Hot and humid today but the forecast for the week is great - 70's!!
Today's Weather in Your Garden - 23
Wicked shot Victor! Amazing!
We have rain in our forecast for most of the week.
Such a trajic story Eleanor...
What a pic Victor, was that from yesterday's storm???? Clem
No, from the one the other night. Thanks.
Yesterday was just awfull here, your pic was like a replica of what we experienced, and of course darling hubbie had to watch it all under a canopy. I made him come inside, I did not want a fried father's day today!!! Clemen
Nice pics Victor! Eleanor
Thunder stormes last nite and due today
cool breezes Hi 78* cloudy.
Rain last last night for us, too. It was just a slow and gentle rain storm though. I think there may have been some lightning, but I fell asleep just as the rain began to come down.
Currently:
57° with green-ish fog and drizzle
Wind: 0 MPH
Humidity: 94% (too high for my taste)
Dewpoint: 55°
Pressure: 29.81 in. and steady
Eleanor ~ I am so sorry about the young boy who didn't make it. It must have shaken you up pretty badly.
Thanks Eleanor. Very humid this morning. About 66. T-storms in store again.
Your NE humidity arrived here yesterday. I'm sending it back.
Is that even possible there? What is it up to - 35 %?
We get VERY humid weather here in August and September. It's awful.
Rainy morning here today. Neat photos, Victor! Eleanor, I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of the boy in the river. How terrible for everyone, including you!
As the destruction/reconstruction moves to the third wall of the house this morning, I must admit to feeling pretty stressed about the extent of it all. We all thought it was possibly only one sill that needed replacing completly......but that was just the beginning of a major dilemma, now that we are retired. Fortunately, we do have complete faith in the expert who is doing it, as he has done other sill work for us before and he is known in this area to be the best there is. We had to wait two years to get back on his calendar because he is very much in demand, and he is very intelligent and creative in trying to avoid taking the whole house apart, but "It is what it is," as my DH says with shell-shocked eyes. On Wednesday, they will open up the last area to get the final view of what still has to be done. I have been standing out at the side of the road trying to offer myself for huge sums of money to the loggers that pass by hourly, but so far that hasn't worked well either. I guess I really must get more aggressive about losing some serious insulation! LOL
Wow - best of luck, Louise. Seems anything with houses runs into a lot of money.
Oh Louise. You're very funny even when under a lot of stress!
Were you thinking of handing out cookies to the loggers?
83 and very humid. The line of storms is on the way. Hail is possible, along with the high winds and heavy rain.
Louise, maybe one of the loggerheads has a nice strong piece they can cut for your sill(s)!
Thunder storm and hail just passed an hour ago and here comes another one, sky is very black.
Hope I get to the mail befor I melt. he he he
Plants in the mail??!
Yesterday was so gross out. Thick and ya know I never looked at the temp, I just new it was disgusting out, gave me a migrane. Had rain storms all the way home from church.
Woke up to gray skies, then it got sunny and it's clouding up right now, 85 degrees, not too humid
Wow - it's very humid here now, Jen.
My USA check came now I can get my cat's teeth fixed.
Expecting checks from any other countries??
noooooooooooo?
Why do I sense a set up here
So sorry, Eleanor about the boys--growing up, we lived near a supply resevoir--we were not supposed to go near it, but we swam in summer & skated in winter--kids do dumb things. Louise--what a project! But what a wonderful old home to preserve. Weather has been AWFUL---cloudy, humid, nasty storms--my veggie garden looks drowned.
Now that looks good enough to eat!
Hearing thunder now. Nice, WC. I think the bunnies have eaten all of mine.
yep thundering here now too... time to shut down the comp.... talk to you guys later
JoAnn, no hail here and very little rain.
PI-- rymes with hist, down around 2:25 and hailed.
Thunder now and very black clouds.
We are in a severe thunderstorm warning and the rain has just started to really pelt. Just north of us in Pleasant Valley, there was a tornado warning. Daisygrrl, if you're out there, are you OK in Rhinebeck? It looks like N. Dutchess was really getting the worst storm!
The sky is completely black here right now.
Think i'll be shutting my computer down now too...
There's a row of severe thunderstorm going through New Hampshire too right now. Severe warnings and watches for most of NH.
I have rain/thunderstorms every day this week up until Sunday. It's been raining since Sat. night with very few hours of lull.
Wed we may see some sun before thunderstorms hit again and then it's rain until Sunday. My daylilies ought to bloom nicely after this!

Storms really cooled it off - 60!! Nice.
Harper - LOL!
Jo Anne - Give cookies to the loggers???!!! Not on your life! I'm a stress eater, so every cookie in the house is MINE! But also, I'm out of cookies.
Victor - good idea on getting the sills from the loggerheads, but our "Sill Guys" have already taken care of that. They really are very good and they work hard all day. Being from the South, I feel an intuitive urge to serve them lemonade every 15 minutes, but thankfully they have begged off in favor of actually doing the work. My poor DH is exhausted tonight from unscrewing and removing 20 porch boards that go across the front part of the wrap-around porch. To make myself useful, I watched the US Open today while everyone else was busy. I think it's called being paralyzed.
The photo I'm posting is actually taken INSIDE the house!! This is the "birthing room" where the wife of our first settler had a baby every other year for 25 years!!! This little room just got a new window looking up towards the meadow today. It still doesn't have a floor. This room will be my DH's little office. I'll post some more shocking photos tomorrow. LOL
It's still thundering and raining here tonight. I'm shocked that I still have the internet with our internet satellite.
