This is supposed to be DL 'Circle Upon Circle'--again, looks nothing like a mature flower from 'CuC'...I'm gonna be typing on the DL forum again...lol. This one definitely stands out in the garden. The throat is a very lime green color!
Garden PhotosPart 21
Thom, nice to collect. I think you seem to have a few of all the good things. I get on a bandwagon pretty easily too. I blame that on Victor. But I can't seem to grow echi's. I am still trying.
Here is a new DL for me. I think it is 'Early Days' from Hansen coop in 2006. I have to see if there is a tag. Pretty nice whatever it is. But I will have to check out you Westbourne's Wild as a Buck' as I love the sultry dark ones in any plant. Patti
bbrookrd: I only have a small but strong aquarium pump at the moment to keep the water moving (look at the lower left of the photo). But, aside from that there is nothing in the pond but "feeder goldfish" to keep the skeeters down. Not even any plants just yet.
Haven't even thought about how strong a pump head I will need just yet. Just to the point now where I think I have it to the size and shape I want to end up with. I am guessing it will top about 5,000 gallons when fully realized.
Here is a tighter shot of the pond portion, so far.
Do we get to see your new fence once complete? I need to get some fencing replaced, too. Power Company murdered one of my 100 year old Specimen Oak Trees after a freak October (Friday the 13th) 2006 snow storm dumped over 2 feet of snow on the area in a few hours. Nearly EVERY tree in WNY was severely damaged as they all still had leaves on their branches. I'll post a picture of that for a visual. Normally, we don't get snow until closer to Thanksgiving. We went 8 days without power. Glad for the greenhouse to warm things up all sunny day. Only lost one greenhouse plant to cold.
Here's a storm shot showing snow on the mailbox out front. I think this was the saddest time I have suffered to date. WNY has thousands of REALLY old trees. None of which escaped damage of some kind. Then, of course, those B$(%*&%S went around chopping them all down, instead of having tree surgeons come in and try to save any. Truly distressing time to watch them all be felled.
Here is a shot of the top of my largest specimen oak. I almost got into fistacuffs with the toothless (no doubt a drug user) lumberjack to prevent him from chopping this one down too. If I had money, I would have sued. And I ain't the sueing kind!!
Ah ... the beauty of nature and the ability to rebound. The yard, actually, looks better than ever now, and has all this new found sunlight!! (Trying to make lemonade here!!).
You have put the lemons to good use, for sure. And, may i say, fantastic photos!
Thom, 'Wild as a Buck' is lovely!! I love all of MJ's lilies...own a few of them myself.
Now 'Circle Upon Circle' does not look like any photo i've ever seen of it. You may have to contact the seller on that one.
I like Eddie Murray. As we said last year, he was a good ballplayer too. How many DL's are you up to, Celeste?
Not telling! LOL
Maybe somewhere around 300 (said in a whisper)

Not absolutly sure bit I think your Hollyhocks have "rust" There is a powder for it.
I love HH's but don't grow them for that reason. Too much work.
Bill, love Sundown! Your HH has rust.....so do mine, it's a never ending battle. I'm in search of how to rid myself of it .
Your elephant looks like an Amaranthus.
