Or plant some big shrubs! You have been known to do that too. Patti

Rock Wall Construction
Stealth. I like that word.
well i was stealth today - was able to "obtain" some real nice big rocks for the wall - hope to "grab" more tomorrow - hope the wheel barrel does not break - i'll start a new thread when the reconstruction begins - i already have two small walls on hold and the yearly repair on others - need help moving mulch and weeding
Congratulations! Remember to add "take photos and report progress to DG friends" on your chores list.
i have found that keeping everyone up to date is cutting into the progress i need to make - really - i will do my best:)
Aw, Bill!! I wasn't really serious. It's kinda funny how DG can take so much time away from our 'real' lives. Why else do you think I'm hardly around? No pressure!!
any good rocks?
Wha, We have tons of great rocks up here in Vt. Some of our walls need work. Do you ski? We could trade you a house to use in the winter or almost anytime with rock picking privileges for some help rebuilding the bad spots in our walls. We would do the grunt work and you could do the artistic part of proper placement! The house is in the lovely village of Williamsville and is about 35 min. from Mt Snow or Stratton. Not a joke........Patti
Way to go DD! I'll bet once she gets going she will find 30 more and on and on and on. Patti
Naaaaah She has about had it with the contractors black plastic edging.
She hacked off the forsythias nicely. SIL and Chainsaw.I'm pleased with that.
ge - what's with the "take that wha!"
30 rocks?? i moved more than 30 tons:)
looks good!
patti we will talk about the wall help - i use to ski a lot, until i married the bride - it is flat green trails for her while doing the snow plow - meanwhile i dying to get to the bump runs - we went once once 10 years ago - then i picked up cross country/back country skiing
have rock will travel:)
Just jirkin your chain.
Being sarcastic ,
DD hauled the wall forward ,not me.
Compared to your efforts we are small potatoes.
You need to hire Bill.
I need to spend less time online and more in the garden. Patti
LOL. Too cold today! Brrrrrrrr.
Stealth, huh? I don't know, Bill - that stone that is 9th back on the left looks pretty familiar to me!
Beautiful job! What will you do on weekends now?
fear not this is my next wall project - i enlarged this bed and needed to make the wall bigger and slightly higher as i explained to bbrook on her visit - the previous wall was about 12" shorter which was fine for the 22 oz. beer i brew - however if you were drinking a 12 oz beer you needed to bend over to reach it. dangerous in the middle of a horse game. so i am fixing that problem.
LOL Louise.
Bill, do you ever sit down? Oh, I forgot, yes, you do back by the fire pit with a brew. It looks great.
did you mean right??
thx jan - actually i don't really sit down for too long - need to be aware of moss:)
No - on the left side in the shot just before your last photo. Left! Count 9 back. LOL
got it - could be, after a while one rock looks like the next:)
Looks great Bill, but I would expect stone steps to replace the RR ties. Slowing down a bit? ^_^
you are right on about the steps they came with the house - would like to replace them with granite as some point - have not even priced that our yet - it will happen and some wall re-construction will be in order. there are about 17 steps so i think $$ will be needed.
Hee hee!
Bill, I'll bet you could tuck a mini frig into a vaulted cave and run the electric underground to the house and then maybe you would sit still a bit longer. You could work on keystone construction, before you tackle a pyramid. As they say in Nantucket, "Finest Kind". Patti
Now, THAT'S a plan!!
actually - you never asked what all those quartz rocks i have by the hammock - they are for a mini quartz pyramid
You need a few pints to work on the quartz.
Bill, your newest wall is beautiful. I love the way it curves to go up the stairs. Very classy.
thx all
funny sherrie
