Spring Blooms - Part 12
No keeping score, Bill.
Wow, everyones gardens have really woken up. Great shots. I am going to make a list of the some that I love. I hope I get blooms from my 4th of July too. Wonderful shot.
Here is a picture of a free rescue from the Agway in Brattleboro given to me in Nov of 2005 as it was being thrown out as beyond hope as a totally dried up rhizome. It is 'Tiger Honey'. I love it. I had not marked it and had totally forgotten about it. I planted it in June of 2006 after nursing it along for the winter in the greenhouse. I am a proud mom. Patti
Congrats Mom!!
Beautiful blooms, Pixie and Redchic!
Maria - I whacked my spirea way back again this year and they are filling out very nicely. I love spirea, but you do have to keep them in line, don't you? Yours is a pretty one!
Candyce - lovely Siberian Iris........your green thumb is showing!! LOL
Bill and Debilu..... pretty, pretty, pretty!
Congrats on your rescue, Patti. Nice payoff!
Victor - nice shots.......that basket has nice colors together!
Jo Anne - nice deck!
it is a tough world - they should keep score - my thoughts
Plenty of time for that! They'll be 'keeping score' the rest of their lives.
Sorry I more or less went into sick bay part time at least for the past few days. I see and I appreciate comments in line with our Spirea chat.
For someone who ask...........those single peonies came from Wayside a great many years ago in a four for package. They gave up on me with the catalog. I suspect they still feature some rather unique items like the single peonies.
Feeling a lot better now. Finished potting up the patio pots and offered a few choice words in behalf of the deer that worked over my matters today. I have to get some fence if I am to have much this year. Dern they are cleaning my clock.
Glad to hear you're feeling better, Dwaine. I sympathize with the deer.
Glad you're on the mend, Dwaine!
Ever eat pulled venison bar-b-que. No? Would you like to? :)

Oh. but I have!!
I know where there is a 100 gallon cast iron kettle on tri-leg stand. Boy would that make a slow cook bar-b-que. Deboned rumps, shoulders and loins. Twenty hours and a case of suds. Cold pack the left overs.
Donniebrook, They gave me several and one more is still in a bed in the greenhouse, but no tag. I hope it blooms. I think the other was beyond saving.
Dogpipe (I really know it is Docgrip, but I seem to keep typing Dogpipe) sorry about the deer. Love venison and rabbit. Those are the ones that are eating through the deer fence to eat my lilies. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Dogs are useless at night. If we leave them out they bark to get in and annoy the world and seem to miss all the bunnies.
Here is a gift TBI from Boojum in 2006 which is blooming for me for the first time. 'Kashmir White' It was hybridized by Sir Michael Foster and introduced after his death (1907) in 1912. Patti
Candyce it looks like it might be an Intermediate Bearded Iris. Not this one but the same style....

those are globemaster i think
Great pictures all. Glad that you're better Dwaine.
Too much time at work and not enough time at play means no pictures for today :-(
I'll enjoy everyone elses!
Pixie ~ thanks for the Iris ID. You are right. It does look like an Intermediate Iris. I am very grateful for that ID.
Patti ~ save some of those Iris for me, OK. We'd like a few to 'fill in' a bit. I love the cottage photos, too.
Allison ~ oh my goodness! What a great bunch of photos! No wonder you are tired!
LOL Candyce...I did NOT I.D. it for you just told you what i thought it might be for a species....I'Ding is another whole story...too many that color for me to even guess. The experts over in the Iris forum probably could though. They did a few for me and they are great!!
think i am going to put this one up in the id forum... just want to know if it's a weed from the seed starting mix... or something worth keeping

Nice shots Allison and Patti. I have to get a few of those giant allium.
I will take a shot of the leaves later Victor... they are HUGE compared to the others i have... I double checked it is globemaster

At least you have given me a place to begin, Celeste, and that's much more than I had yesterday!!
No need to stake them, Allison?
I never have and it's been blooming there for 2 years now... if i remember right last year they flopped once the flower was fading.... I was ok with that... they lasted long enough for me... and if the sun was on them all day I am almost sure they wouldn't lean towards it... but that spot only gets sun in the afternoon... you can see the lilys are leaning too... it's a border line spot for those plants
