I can probably do up an itinerary, just from the people who have indicated here that they want to be in on it. Hopefully if there is anyone else who wants to join in, they will pipe up before we get Dave on his way.
Here's the list of who is participating:
Victoria:
mg99
ggd
Vancouver:
growin
Calgary:
dahlianut
grow-jo
tallulah41
fancyvan
joannabanana
Victoria Harbour ON:
bettypauze
Erin ON:
erynne
Perth ON:
drivenbonkers
Blyth ON:
ginnylynn
NFLD:
digging-dirt
Any one else out there want to join in??? Let's give it until Bullwinkle arrives at Linda's and Dave and Bullwinkle have their Victoria time together. Once he arrives, I will set up an itinerary, which will probably just be Victoria, Vancouver, Calgary, then head on to everyone in Ontario, and then off to Newfoundland.
If everyone would d-mail me with their addresses, I will make up an address sheet that will accompany Dave and Bullwinkle on their travels.
Any ideas or suggestions, please let me know.
Glenda

Travelling Gnome Game
Good morning all.
Glenda, I do have a suggestion.
Does it make sense that we all agree to spend the bit extra on postage to send Dave and Bullwinkle with a tracking number from Canada Post just in case they ever go missing en route? We don't want to lose them!
--Ginny
Ginny, I do agree about the tracking number, it'll be good to be able to keep track of them.
I'll just need an address to send the 'Bull' to.....
Why don't you dmail Linda (MG99) directly for the address? That might even be what she's waiting for :-)
Tracking number sounds good. Expedited parcel is the cheapest way to go, and it still gives you a tracking number.
He could be packed in it AND we could put sticker or something of sorts to show where he's travelled to...lol..if you'd like one I could go shopping..
Not sure what you mean Bettypauze. Packed in what???
must have skipped the -suitcase..just so excited about his arrival that I plum forgot the suitcase he travels in..lol
Drivin, I"ll dmail you my address, my new address, we're moving on the 25th so it should be in the box. It's one of those locked 'super' mailboxes and we already have the key so it's secure. I'll head out today to get that rad hatted wooden gnome. No worries about sending dollars to help pay, it's my contribution to the great Canadian road trip.
Linda
Can you add another in Ottawa? Just happened on this thread today?
Ann
You bet. You're on the list. Will you send me a D-mail with your address please? Thanks.
Hi Guys
You can put me on the list too please.
Ann
Edmonton
I will Dmail ggd.
Just found out about this today and Im on board for sure and sending you my address Glenda
ME TOO AND MAYBE HE NEEDS A PASSPORT THAT WE COULD ALL STAMP did anyone keep an expired one? you could take their mugshots before they leave
Sure, count me in if it's not too late! I like the passport idea.
ggd, I'll Dmail you my address.
Sandy
I have an old passport
Hi all. I've been tres sick wid a cold in my node blah. But I'm baaaaaaack and it sounds like Dave and Bullmoose's Great Canadian Garden Tour is about to commence! Foolys I can be the addressee for Cowtown unless someone already volunteered? Let me know please. Thanks.
How long do we keep the Gnome? If it's a week, we'll be into skiing season before we finish. maybe it should be just a few days. Or maybe its route should be set up so that we rely on Canada Post as little as possible.
Ann
I think we will just have to rely on everyone to send Dave and Bullwinkle on their merry way, as soon as they can. I guess if he is on the road that long, he will have to have a winter jacket and toque??? : - )
ggd, how many are signed up so far?
Ann, maybe you and I should pair up, since we're so close - like those Calgarian Fooly gals have.
Sandy
We have two of us in Victoria, two in Vancouver, 2 in Edmonton, 5 in Calgary, 6 in Ontario, one in Newfoundland. I have a couple of D-mails out to a few other people who MIGHT be interested.
We need some SK and MB people!!!! And maybe a rep in Quebec??
Make sure he gets to Calgary by July 5 - then he can go to Stampede!
I'm all over it fancyvan. looking for cowboy hats and boots ^_^
If he can't make it, I can...packing my bags now...
Just saw this thread...I'd be happy to take a few gnome or moose or whatever pics in my garden...even a few in our botanical garden if you like!
As a heads up, DCarrington is no longer a member of DG from what I understand....I find it hard to believe there are no members from NS, NB or PEI.
Todd
Todd I think Dave and Bullwinkle would LUV a trip to the botanical garden. Also burn2007 is from NB and I sent a Dmail about this. What about lilypon from SK? Has anyone dmailed her yet?
I just received a dmail from Glenda alerting me to this thread. I'll be happy to have visitors......they can help at my patches (am thinking of supplying Dave with a little shotgun.......he can go after the gophers for me). :)~
LOL lilypon. I'm picturing Bullwinkle stalking gophers. Much like 'man bites dog' ^_^
Oh, but it's the little guys you have to watch out for ;-)
LOL it could be an interesting see Bullwinkle doing it too! Now picturing the two of them loaded for bear crawling about in those gopher tunnels. :^))
Ginny now I'm picturing my nemesis with teeth jutting out all over and red glowing eyes. :S :S :S
......in a burrow off one of the tunnels salivating and standing over the goodies he liberated from my patch. :(
ok this is getting spooky :o Do you have Damien gophers?
I'm beginning to think so........we've got traps, older men (who had lots of experience snaring them in the thirties and beyond), slingshots etc. going after them and yet the little demons survive. :b
Cowtown (in our new age brilliance) built a new subdivision on a huge gopher town. So far I think the score is gophers 1000: humans 0. I know about this because I was trying to get a humane trap for the spawn of satan that lives in my tree and I was told traps were booked til 2010 :O
LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL 2010 oh boy :S :S :S good luck Dahlianut!
BTW I should mention as a child I hated seeing the boys snare gophers (wouldn't like to see it now either) but I'm a little more open to the idea after my pea patch, two years ago, had the bottom 2/3rds of every pod munched. This year I've got a spectacular germination and growth (even with the ones that the little devils munched down to almost soil level).
I second dahlianut's suggestion that she be the Cowtown addressee for Dave and Bullwinkle. Once they're here, we can co-ordinate visits....
jo-north
Duly noted!!!!
LOL Picturing your gopher with "...teeth jutting out all over and red glowing eyes ...in a burrow off one of the tunnels salivating and standing over the goodies he liberated...". And somehow, in my imaginary picture, he's grown to be about 6 feet tall - maybe a bigger version of this guy? http://davesgarden.com/community/blogs/i/21623/
ah but we will now have to apply for bullwinkle to carry a side arm and he'll have to fit a ball cap over those horns instead the jazzy but soon to be extinct park warden stetson - a moment of silence please
I think we're ok jagonjune about arming Bullwinkle. Huntin' varmits definitely falls under the 'self defense' section of the Criminal Code IMHO. (I just KNEW I should have been a lawyer)
