Hi there Sis!!!!!! Huggggggggssss!
So glad you got Montezuma blooming! Don't you love the fragrance?
This is Casablanca, as beautiful as Kim of Kimarj and I wish you could smell it ^_^
She's about to... # 4
I'll stick with tea Jaye...thank you very much ; } Was a great party tho.....
I love the plumies Kimbob!!
Casablanca smells heavenly!
When I tried to take closeups of her, my camera made them look red. But this is her actual beautiful color.
Thanks for letting me share my love of Asiatics. Kim of Kimarj, time for a new page ;)
In the meantime, I'll indulge in Law and Order!
I am ready for margarita's and pizza!, well at least pizza, too tired to make margarita's.
Darn I played hard today. Back to work tomorrow, seems like I have been off a long time.
Love lilies, and they bloom now when I can't get much else to bloom but daylilies.
I am trying to get a garden in bloom all summer. So I am paying close attention to when things are blooming.
Yeah for discounted flowers!!
I am not buying anymore until I get everything planted! Yeah right!
oh, sorry Kim, I hope you feel better now. Everyone's pics are loverly! Plumie Peeps, how much longer till I get a flower and what do I need to do different? Mine looks so puney compared to Kimbob's....
KIM o d PA, do something, you know what I am talking about, lol Clemen
Clemen, Kim. You sneaky HOTTIE's!! Tell us, do something! LOL
Aunt b, it is all in Kim's hands, and she is under the weather today! Be nice to her! Love you all, Cemen
LOL, with you Clemen and Kim of Pa. I won't snoop promise, unless it comes to plants and flowers. lol.
Bonnie, it depends on the type of plumies. Some grow very virgorous, other stay compact. Yours look quite lovely with the inflo. plus a new branch. Base on your zone, give it the most sun you can give it. And continue what you're doing. In a year time -- watch out!!! That baby is going to be heavy to lug around. :-)
Kimbob
I've another NOID, this one looks very much like 'Singapore' when in blooms....but it was a shared plant with no name...
L@@K at that!!! Kimbob! Lovely! I love the leaves on that one. I do give it the most sun possible and I think it is as big a pig as brugs. Oh, no.., what's ONE more too heavy to lug around plant? Clemen, Kim? Oh, you girls! (pssssssssst- Hotties besides Kim and Clemen- we need to beg, I think)
Aunt b, can't you relax every once in a while you silly nut, hee, hee, I am like you, I just do not express it! Clemen
Oh Kim the exotic sorry you don't feel well. Drink the tea as Jaye suggested and we will hold the Bailey for now.
All the pictures of flowers, we out and searched but not much luck, gave up and went to dinner in Bainbridge, Ga. Not far really and a great Mexican resturant. AuntB, didn't find a Hot Ross but found a Luna Red hibiscus at Walmart of all places. Yeap, it's mine now.
Burg babies just sigh when I talk to them. Oh well in their own sweet time I guess.
Marion, to cure that yearning to see brugs' blossoms. I collected an oddle of brugs cuttings last summer - Fall, now they're making buds/blooms in succession. lol. Mind you, I was about to pull all my hair out last winter taking care of the demanding spoiled "bratts". lol.
Ok, here is something that not many of us thought of doing. But, I enjoy raising a few herbs and veggies in the summer for cooking and ornamental purpose as well. I've planted this domestic gingers (the common gingers that we cook with). And to my suprise, these do flowers, and quite interesting greenish cones that they produce. Here is a thread where I was searching its identity (because I've potted it in a pot that was wrongly marked for something else). Enjoy the post. Will catch up in the morning. Good night, all.

