Travelling Gnome Game
I am guessing that either Linda or her sis are not feeling well and she is dealing with other things at the moment. I have a d-mail in to her, and will wait to hear from her as to how things are. If she is busy/not well, etc. I will try to pick up Dave and Bullwinkle(if he is not lost!!!), and go from there. I'm sure she will post when she is able.
Good News!!!
Bullwinkle did arrive safe and sound on Monday. He missed Canada day celebrations due to ill health.
So, what to do now?? Do I bring them both out to ggd today, (we're heading out to see the lily show in Sidney) or wait for ViolaAnn to come on Tuesday and take him on a trip?

I don't think they will make it Carol! After they leave here, they have to go to Campbell River, then Vancouver. I guess they will just have to make do without the stampede!

Well, I'm heading out to the Island tomorrow with a conference group from Vancouver. With a bit (lot) of luck I might be able to meet up with Linda and/or Glenda. It would be cool if I can help send Dave and Bullwinkle off from Victoria.
BUT since DH is at TWO conferences running concurrently in downtown Vancouver and mostly at the one which is NOT doing this trip, I really don't know anything more than that we leave for the ferry at 7:30 tomorrow morning and will spend time at Butchart Gardens. If there is anything else on the program, he didn't find out (even though I specifically asked him to do so).
Let's all keep our fingers crossed.

Glenda - I think Ann is meaning that we somehow left a few people in Edmonton off the list. With all that rivalry between Edmonton and Calgary, I guess we need to be careful. LOL I also note that "violist" in Calgary isn't on the list. Did she want to be included?

What happened to Dave and Bullwinkle? I've been sort of MIA for the last two weeks as I attended 40 concerts at the Ottawa International Chamber Music Festival, but I can't find any sign of their chronicles. Did they fall afoul of DG?

yes, in a sense they had - some pics were "objectionable" to DG, so the whole Chronicles 1, 2 & 3 were deleted. 'Nuff said, that's my opinion I think, anyway....
I propose we take up with the Chronicles again, and find out where Dave & Bullwinkle are............. in limbo, one supposes? Anyone else wanna pick up where we left off? Are the boys still in Vancouver?
I remember someone saying we may slow down over the winter, but I'd said there are a lot of gardens indoors, and Art Galleries. We have the Devonian Gardens here in Calgary, and of course Edmonton has the West Edmonton Mall with the Water Slide lol - picturing the boys going down the slides hahahahahaha
Anyway - the boys can go skating on the Rideau Canal, and other winter touristy stuff/things, etc!!!
We are waiting to hear where the boys are. They should be on their way to Edmonton, and once they are there, a new thread will be started.

I'm very saddened that ALL of the Dave and Bullwinkle Chronicles were removed. There were some lovely adventures and pictures of wonderful gardens which are no longer documented. I do look forward to seeing the next installment.

I did email DG admin to ask why all the threads were removed and they informed me it was at growins request.
Too bad cause they were great!
That isn't 'exactly' accurate I believe but 'nuff said.
I also emailed DB, and was told they had a complaint, then ammended that slightly to intonate that there are thousands who potentially read the thread.
Also that they spke to growin and he agreed to the removal after they spoke to him. They couldn't edit them without leaving unexplained "holes" in the conversation that wouldn't make sense. And the pictures couldn't be removed, leaving the conversations.
Anyhoooooooooooo - moving onwards & upwards - again, I wonder where the "boys" are..........

I'm on the US traveling gnome thread and would like to learn what not to do. What topics do we need to avoid to not have out threads yanked? Sorry if this is over and done with...but you can help others not have the same result! Thanks!!!!
I think this traveling gnome topic should be only associated with gardening & landscapes, since that's what this forum is about. Peoples' personal non-gardening activities and group gatherings have no place on this gnome's travels. People need to use discretion and some common sense. I don't think it's appropriate to be snapping pictures and chatting about travels to locations that are non-gardening events, topics or places.
