a brown booby, from a winter trip to Mexico

Here's a female grosbeak from yesterday. They seem to like safflower seeds. I get alternate visits between the male and female this time each year, then they're gone. Maybe this year they'll stick around.

Here are two bluejays in the stream (artificial). The one on the left is in mid-bathing.

Nice birdies, evie_beevie. What a cleverly designed feeder. Keeps the rain and the bigger birds out, eh?

Margaret - The dome also is adjustable so you can weed out even medium size birds if you wanted. I think it is the Aspects Vista Dome Feeder. And the male rose-breasted grosbeak is there right now...ha ha, nice coincidence.

Nanny, I'm impressed that you know your sparrows! I'm lucky if I can tell doves apart! Here's a little White-Winged Dove hanging out with a big Mourning Dove.

What you mean that there are different kinds of Doves and Sparrows??? I thought that all little brown birds were sparrows. LOL

LOL! My neighbor laughs at himself because he calls every yellow bird a canary -- much easier to identify that way!

Was once talking to someone who claimed not to be able to tell the difference between a sparrow and a swan!

Elphaba I still struggle with the sparrows...but have made progress since last winter! lol

I made a folder on My Pictures for sparrow pics and once I have them ID'd, I put the best ones in there with the correct name to have to look at and compare now!