Clem, I don't think the blooms will be variegated...I sure hope they are! A white to turning to peach color maybe? Sometimes the blooms do look marbley (how fitting I use that word to describe it, lol) but they are in transition to their true color... What is that brug? Is that a hint to all this suspense? So are the domestic gingers annuals in zone 7, KimBob? I can buy seeds for the ginger we make cookies with? Cool! I don't recall seeing ginger seed.... I grow a few herbs and veggies, too. Summer isn't summer without a homegrown mater. My herb pots stay out year round, first to green up in spring and last to turn brown in fall.. (I HAD to check in before bed......, I kind of thought the tight lipped trouble twins would have spilled their guts by now. LOL)... Kim (the exotic, as Marion says, I just love it!), switch to Baileys if ya aren't feeling better by now. Marion, that's a pretty one and dinner sounded good! Sleep well all my dear hotties, includes Clem & Kim ;)
Goodness gracious! I spend a day with DH and it takes me an hour to read all of this. But what I think is even funnier, is we have 260 posts, but about 11.000 views. Unless we are all lurking, we have a lot of people watching us...
Good grief, why did I tell that swimsuit story. I never thought 11,000 peeps would hear about it.
Kim, margariti? You will be okay, I promise, it just make take a few days...Treat yourself like you do your plants, hydrate and food. I am really sorry you are feeling bad, but I hope you had fun.!!
Well, I was seeing a little, itty bitty sprig on a Maya. I got up early this morning and was watering... green was gone and I found slugs on all of my newbies. I have never had slugs around here.... I actually brought one in the house and asked DH, "Is this what I think it is? " His answer, "That's a slug but where did you get it?"
So I hit my flowers and he hit his garden. Stomp, stomp.!
So, then we went out for lunch with DH's 82-year-father. He has been such a joy to be my FIL, but today he was different, and his eyes did not look good. So, another big conversation with DH. Nothing settled there.
Then we came home, and we have these little slimy silver streaks all over our concrete.
DH took salt out and bordered everything. He, even took out my cooking sea salt.... "Those slug ain't going to get my tomatoes!" he said. I do not want slugs, but I have to figure out what all that salt is going to do...
All in all, anyother day at our house. I'm sorry if I vented too long. Anybody got an suggestions about slugs? or excess salt?? Oh my goodness.......
Lov ya sisters. have a good evening!! Peg

hey all you sweet hottie nuttie sis's!!
Been a long day for me... going to bed in a few... waaayyy early for me.. but the ol bones are creaking tonight..hehe
Bonnie.. gingers are tubers.. you find in the vegie aisles.. but I read you can use all ginger roots/ tubers to cook with.. just some taste better than others..
LOL Kimbob.. That is exactly what I am doing this spring into summer.. getting as many brugs I can get!! LOL course I ain't stopping there... others I have to explore..
You mean that Clem and Kim.. ain't coughed up that secret they keep flinging in our faces like an ol dirty washrag?? well I will be nice as long as the exotic is feeling puny..hehe sorry you aren't feeling well KIM!!
Nite hottie girlies.. maybe I will feel better myself in the morning!!!
OH HB to your dh Peg!! hope the day has been a grat one for him!!
Nite!! and sweet dreams.. even if it is about BRUGS... how devine...ahhhhhh
Becky
peg, too much salt puts sodium in the soil or something like that and I was told its a bad thing for the soil.
I have lots of slugs (in case anyone wants some ! lol!) and I use sluggo in my beds. its the only thing that I have found to keep them out. of course they have free grazing rights to the lawn :o) they can eat that up to their hearts content :oD
now, when are you all gonna spill the secret?! inquiring brug minds want to know!!
Come on girls, we wanna know the secret. You can't keep it to yourself forever!
Hope you all have a wonderful day. Try to put like a mayo jar lid into the ground and fill it with beer. The slugs go to that, and fall in. End of slugs.
Linda Kay
Ok alright here it goes........ :P
'Morning to all my hotties sis. Hope you're doing well this fine day. I'll post a few pix and head out to the garden while it's still mild and cool out there. Did someone mention slugs and snails? Hummmm, what a terrible sight this is! I did my morning work this morning, and found one of my Apricot Queen's bloom was .. in the ground! Now apricot Queen's blooms lasted a long time, in closer inspection this is what I found inside the blossom!
I'm going to go out and check my flowers for slugs. Such nasty things. I use to take my salt shaker out and sprinkle snails with it, they foam up and it's not pretty. I know salt isn't good for soil, snail bait works wonders.
