My hummingbird attractors are:
Brazilian Sage
Rose of Sharon
Red Yucca
Bog Sage
Salvia greggii
Four O'Clocks
Pink Texas Skullcap
Cuphea
Duranta
Texas Purple Sage
Desert Willow
Henry Duelburg Sage
Bicolor Salvia
and Morning Glories

Seems like their favorites are the Brazilian Sage, Rose of Sharon, and Texas Skullcap.

Texasgal, that last bloom is brilliant!

Well... see, I have a lot of those same plants, and some were planted especially for the hummers. I've seen some very large moths at the rose of sharon (especially at night). But the hummers go straight for hot lips.

It's a mystery to me. But as long as they keep coming, I guess it doesn't matter. :)

Seguin, TX(Zone 8b)

My biggest hummer plant right now is the flame acanthus...but the hot lips runs a close second. The butterflies are also loving the acanthus now that it is in full bloom.

Oh, I have a flame acanthus too. Mine is another RU gift, so it's small and isn't blooming yet. But I'll have to watch it when it is.

Have 10 hydrangea and they are all blooming right now. Heavenly.

Part of the crazy mix of cottage and tropical. There is a 12 foot white crepe myrtle and a 15 foot banana right there together.

I love this veronica as well. Really hard to pick the best.

Turk's cap and Dynamite crepe myrtle. This is where the hummers hang out.

This could go on all day and I am sure the rest of you have pictures to share.

Christi, if I was a hummingbird, I would be camped out at your Turks Cap! Yowza!!

Hummingbirds go to all of the "attractors" that I've planted for them (to some extent or other), and it's fun to watch them go down the line -- Lantana, Rose of Sharon, Hardy Hibsicus, Bat Faced Cuphia, Salvia greggii Theresa, Salvia garanitica, Mountain Sage, dwarf Pomegranate, Salvia greggii Hotlips, Mystic Spire, Agastache, Salvia greggii Pink Preference ... and then to the feeder, and back to the beginning to do it all over again. They are a delight.

Lou up in your above post where you are asking about the H patens; I do think that is what you have there and it looks like it may be trying to bloom near the bottom. But I do think that is what you have.
I have one and mine gets nearly all day sun. Hummers do love it! Mine is about 5' tall. Not as wide though probably because I have plants too close to it. I do put liquid miracle grow on mine off and on throughout the summer.

This one has gotten quite a bit of fertilizer this year as there are 4 brugs in the same bed. Guess it is too hot as they have not bloomed yet.

I love the Veronica ~ LouC. Not commonly planted and so very pretty!

I do have the Texas rose Skullcap in bloom too but haven't caught the hummers pestering it yet.

All these lovely blooms look like hummingbird heaven!

I'm at work so have no photo... would someone care to start a new thread. This one is tedious importing it thru the Possum Bell phone lines in east Texas. LOL

Great pictures everyone! Thanks for sharing, esp. some of the names of what you have! Appreciate it!
