Oh yours is a handsome one. I have 3 indoors including Rimau, and 6 that stay outside.
They all are exposed to brugs, and so far, I've been lucky, they haven't got sick by the toxity. Mind you, I have one that chewed on Adeline's leaves!

Nassau County, NY(Zone 7a)

So Kim, is this our new Hottie thread? Can I use exclamations poitns, lol, Clemen

(Kim) Philadelphi, PA(Zone 6a)

I wish I could have more DH says two is enough..allergies. Did your kitty get sick?

Nassau County, NY(Zone 7a)

Nice kitty heaven! Clemen

(Kim) Philadelphi, PA(Zone 6a)

Why yes Clemen!!! lol.

Nassau County, NY(Zone 7a)

So Kim, I have another brug that will bloom, the variagated one, has tini tiny buds yippie, can't wait! Clem

(Kim) Philadelphi, PA(Zone 6a)

Congrats!!! I so love variegated foliage. Clem my first buds..I checked on them so much I lost one or two they where sooo tiny....I just worried them off lolol!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Not at all Kim. That's what surprised me. Then I look at all the Japanese Beetles that devour some of the leaves, and none dropped dead!
Will have to get cheese cloth tomorrow to drape on the brugs.
Clemen, your excitement is contagious ^_^

(Kim) Philadelphi, PA(Zone 6a)

Those #$&^&*&* beetles drive me mad! I put down milky spore 2 years ago so it's not so bad, but the lady next door has this HUGE wild rose beast and they love it . so I put some in her yard this spring ; }

Nassau County, NY(Zone 7a)

Well, heaven, that is why Kim created she is about to #3, All crazy girls about brugs, right Kim and all of my silly hottie girls, where are all of you tonight, I know Kim got you all confused, it is not my fault this time, promise! Clemen

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

You are such a sweet heart Kim.. come be my neighbour and do my yard.
I'll need at least 10 cans of MS!!!

Nassau County, NY(Zone 7a)

hehe, Kim, put some more, or better yet, when the lady is at work, spray that wild thing with something! I've done it with my neighbor's weeds, hehe, all of the time, I hate weeds, and my neighbor likes everything "AU NATUREL" Clem

(Kim) Philadelphi, PA(Zone 6a)

Beauty rest maybe??? Heck I stay confused ; } Gotta fix hubbies lunch .. bbl!

(Kim) Philadelphi, PA(Zone 6a)

One year she cut it down and KAPOW it morphed into a mega bush yikes!!! What makes it so bad is that it hardly gets any blooms.

Nassau County, NY(Zone 7a)

Kim, I have a wild rose that only blooms in the Spring, is it this one? Clem

Thumbnail by Clemen
(Kim) Philadelphi, PA(Zone 6a)

Way to small and waaay to many blooms...color looks about right.

Nassau County, NY(Zone 7a)

That is a wild rose, even if you cut it to the ground, she comes back to be a monster! I am ready to cut her to the ground and move her next to my neighbor's side, I do not like kids crawling on my yard to get balls, maybe the thorns from this thing will stop them! Yes I like kids, but not on my yard, they can destroy my plants and I am so protective of them, don't touch this don't touch that, crazy girl I am, Clem

(Kim) Philadelphi, PA(Zone 6a)

Oh yeah stop them it will...dern thing pulls my hair when I look at it I tell ya grrrrrrr.

Nassau County, NY(Zone 7a)

So throw round up at night, lol! Clemen

(Kim) Philadelphi, PA(Zone 6a)

Oh I thought about it...but she is such a sweet lady does no gardening at all, tells me how nice my yard is....sheesh oh the guilt : }

Berkeley, CA(Zone 10a)

hello my hotness's
Clem your rose is so purdy! I am so glad to find you guys, mind if i say some of the
"experts"arent as friendly :-) ?
Here is a pic of my B,Sanguina..she hates fertilizer, and shrivles up
with even a cupfull of worm casings. Like the wild rose,if i cut her back, she turns into a beast! Feel free to drool over her and tell me how lucky i am to live in a cool hot zone!!!

Clemen your pic is beautiful! I've never gotten into roses.. some of my aunt's have them.. I don't like the thorns. But they grow some pretty ones. This ol Hottie went to bed early last night, I haven't been sleeping well this week, so it's starting to wear on me. It is a new day, had coffee on the deck, the sun is up and I made it to work, so all is well. The kitties are pretty, too. Mine got hold of a baby bunny Sunday.. DD and my niece tried to "save" it, to no avail. Tears were shed, I tried to tell them to let nature take it's course, the circle of life.... (poor baby bunny, sniff sniff) all that drama and it's parent's are probably the ones who chewed on my new hosta earlier this spring. Clem, we're all "patiently" waiting with you on those blooms... Kim, you've got some gorgeous ones blooming, don't ya? (confusion is feeling pretty normal for me, lol) I'm going to try to visit here more today... yesterday was a day from you know where, so let's sit a spell.... ("borrowed" antique set).. ahhhhhhhhhhhhh...Coffee?? Tea? Lemonaide?

(SSSSSSSSSLLLLLLLLLLLLLURRRRRRRRRRRRRRRP!) wiping keyboard... Annie, I'm green with envy, you ol hottie, yourself! It's lovely! I don't think that would grow well with all the KS humidity, I think I read that somewhere a long time ago.

