I am issuing you a challenge. . .

Deland, FL & Hot Spr, AR

We divide our time between FL (winter) and AR the rest of the time we aren't traveling. We take several trips back to FL during the summer and fall to take care of the yard, etc. I have tried to plant flowers and shrubs that bloom at different times, and for the most part take care of themselves. For the past few years since we have been traveling back and forth, I am fortunate to experience spring in FL and spring once more when we return to AR. What a glorious sight with the camellias and azaleas blooming. We travel by car back and forth and I am also blessed with being able to enjoy all of the lovely gardens we pass along the way. Last fall, I was trying to find information on how to make my Queen of the Night bloom and upon returning from a trip to FL last week, found that lo and behold, it had bloomed while we were away. I was sorry to have missed it, but knowing that it will probably bloom again next year keeps me hoping to see it. I like to sit in our sunroom and look at our back yard and just enjoy it. Someone asked me once why we had so many plants in the back yard (as opposed to the front) and that nobody saw them. I found this somewhat amusing, as my husband and I enjoy them and that is who I garden for!

JeanK I am the same way about the backyard having more to enjoy than the front. I tend to neglect the front because that is not where I go to relax. I do plan on giving it some curb appeal but the back is so much more important to us!

ZZ - You're comment is proof positive of the glass is half full or half empty! nice comeback to the bro..not every 'gets' how fulfilling it is to nurture mother natures finest!
