could be what's going on.

just off the phone with mcafee. they did scans and detected none. I guessed the system just burped. It is the purging time for the computer. Leeflea