Nassau County, NY(Zone 7a)

Wow, Annie, a brug that hates food! Unheard of! I kind of agree with you on that comment, but not the ones over here though lol,
I'll tell you with that rose, as pretty as it is to watch her bloom, she just grows too fast. I really need to move her out of there. I know that it covers the hottub that is behind it, so that my noisy neighbors can't see, BUT, its too much and now she is all over the Leyland pine! I really need to move her to the side fence.
Aunt B, I hope you have a better day today, I'll check on that child of mine that is geting to be too stubborn, last night when I talked to her, well she did look a little bigger, or is it my imagination! But I can't wait for the variageted one and I think one of the cuttings I got in May is getting a tini tini bud, will see this week end when I visit her and see if it is a true bud, hopefully it will! I'll post a new pic later, gotta do some housework today, yeaks! Have a nice day everyone, Clemen

Nassau County, NY(Zone 7a)

Aunt be, at what time later after my housework gets done? Clem

Berkeley, CA(Zone 10a)

Celm
I have a varigated one for 5 years now,it once gave me a single pink bloom,2 years ago. I just pulled it from the ground and moved it to a pot and she's growing gangbusters! What will make her form blooms?
As for an out of control wild rose,in this crazy world
thats my kind of problem!!
Is it super thorny?

WHEW!!! Thanks for the 'new' thread!

BerkeleyAnnie---Beautiful bloom color, WOW!!!

Marion (when you come back from Disney)---congrats on becoming a new bruggie mommy!!

NE, KS(Zone 5b)

JanLynn! How's the water level up there? Finally receeding? I hope. I knew you couldn't get to your camping site... I hope things are getting back to normal for you and your dear sister. Clem, I'm sittin there all day today, (lol) serving finger sandwiches and cookies along with the liquid refreshments... I spied the chair set in an old barn next to my property, my ex-neighbors are storing some "stuff" in. I was looking for baby kitties so I wasn't snooping... (although I've been known to) I spied the set in there and thought about it for over a year... my son is friends with the x-neighbors son. My Drew said, Mom, Brett said you could have those chairs if you want em... I said "REALLY????? I can pay something for them..." Inside I was jumping for joy and screaming with glee. A few days later, Brett came over to visit with Drew and I had them both retrieve and carry the chairs to my back yard... Ain't they COOL? The table is missing the glass top, but they are so heavy I cannot lift the chairs.... they won't be blowing over on my plants. Long story, (even longer) - lol Brett DIDN'T ask his Mother, so, they are my borrowed chairs, till I can get with his Mother and see IF she wants to sell them... thought I'd get a pic before she says $500 and I give them back... Is it Friday? It should be.

Kansas City (Joyce), MO(Zone 5a)

Hi, everyone. AuntB was so kind as to share a Versi Peach with me a while back and I have since taken cuttings and started them laying on the side like a log. They now have little leaves coming on and I need to find new homes for the little darlings.

Anyone interested?
I am sort of a newbie but I sent one in the mail the other day and it arrived safe and sound, so I am ready to try again. I am guessing I have four more starts if anyone is interested, otherwise I guess they will be homeless.....just kidding I would have to move furniture out to get them all in this winter. DH already thinks he lives in a jungle....

Anyway if you are interested email me.
Thanks again AuntB, this is fun.
Joyce

Hello all and thank you for the warm welcome. Now with red shamed face I have to admit to being a failure with brugs.
Last Winter, a TtT friend sent me 4 different color Angel Trumpets. (I didn't know they were brugs) I managed to root the cuttings over winter, but must have planted in ground (didn't know better) to soon. Gee, I'm so sorry. I do have 1 white Angel Trumpet(so glad to learn it's a brug) living, a gift from someone else, that has been in the ground, this will be the third Summer, it is small and it has never bloomed. I looked at it this morning and the leaves are turning yellow like oneI saw on the last thread.
Cat64129, if you do send the cutting, I promise I'll do whatever suggested to make it live.
Thank you all again for your kindness.
Faye

Faye, Hi! I think I might dig that brug up and put her in a pot. You can control it's environment a little easier in a pot, and it might be easier to learn about them... but if you are getting some new cuttings, leave it be and try to offer it some fertilizer, 20-20-20 is good, I'm still able to find those numbers on Miracle Grow products... I think it's All Purpose. Sprinkle a couple tablespoons around the plant and water it in. Oh, Happ, you're sharing what I shared... I love it! Oh Clemen, another brug??!! You little addict, you! lol My property is always available for R&R, stop by anytime. :) Here's a pic of the Peach Versi the cutting(s) Joyce/Happ is offering were taken from... they start out creamy white (photo taken at night, kinda washed out) and turn a pretty "peach" color (hence the name)... Yabba Dabba, catch ya all later my HOT brug buddies! Hey, yea, where ARE all the newbie HOTTIES? (Marion's visiting her Mom now, not sure when she'll be home, maybe this weekend)

How do I get the blame : } come on peeps!! Yay! for you and your new baby Clem. Oh AuntB how I yearn to have blooms like that just one time. That pic is Awesome!!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Ok, I have been reading, but I have to ask why some brugs bloom, and others don't?

I would be so bummed if my first brug, does not bloom. So far it is doing very well. Every day, I go out to check on her, and I am amazed at her growth. Some day soon, I hope to see blooms.
Take care, and stay cool.
