Cocoa Beach, FL(Zone 10a)

I got them last year in a trade. The plants aren't big enough to divide yet.

Laurel, DE(Zone 7a)

Oh, I see your concern now with the division and cutting, next year perhaps.

Sacramento, CA(Zone 9a)

Terri - what a Neat Plaque to grace the front door.
Mittsy - I had a some daylilies similar in color to yours years ago, but the blooms are not nearly as nicely formed as yours.
Steven - what a lovely poppy.
I don't have any new arrangements at the moment, so here is something from spring - one of my favorite tree peonies. It's a magical cafe where flowers look good forever.....

Laurel, DE(Zone 7a)

Dianne, aren't they just the most elegant of flowers. I love the spring when they come into bloom, shortlived as mine are my Steve thinks they are the loveliest flower he has ever seen and he loves the tree as well. What a lovely shade of peach you have kind of multi peached. Beautiful display for the cafe!

Looks like it may be raining when I get home, so may spend some time in the cafe and around the block here to pass time this evening. I'll try to behave myself in the cafe, but it is never easy as some of you know LOL! Always tempting to move the flowers over to the credenza and dance on a table or 2 when the music starts. Do we still have the bands through the week or have we gotten behind in paying the bills and just have entertainment on Saturday, been so long I can't remember???

Sacramento, CA(Zone 9a)

Candee - thanks - tree peony blooms are indeed short-lived, but what a joy to behold when they are opened. This particular one is yellow ringed with orange, and that combination gives it that peachy color.

And I certainly hope there is music in the cafe. I may even be tempted to join you on one of the tables. I starting dancing really late in life, and am enjoying it immensely. Make sure you get a band that plays Argentine tango music as that is becoming one of my favorite dances.

Cocoa Beach, FL(Zone 10a)

That peony is spectacular!

Dianne, thank-you and those are beautiful peonies!!!

Candee, I'll be sure to come over more often! Otherwise feel free to stop by for a garden tour!

Mittsy, thanks and your lilies are beautiful! I brought some with me when I moved that have never bloomed before cause they never got enough sun at the old place.....so they got a space in the new bed in full all dat sun! yay!

elle

Laurel, DE(Zone 7a)

elle, I'll be sure to come by and get some of those bread n butter pickles, we love them and have stopped making them ourselves - we always wound up with more than we could eat or even give away.

Steven love the poppy, very ominous sky you have at the cafe, not sure I will stay long this eve if that storm is coming. When my hair gets wet it looks terrible and I would not want to scare anyone. Can't carry an umbrella cause I got my hands full carrying these beautiful zinnias compliments of mittsy and the dahlia weighs about 10 # or so!

Melonie welcome - you look like you can belt out a few songs and look like you have done this before. Can't wait to hear what you open with - if it's a slow song can I have the first dance Steve, my Steve doesn't mind so long as we keep an honorable distance LOL!

mittsy, my dahlia loves your zinnias, fits right in. I can't thank you enough. The vine is the vigna caracalla which will be blooming later in the season.

Enjoy for now, gotta go have a bite of dinner, wouldn't want to be in here dancing and drinkin on an empty stomach.

Sacramento, CA(Zone 9a)

Very nice arrangement, Candee. Like how you and Terri makes use of pins in your arrangements.

And Melonie is sure going to be a big hit tonight. How you are able to rustle up such a stupendous act on such short notice is amazing.

Laurel, DE(Zone 7a)

Thanks Dianne, I got the pin idea from Terri, learning from the master has been quite helpful to me.

london England, United Kingdom

Good evening all!

Glad Melonie is going down well, she has been on our books for quite a while! Luckily she had a cancellation at a nearby venue and was available to perform at short notice tonight. Melonie is a Star!
We already have 2 waitresses, Zanyhair works the night shift (she can be a bit of a dreamer) and RosieGourd works the day shift. Both pleasant enough! We had to get rid of another girl who was absolutely useless a while back

Candee, Superb arrangement! Really nice colour combinations and the proportions with the container and height of arrangement is great. Love the vine with the pins decorating the vase. Getting better all the time! Thank you.

elle, I've never heard of bread and butter pickles, sounds strange LoL! Maybe you could provide some for the cafe tonight?
Anyone else got any nibbles? might have to run over to Stevens to get a few bits if we get busy!( nice poppy pic) Thanks.
Have a good evening, careful dancing on the table by the bar, it wobbles!!
Melonie is a great dancer Dianne, you may learn a few new moves!