Pegi
Oh geez Kim the exotic, thanks so much for the hint!! If that is what it was. Please don't send any slugs this way--don't got 'em so far, don't need 'em, don't want 'em!!! If you do just remember for every slug--2 squirrels will return via postman!!
Baby still looking good so their mommy is happy about that.
Mornin'..
I feel like I am having a hangover this morning and I haven't had a drink in ????...lol I am better to work outside all day than go here and go there...Got my new puter... cept they backordered the monitor...@$$!.. now what good is the tower and NO monitor... Ohhhhhh.. patience... you all know how much of that I have!!
OH Kimbob.... now another ^%@$ I have to watch for on the brugs?? I have lots of hostas... and so far not too many lil holes in them.. but since I am saying this.. I will probably go out and not have any hostas left!!..lol I read eggshells around the plant.. beer in a bowl.. salt... which is bad for the soil.. but miracle grow also adds salts to the soil over time.. so what's a girl to do? I say whatever works!!
yeah..yeah.. KIm.. get started and then go tight lipped on us.. hehe... hope you are feeling better this morning!!
Marion, ROFL, ....how about for every two squirrels there will be 4 chipmonds via postman? lol....
Sounds like a plan to me!!! Not sure how I have been so (want say the word as I might get them) but I have. Check every morning. I like the beer idea--visual of drunk slugs floating around, dying but with a smile on their faces!!!
Beck, crushed eggshells work great! Only I can't have too many eggs due to cholesterol level. A girl can't win it all....I think I'm going to try the beer-trap eventually. Hey, I'm with Bonnie for the growing medium (potting soil), miracle growth soil is good for certain thing, but for those that I need a 'tighter control' of fertlizer regimen. Promix is my top choice. Bonnie, where are you girlfriend?
Kimbob
Good morning! Kim must be feeling better since she is sticking her tongue out at us. And Marion is threatening to mail us squirrels? Oh, no, I have enough already, thank you.
No signs of slugs this morning and actually the salt is not as bad as I first thought. It was just weird to have slugs show up since I have not had them here before..
Got to get busy, ladies! Last day of my vacation and then tomorrow I have to go back to work. But I must work to support my DG habit.... tee, hee. I have 2 EE, 1 hosta, 1 B of P and something else coming in the mail any day... and I am going to try some ginger rooting. I seem to remember seeing different kinds of ginger at the local Oriental market. So may try one of each...
Have a good day sisses. Peg
Oh Peg you only get squirrels if slugs show up here!!
Peg, that is a great idea about the oriential market... so ya just plant a tuber? Cool. Joyce, I am trying diamatecious(sp?)earth for ants, I wonder if it works on slugs.... It looks like fibery paper matter you would put into paint for a textured ceiling....(I need to do a closer inspection on everything, you guys slug spooked me..lol) Kimbob, that's one ugly party up in that bloom! I know a lot of salt water from making ice cream isn't good for cement or grass.... I use crushed egg shells when I notice slug trouble and have used slug bait, and the beer in lids or tuna cans too.... Deviled eggs go quick at my house... or buy a dozen, boil em up and throw the eggs away, they are pretty cheap slug and earth friendly slug deterrant. Kim, glad you are feeling better, (I guess sticking out your tongue means your feeling better?)... Clemen-spill yer guts, girl! Good morning everyone, it's a work day :( - got some stuff done so I can play) -B
Morning! I do feel better.BTW that d earth works on slugs and earwigs and I read if you strain it through a coffee filter with water and spray your plants it helps with mites!!! I started a new room : )
http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/873678/ go here Hotties and everyone!

Thanks AuntB!!
Thanks, Marion. I really, really do not need any more squirrels. My neighbors feed them and it is nothing to look down and have a squirrel sitting by your feet. But who sent the slugs to me?? I've gardened 23 years here and this is a first.. and hopefully, a last. Slugs are not welcome here... I just bought more mulch and I am wondering if they came in it..
I cannot believe ya'll went to plumeria... I have already been researching them and trying to make up my mind if I want to try them in zone 7.
Got to get outside... have a good day, Peg
