Oh goodie, does that mean I can stuff your auto mobile with extra plants!?

Humble, TX

I will bring our truck if you would like to stuff. Start two papayas for me, and anything else you would like to share! I have a whole backyard to transform. I already have a loquot tree from your compost pile that Mibus rescued, and I love it dearly.
Tabitha

Houston, TX(Zone 9a)

Okay...
I'll save some plumerias, papaya, climbing hydrangea or Clerodendrum Bungei, Clerodendrum trichotimim, night jasmine (want brugs?) crinum...oh well..I could go on..I've already deported 7 pick up trucks and 1 SUV load of plants this year...

Humble, TX

I think I should pass on the night jasmine and brugs because I have a toddler that eats flowers, leaves, or anything that looks tasty in the garden, and I think both of those are supposed to be poisonous. The rest of the plants sound very fun! (I looked them up today on plant files.)

My husband also said that "love it dearly" is an understatement about the loquot. I guess you could say I get a little excited about new plants, especially ones that produce tasty things to eat or pretty flowers that smell good. LOL

Humble, TX

This bed was nothing but bananas three months ago. I wanted to do a mix of flowers and vegetables, but it only gets about 5-7 hours of sunlight in the front of the bed and little light in the back. This year I experimented and realized that tomatoes and peppers will grow in the front half. I have also put iris and daylilies along the front edge. But I need something for the back, preferably something that smells good when it flowers since it is under our bedroom window. If you have any suggestions or plants, I would love to hear from you!

I will get out in backyard tomorrow and see what I have to trade. May not have very unusal plants though.
jana

Sugar Land, TX(Zone 9a)

I'll have to print this thread out! LOL. I think I have everyone cvered except, Bettydee. RJ asked for the orchid vine (I only have one) prior to your request. I do think I have a few moreseeds....need to check my seed pile in the shed. If so, I'll go ahead and plant one for ya. How about that?

Heavinscent - bat face and porterweed (pink or purple?)
ilovejesus - milkweed and salvia (I would love some walking iris and parrot lilys)
RJ - blue daze and orchid vine
Bettydee - orchid vine seedling (I still need to doublr check though) and salvia
Madrid2000 - Porterweed (pink or purple), Blue Daze, Salvia (Coral Nymph) and a cutting of 'Belinda's Dream' Rose
Blueeyes - Milkweed and porterweed
Please let me know if I've missed someone.

I do also have a seedling of Mexican Bauhinia that has just sprouted. It's only about 2" right now and is my pride and joy so I want to trade that for something super spectacular. I have a large one in the front yard and it's the biggest butterfly magnet of all my plants. Hands down....NOTHING compares. I think it's a slow grower though, so, whoever would like it must have patience. It took a loooooong time for the seedling to germinate.

I can also try to start cuttingsof (no promises though):
mexican flame vine
snail vine
passion vine (incense)
cat mint
lemon balm
bee balm
patchouli
rosemary
oregano
basil (sweet and thai)
peppermint
rue
beautyberry
mexican oregano
st. john's wort
hyssop
sage (culinary)
shrimp plant
justica
oxipetalum
black eyed susan vine (yellow)
salvia clevelandii
mexican bush salvia
abutilon (Marilyn's Choice)....really no promises on that one. Only had luck once.
pigeonberry
various begonias (the big spotted purple ones....don't know the names)

And I can dig up a few crocosmias.

Since it's a month away, I have time to try and start the cuttings now.

Sugar Land, TX(Zone 9a)

Moodeen - could I please trade you for a Jewel of Opar and a Crinum?

Here I said that I didn't need any more plants. Bah!

Humble, TX(Zone 9a)

Knolan, may I ask you something??. I have a blackeyed susan vine and I must be doing wrong.!
I can't seem to please her! What do you do to make her happy?
jana

Sugar Land, TX(Zone 9a)

Actually, I don't have a large one....yet. I bought one for my mother a few months ago. Before I gave it to her, I took a few cuttings for myself and they took. My cuttings are growing in partial shade and I've planted it to use as a ground cover rather than a climber. My mother planted hers (as a climber) where it gets morning sun and afternoon shade. I think it's too hot for almost anything here (besides roses and drought tolerant plants) in full sun anymore. It seems to like a consistently moist, but not wet, soil. I fertilize with fish emulsion and seaweed kelp but only once a month. I think it's recommended to do so more often but I'm of the belief that less is more and try to let my plants naturalize with what mother nature gave me here. Works for some and other plants aren't happy with me.

DeRidder, LA(Zone 9a)

Nadine, If you have enough to spare I'd like a few of your gingers too and your dwarf crinum Menehue.

Tabitha, Could I get these? Pineapple sage, Mexican Heather, & Sweet herb?

Rjuddharrison, Would love to trade for these: Plumeria, pappaya, & climbing hydrangea.

Knolan, Could I trade for these? Porterweed, orchid vine, almond verbene, Mex. flame vine, snail vine, patchouli, blackeyed susan vine, spotted purple begonia, crocosmias, pigeonberry?

Will be posting my trade list soon.

(Nadine) Devers, TX(Zone 9b)

Houston, TX(Zone 9a)
