Must get thick and crowd other plants out. Rather pretty in my opinion.
David i think you are right - rather have it there than some of the other green growth and it has begun to spread. although the voles got to some over the winter by my shore.
chicken when did you plant the elephant ears? mine have not broke the surface yet.
Very healthy looking lillies there Schickenlady!
Nice change Sherrie!Give yourself a break! It looks great and it does take time...unless you have a magic wand your not telling us about?? The Red lily is a Asiatic Lily...not a daylily. Asiatic come from a bulb, daylilies do not.
I had some catching up to do. Such great pictures.
Anita - love that noid and the spider zinnia is gorgeous.
Bill - your yard is beautiful. Love the pond!
Sherrie - it looks great!! Thanks for including the before shot.
Here's my latest. Totally inspired by all of you. Found this old adirondack chair in the garage. Placed it over a stump in the front yard.
OK BILL!!!!! I am definatly going to get a water feature for my shade garden.
I live on a hill so a pond is out, but I was at Oriental Garden Supply and saw some drilled out Basalt pillers used as a fountain.
Gotta have it.
Your pond is fantastic, close to Monet's garden.
Is there a wood bridge?
great tree Dave!!!!
If any of you are interested in beardless iris, please come over and take a look at the threads Boojum, I and others are doing on the iris forum. We are hoping Pirl will join us when she gets some Japanese iris.

Thanks!
These are some of my EE, I started these back in March...so, I cheat. lol. This is the pic of Calocasia sp. This is the very large "bulb" you find in a lot of the box stores (I got my original one from Brent and Becky's about 5-6 years ago, and have been using the pups since!)...the bulbs are usually 4-6" around.
The one in the back corner is Colocasia gigantea, next to it with the dark leaves is Calocasia 'Black Magic' and next to that is Agave 'Spot.' There are potted up DL's waiting to be transplanted around there also.
*Had to edit...between 'Black Magic' and 'Spot' is a Xanthesoma.

This is a 1/2 whiskey barrel that I have planted with Canna musafolia (Banana Canna) it has 2 Morning Glory 'Tie Dye' growing up it, a Canna Phaison (Tropicana), and wave petunia, and then the Calocasia sp. The corner is the other Calocasia gigantea (from Logee's) anyone who was at the RU and went to Logee's will remember that EE!
The other Dahlia that opened is one of 2. Not sure which one. I bought these at HD and Lowes in a package sale. The 2 smaller whiskey barrels that I planted them in, I planted 1 package of one type, and 1 of the other...so it can only be 1 of 2 choices, but frankly it doesn't look like any of the pics on the packages. So, it's only going to be possible to name them off the package names...one is 'Seattle' the other is 'Akita'
Holy free holy. I have no idea what I did with that last pic. I cropped it, and resized it to "web page" size...but doesn't seem to have worked?
One of my foxglove finally bloomed! I have planted foxgloves from babies for over 10 years, and have had absolutely no luck with them...FINALLY I get a bloom...wooohoooo.
Hem I guess I am lucky... I just throw foxglove seeds around and they thrive... very pretty dahlia
sure it's not bigfoot?
Nice Thom!!
ge - no bridge - there is a white pine that has falled across the pond that turtles use. need to be careful if attempting to cross - there are a lot of nothern black water snakes in there.
I need to get out to the island with the canoe and clean it up a bit. Ihave a bird house out there that you can barely see. it is about 4 stokes by canoe, not that big of a pond - 10 to the other side.
