Welcome, Jan! I hope you find an RU nearby. They are so much fun!
Nance - thanks for posting that carpet method. I get it now, thanks to your photo and Victor's patient guidance! LOL Your pond looks nice! I'd love to have the sound of water falling over rocks close by!
DG Names, real names II
Welcome, Jan!
Hello Jan & welcome!!!!
Back a bit---dragonflies will land on you--had one land on my knee. I don't know why, there must be better places to rest. Hope more come as I think some eat mosquitos.
I think you may be able to tell what my name is, but I wanted to be included in the list.
Happy Gardening,
Tom
hello Tom... boy o boy is that list growing quick
Welcome Tom. Glad you found us. BEV
Hello to Tom and Bev and Jan! I love how quickly our family is growing!!
Hi Tom. I will add you to the list. Eleanor
You're welcome, Louise. (Hey - How's Molly?)
Enjoy the great info and friendship, Tom!
Send some of those dragonflies this way they would enjoy the all-you-can-eat buffet at my house, then maybe I can go out without covering up. That's not fun in the hot, sticky stuff we've been having. lol
Hope everyone has a blessed day, but everyday in the garden is a blessed day.
Hopefully, I'll start learning names quickly. Sometimes, this brain freezes.
Jan
Wow, you forget to read one for a few days and look what happens. Hello to all and welcome.
Welcome Tom!!

Hi all...for a RU closer to Jersey go here:
http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/861584/#new
PA. is a little closer than Mass. right? I think it's in a month!
Beautiful darter, Willie.
Nance - Molly is hanging in; here's a shot of her on my potting shed porch that I took tonight. She's so funny. I keep a cannister of treats for her inside. Even though it's a hike for her by the end of the day, tonight she wanted to go out and then she marched right up to the potting shed and sat there until I came up to the garden and gave her a treat. Thanks for asking about my little girl!! LOL And how are your pups doing???
Louise, that's such a sweet photo of Molly and Cuppatea.
We now have a garden chair just like your red one by the potting shed ( btw I'd love to move right in there - may I ?) It belonged to my grandmother, then my aunt , and now it's at my house, but I will need to paint it. I almost didn't recognize it, cuz ours is dingy tan. I just love red too. Another project - yippee!!
Isn't life glorious?
Jan
I get to move in First!!
Don't ya just love it when gardeners get into a row!
:-)
Although that thing actually looks bigger than my house!
Have I mentioned that I took out the biggest guy in 8th grade? Granted that was a few years ago, but I may still have it in me. Hee-Hee
Be afraid, Be VERY afraid.
::)))
Jan
hehehehe
I can just see you doing the slap with a garden glove, Jan! lol
My girls are full of P & V. So glad Molly is enjoying the summer. I know you and Hank don't spoil her at all.
Thanks, Candyce! She is more photogenic than I am! LOL
Willie and Jan - You can both move in! There are two parts to Cuppatea. There is the playhouse part for me, and then there's the jumbled, practical half that houses the garden "machinery" like the tiller, spreader, mowers, etc.. It's not really very big - 12 x 16, and my half is 12 x 8, except when I encroach on the "other half"... LOL
When I get my own computer back (don't get me started on the Geek Squad!!) I'll post an inside view of the playhouse part.
Jan - We bought 2 of the antique "motel" chairs at a church auction in Gilsum, NH several years ago. One went to lawn chair heaven, but this one is my favorite chair in the world. A coat of paint spiffs them right up!! Very comfy and often used!!
Hi everyone - just caught up with THIS part of the NE G forum...Bev, I also LOVE dragonflies! You know, they are (related to) faerie folk? I am building a faerie house, garden and tree-house at the base of one of the trees along our drive. I will try to take picture(s) as it goes. Hello everyone :-))
Hi Morrigan! Is that your real name? (don't need to answer that if you don't feel comfortable) I will add you to the list. Eleanor
Auctions can be so much fun, but you (read I ) really have to pay attention cuz things can fly by before you realize they were what you wanted. My folks had an auction once and I helped them clean out the attic. Mom was wanting to throw out everything. ( then what isthe point of an auction, if you throw out everything) For eg. old games in boxes - missing some pieces . I told her she would be surprised at what people buy. Those 3 games sold as a set brought $50.00 Yes, she was amazed.
I'll take the playhouse side, please. Once this heat wave is over I'll start working on the chair. Then there could be a pair on the porch. (sigh)
Jan: No problem with that!! I like tinkering with and using the machinery.
I've been caught asleep with a carburetor in one hand and a screwdriver in the other
:-
Nice image, Willie! You'd never find a lazy person with both hands full of tools! LOL
I feel like the NE Forum scrooge...lol.
Welcome to all of the, um, "new" people. I haven't read this thread, or the one with 900+ posts since there was a cumulative DG name = real name...that was months ago!
So, again, welcome to everyone who is...lol...new.
This needed to get bumped up.
Part 1 was loading SO slow!
Thanks Nancy - I'm Victor. ^_^
Victor????
Are you sure???
:oP
I'm Eleanor, remember me!!! Thanks for bringing this thread back up - duh, I didn't think of doing that and i was so annoyed every time I had to scroll through that empty space I created. Eleanor
Hi Eleanor! How are you doing, and how is Colin? Is he on DG yet? LOL
Hi Louise! I'm doing OK. I spend as much free time as I can out in the garden, so that's even less time here. Colin is doing really great. He made a mother's day present for his Auntie Jenn (Zenn) in his speech group at school. No j's or l's in his speech but they will come. We are so excited with the progress he has made in the last few months. Thanks for asking. Eleanor
p.s. Colin isn't on DG yet, but I'll have to get him a subscription in the near future - he has planted marigolds and peas. And now he carries an old view master around and uses it for his camera. He tells everything to say cheese and then clicks the lever.
That's so cute!!!! Sounds like things are going well there. I'm especially happy to hear that things sound good for Colin. Spending time in the actual garden trumps time in the virtual garden (DG) here. I'm getting ready to go out soon after some morning coffee.
