pretty good..busy too...
It's been a tough summer so far..keeping up with expenses and everything else. I haven't had time to post photographs and am barely keeping up with the garden..
A bright spot was hanging out with Caydee and Chuck last saturday night at their nursery (Caldwells nursery.) They're alot of fun and that place is really beautiful. It's in Rosenburg
Tropical Garden #12
When my daughter and husband left Houston 2 years ago, I never get to Houston anymore. Caldwell's in Rosenburg was one Vossner told me about. Someday I will get there.
It's definately worth a visit- they live right there, and so it's their garden too. Landscaped like magic, wonderful bamboos of every type..it's an amazing place. It was nothing but a flat field when they started, in fact the surrounding areas are still flat fields..
You can tell they are gardeners just like us, because they have it set up probably just the way any one of us would, had we the resources and facilities...
I could use some inspiration out here in the middle of flat land for miles and miles!!!!!!!
lets build the most fantasticly landscaped nursery south of????
If I weren't 66 years old, I would jump on this idea in a heartbeat, RJ!
Of course you will be included Ms. Gail. We will make a day of it and will probably have to hire out my husband or Jimmy to pull a trailer to put all our plant purchases on since you and I pretty much fill up a vehicle on are own. Could you imagine having two or three more in our group plant shopping. We'd all have to drive home with plants on our laps. Of course, if I recall I've done that before with just you and me shopping in your Element. WE'RE SO BAD!!!!!!!!!
aaahem
Oh, Patty, I know how to shop and I know how to pull a horse trailer. We can take my brother's pick up truck which of course has a heavy hitch. The plants will even get enough air in a horse trailer (but not too much). This sounds exciting!
What is this aahem stuff (LOL)
LOL...
I think about you alot these days...everytime I take Brian to work...guess where I pass in front of.....Carlton House....your friends store.
That is right! I forgot that you two traded yours and my plants at the Carlton House (LOL)
She is down here all the time because her boys have their big boat in Rockport and have houses and condos there now. She will be down next weekend again. I am loving it that she goes back and forth all the time.
Two of her boys want her to get a house there (in 1/3rds) meaning they are just being nice to their mother by saying , 'it is a good investment for us' as Betty will be the only one using it should she take them up on the offer.
If I hadn't grown up here on the farm, I would love to live in Rockport. Good nurseries, good HEB store, very good restaurants and lots of fishing.
