I'd like to propose a Miniature and Fairy Gardening forum

(Taylor) Plano, TX(Zone 8a)

I wasn't really sure where to post this, until someone directed me here. Below is the thread I started, originally:

http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/865453/

I see miniature gardens & fairy gardens mentioned all over the site(terrarium gardening, container gardening, alpine gardening, garden art, etc.). It would be nice to have them all in one place... A wee little forum of their own :0)
thank you

Here is a miniature garden thread that was posted very recently. http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/854803/

I see them all over this site, and if you do a search on miniature, or fairy, you'll find plenty.

I just wish they were all in one forum :0)

Yes, yes, yes!!!!

Scotia, CA(Zone 9b)

Can we add miniature railroad gardens to the mix? Maybe "Miniature Fairie and Railroad Gardens" ? I know that is a very popular hobby in this area.

(Taylor) Plano, TX(Zone 8a)

I was assuming the miniature railroad gardens would fall under the miniature garden part, and that fairies and gnomes would both fall under the fairy gardening part

There are as many gnome threads as there are fairy threads...if not more.

I think they all apply to a miniature or fairy garden. :0)

Scotia, CA(Zone 9b)

True, but railroad hobbiests are more likely to find it if the term railroad is included. I know I have searched under that term and found some very interesting ideas for miniature plantings.

So:
Miniature, Railroad, and Fairy/Gnome Gardening?

Scotia, CA(Zone 9b)

Yes, something like that should work.

(AnjL) Fremont, CA(Zone 9b)

(AnjL) Fremont, CA(Zone 9b)

(Taylor) Plano, TX(Zone 8a)

That is very cool! You are going to have a magnificent mini garden! And how cool it will look like a mini garden of your own garden
Neat!
(and very well built, I might add!) Kudos to your hubby!

OOO-anjl-tell you DH to send some of those my way for my fairy garden-I am going to do a fairy garden swap, so you will have to participate-you already have the itmes for it:)

(Taylor) Plano, TX(Zone 8a)

I am not that handy, nor is my hubby, so I'll have to buy one :0)
Here is one I have my eye on:

And here is another great site that BerkeleyAnnie suggested to me:

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

those are great sites-you will have to make sure to be one of the first ones at my swap so you can post some idea links:)

My head is spinning from traveling all over Dave's looking for and gathering information on Fairy Gardening. It would be so convenient to have a forum dedicated it. Surely it would be very popular!

I have an old bbq grill and have been considering turning it into a minature fairy garden for grandkids so I need ideas I would love a forum on miniatures.

Berkeley, CA(Zone 10a)

is there a way to delete your posts?

Omgosh! An old barbeque would be PERFECT!! Already on it's own stand with wheels!
What a great idea!!

Annie-I don't think you can delete it entirely, but if you click the little blue "edit" in the box that has your name, and date, and time you posted, you can just erase all your words...

an old bbq grill is perfect! What a great way to recycle

Hi..This is Ernie a friend of Beahive. I am a real life boy fairy! We need our own forum to discuss all our Fairy issues. Believe me..there are plenty!! Being so small for one and the fact that we are often left for hours on end in the hot sun! ( Bea is working on this!!) We have rights and we need to be heard!

All you faries out there ..let your voices be heard ..here at DG!!
Of course, ask permission of your Garden parents first before you use their computer and post your comments!!

What perfect timing! I just found my two little fairies from before our move. They were in storage for almost two years. Both are glad to be out of the box and are sitting in pots, one with a Josephine and the other with a Guernsey Cream clematis growing inside the house. I have forgotten their names, but they came from Enchanted Gardens also. Now that I have a camera, maybe I'll even get a picture on here. I just need to learn how to do it. I'm for a Fairy Garden forum!

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

all very nice.... can't wait to get mine started

(Pegi) Norwalk, CA(Zone 10b)

Now I'm going to have to get some faries too, not satisfied with just gnomes. I wonder if they can live in the same garden together in peace.

They really should have a home of their own though. so a fairy garden is a must.
