Bill, they won't settle for a picture of a Big cat? that's pretty silly that it has to be a video. I have a camera with me quite often, but a decent video camera only rarely.

Congrats on the 8 years Thom! And also for another great laugh for the day! Ohhh those strange cats! How long did it take to get the smell off of yourself?

Is there any sort of category, forum or whatever around daves where we can nominate a post for best or favorite post? If there is, I would really like to nominate poor Kell's skunk story (this post is good too, but that was hilarious). I think that there should be some sort of prize for any post that can cause people to spill/spew their lunches on their computers! I guess that I should post this over on that thread.
Thom, you could make your own post on your strange cat story!!

Thanks for pointing us that way RC!

pixie-Not sure of the color of the flower...this is something else I do, that most people might cringe at...this is specific to the rex begonias, I snip the flowers off...lol.

I had my eye on the 'Dragons Eye' pine for about 4-5 years, a local garden center has a mature one growing in their display garden, and I love it! Didn't really, or should say haven't really, think about it at all, until Victor posted the pic of his recently. This particular garden center had 4 different sizes. I bought the smallest...and cheapest...at 6-12" of growth per year, I can handle the smaller size. Victor did your 'Dragons Eye' grow quickly, or take forever? Not sure if it's "new" to your garden, or if you have had it, and it's established or not.

Not too slowly, Thom. I think this is the third year. Got it from Fairweather so it was not a twig when I planted it, but it was not big.

My 'native' rose about to explode. Have tons of blooms on this.

Noiobe finally blooming. It's much darker than this shows. This one was huge - about seven inches across.

You know...I'm gonna have to stop looking at this thread...lol.

Victor-I really like 'Pure Poetry.'

and the search is on...lol.

Very nice Victor.
I swear my hibiscus and Rose of Sharon grew 2 inches since yesterday. I know they like heat and humidity. I was still looking for new growth on the smaller hibiscus, and it was barely there, and today it's 2 inches high. I'm sure the lupines don't appreciate this heat.

Victor love Pure Poetry too, also Silver Moon!

Victor, I agree with Thom about 'Pure Poetry'

Thom, best AA story I ever heard. Congrats and I assume you no longer stink.

Cold and rainy, but I did wander about to see what was trying to bloom. Mostly iris. Patti

Beautiful irises today Patti. I always just love the deep reds/browns the most. And I have the hardest time finding them since I never know the names :-p I don't like buying them buy description anymore since so quite often they turn out being reddish purple instead of dark red.

it's been raining for a couple of weeks now and it has beaten many blooms to death. But there was a sun break later in the evening two days ago and this is all that I could find going on. However, wont be more than a week or so and most of my dogwoods will be in full bloom!

So, given the break for sun I went down to the river to see if by chance a few of my chatterbox orchids higher up on the bank might be in bloom, however I think that most of them have drown and I hope only for the season!

submerged horsetail, unfortunately that's probably the only plant that will have survive being under water for 8 months this year. With my luck it will probably be hardier and happier once the water goes down.

Now this was a complete surprise to me. I was out in this area a couple of days ago and nothing was going on. Low and behold, my hardy fuschia is almost a month Ahead of schedule! Now I really want the rain to stop, it's not usually raining when it blooms!

Actually, come to think of it. I have two of these fuschias and the other one is still working on getting it's leaves to full size. go figure.

Pixie, It has been a light bloomer so far. Third year for it and it has formed a nice mound, but I will withhold judgement until I see if it finally puts out some abundance. It may be not 'Splish Splash' but rather, 'Wishy Washy" I will let you know. Patti

not at all plant related, but this dog was too cute. He came with one of the crews to work, animals aren't usually allowed but who could resist.
