My First Egg!

Lodi, United States

And they are very, very cuddly. You can pick them up in one hand--heck you can pick up three in one hand, and they just nestle against you.

Gate (Rochester), WA(Zone 7b)

awwww........what angels!
my broody 1yro SSB banty (never found good name for her) has decided it is time to set again. was hiding eggs in nest - left 2 marked eggs & took new one. now setting on marked eggs. move her back to coop every night - she flys out every morn & goes back to her hidden nest. tried moving her & eggs tonight to safer place. no go, left eggs & went back to hidden nest to set - no eggs! She won't lay now that she's decided its time to set....
Other hens pay no attention, they don't want to set, so don't i guess......
good luck on stopping her!?! ^_^

where exactly is lodi? dont I pass that on wy to cabin in twain harte? uh oh! lol!

Lodi, United States

Lodi is a black hole--once you are in--you can never leave and no word of you can reach the outside. I found this worm hole in Dave's Garden--but it could close up on me at any moment. However, for some reason, fertile Nankin eggs can escape and repopulate the universe.

Okay--time to go to bed before Schrodinger's cat starts clawing at the screens.

cool jordan, cna't wait to see them.

josh, catscan and i are working on a top secret model of a bug zapper, designed esp for unwatned fairies... really high priced, but could be worth it for some folks...

Lodi, United States

The danger is that, like the patch, some people would not use it when they should. Maybe we should put it on a tamper-proof timer? Set for like 1 year, 5 years.......

Fritch, TX(Zone 6b)

well, i would need it to go off about every six months... and if i changed my mind, i would just unplug it...

then there are power outages, OUCH, maybe need a photocell?

londonderry, Australia

battery pack maybe for power outages :0)

(AnjL) Fremont, CA(Zone 9b)

I would need ALOT of batteries! lol!

Lodi, United States

Back up gas generator?

Gate (Rochester), WA(Zone 7b)

Got a generator -- too big to haul around; but still interested in your secret cf bugzapper........ How's it coming along? On the other hand, nothing like those cute little guys......and the eggs are nothing to sniff about!

Think I will need new bantums next year -- staying away from standard size, even tho much bigger eggs, need more food & space to make them! Budget needs to remain under control......

Lodi, United States

Quick get the patch off her--she's raving!

Gate (Rochester), WA(Zone 7b)

LOL :D
Raving maniac -- that's me! ^_^

londonderry, Australia

Fritch, TX(Zone 6b)

yeah, my blue swedish are so beautiful. and the surviving runners and rouens are so grateful to have company, even if they are locked up out of the coons reach, so they don't ahve a pond... or grass...

i need to email Rachel and thank her for them...

(AnjL) Fremont, CA(Zone 9b)

who's gonna warn the cf?

Fritch, TX(Zone 6b)

Lodi, United States

Does she warn you before the chickies hit? Nuff said.

londonderry, Australia

i agree with tf we have to trap her

(AnjL) Fremont, CA(Zone 9b)

but if we dont warn her... she'll be 'out of commision' and wont sprinkle cf dust on all the newbies.... she'll be left with memory of our phone numbers only! who's gonna rescue all those chickens?! lol!

londonderry, Australia

we have a small fortune of cf dust so the newbies will be just fine

(AnjL) Fremont, CA(Zone 9b)