Thumbnail by terriculture
Laurel, DE(Zone 7a)

Hey Dianne, I can teach you a few moves myself. I have been know to rock n roll and well as for the rocketts kicks to New York New York, that is my forte'.

Thanks Terri, glad you liked it, glad you put me on to the pins, I don't stick myself nearly as much as I used to.

So are Rosiegourd and Zanyhair cleaning up after tonights bash? I saw Zany sitting at one of the tables one evening just staring at one of Sue's arrangements, I think she actually got lost in it.
Rosiegourd works way to hard to make up for Zanyhair's daydreaming, just because she knows that Zanyhair really needs the job to support all her little dumplings and I heard she has another in the oven? Don't spread that around it may be a rumor that Traci or Karma started some time ago.

Well it is 8:33 and I see Melonie is at the piano getting warmed up, so I better sit and be quiet for a bit. Wait, is Steven here yet, I was wondering about that first dance.

london England, United Kingdom

I'll give him a shout Candee, ......... STEEEVEN>>>>>>>>>>>> your wanted!

Laurel, DE(Zone 7a)

Oh my goodness she is really good and still just warming up, I am in awe!

Laurel, DE(Zone 7a)

OMG, Dianne are you listening to this - I don't see you up dancing are you in the ladies room? Better hurry she is starting her first set with Astor Piazolla Che Tango Che the tango ballet. DOn't you just love it. Don't see Steve he must still be across the street primping so I'll just sit this one out.
Hurry, hurry she is just beginning.

Laurel, DE(Zone 7a)

Oh, I hope she knows some Tina Turner and of course the Sinatra NY, NY!

london England, United Kingdom

Did Zany bring your drinks over yet Candee?

It's starting to fill up in here, hope Sue and Star don't miss all the action tonight!
Has mittsy gone home already?

Laurel, DE(Zone 7a)

Yet, she has been here 3 times already Terri.
I think mittsy might have run over to see what is keeping Steve. Dianne must have fallen in when she went to the restroom. She is missing her song, we might have to pay Melonie to do a repeat?

london England, United Kingdom

Have we got enough in the kitty? these big stars don't come cheap y'know! Especially a girl like M E L O N I E

Laurel, DE(Zone 7a)

OMG would you look at the drink that Zany just brought over for us to share Terri?

Thumbnail by haighr
Laurel, DE(Zone 7a)

Don't worry I'll come up with a few bucks extra if necessary, she is worth every penny! Oh is that a Tina Turner wig she is putting on, is she starting What's love got to do with It?

Laurel, DE(Zone 7a)

Oh look who showed up, he was sitting there in the corner watching - it's my DH Steve just smiling at all the fun we are having. What a great sport to come all the way down here so late.

Well that is very creative Zany, Thank you.
Hey Candee, Inspired by tropical daydreams no doubt!!

Everyone wants to dance with Steven, where is he anyway? still in the bath?

Oh I like this one Candy, lets boogie ........

london England, United Kingdom

Hi Steve, Great to have you visit in the cafe just for fun, not working as our DJ tonight so you can chillax and boogie, Don't mind if I dance with your fella do you Candee?

Laurel, DE(Zone 7a)

GO for it Terri, he can't stand on his feet too long, but he is pretty good on the dance floor for a short spell. I'll dance here with the next person in the door even if it is a stranger!

Laurel, DE(Zone 7a)

Whew, need a breath of fresh air Terri, I know we do - it is hot in there with the lights and all the dancing. Believe that Melonie is about to take a break. Okay out to the outside cafe we go.

Thumbnail by haighr
Laurel, DE(Zone 7a)

Oops there I go again, mingling with the other band members. I just can't seem to sit still! This is Melonie's back up, they work just for the tips so be generous if you can everyone!

Is that Steven coming there across the street on the left, can't quite make him out?

Thumbnail by haighr
Laurel, DE(Zone 7a)

Okay we will go back in for one more set cause I think Melonie has a surprise for everyone but then we have to head home as we have work tomorrow.

Laurel, DE(Zone 7a)

Terri, are you coming back in with us for the final set?

Laurel, DE(Zone 7a)

Well Melonie is back at it for the final set. Dianne hope you come out of the restroom soon you are missing all the fun. Now she is performing, oh I can't believe it and just for you - Mambo version La Cumparsita - Isn't she fabulous with all that swingin with her costume.

london England, United Kingdom

Laurel, DE(Zone 7a)
