just trying to help. and figured you would have it - what exactly is it you don't - probably grass since you only have a 1/2 acre.
here's another I have and just picked up two more of that is ground cover. this is low growing - sedum sieboldil "nana". I think i have seen this in your posts. however there is a dwarf version and normal version. nice blue/green foliage with stunning pink flowers in fall.
i have the dwaft and these last two will go between two autumn joy with a varigated variety in the middle. Not keen on the var. one flowers are not much to look at, however this set up might help with the different heights and foliage colors.
Today's Weather in Your Garden - 21
Just to follow up, Bill - Rozanne starting blooming in may garden about a week or ten days ago. It will continue until frost - no exaggeration.
Yes - love sieboldiana. I really would like something with big fat leaves - almost hosta-like, but that will take full sun.
nice - i'm glad it wasn't just the matching blue clogs. I almost thought i heard a lisp when he answered:)
hosta sagea takes sun and it is big check it out. I posted some pics on the hosta page of my one year old. the one at the hosta nursery i go to is in full sun and is a eye catcher.
I have a lot of hosta already though. Would like something different.
I hope they keep you nice and warm, Victor! At least someone will get some benefit from it all! This method makes clear-cutting look like a dream green process!
Someone sent me an email about using plain old Listerine in a spray bottle to keep mosquitos away. You spray chairs and window and door frames, etc.. So, I bought a generic version of Listerine and tried it. I think it really has helped. You might want to google "Listerine for Mosquitos" to see if there are any "don'ts" in using it. I haven't sprayed any right on me, but I just might tomorrow when I hit the garden again. The email said it lasts a few days once you spray an area........I figured it's worth a try for very little money........Just thought I'd pass that along in case someone else wants to gargle while they garden! LOL
It's another example of trying to solve a problem and creating more. Sawdust is in short supply now. If the pellet price is real high again like two years ago, I just won't use it.
I've heard that but also heard it doesn't work. But the skeeters end up with great breath...
Hey, as long as I don't have to deal with mosquito breath, I'm good!! LOL
Looks nice Victor!
I'd hate to have your back ache in the morning! It is beautiful, though.
Thanks - I'm not doing it. I'm watching.
Smart man.
Love the stone wall....it's cool to watch them build it too, I was fascinated when the mason built my fieldstone fireplace. It truely is an art!
Yes it is. I love stone.
Lookin' good, Victor! Love the stone wall - be aware that the snakes will love it too! At my 50th surprise party, lots of people were sitting and eating dinner on our stone wall, and one guy stood up and had been sitting on a small snake. Eek!! We now make it a habit of tapping the wall all around before people sit on it at parties. That let's 'em know to stay hidden. LOL
I've never seen one yet. I like snakes!
I'm sure they like you too! LOL I don't mind the "Sammie's" we have here, but I don't like it when any of them surprise me. Because we have a number of stone walls, we have some permanent residents, but they go back inside when they know we're around.
Can't you hire really small people to do that??
Nope, Union blacklisted me, ever since a Crow flew off with the last tree trimmer... ☺
The patio is looking terrific, Victor, and I love the area where you may put pots.
Thanks, Pirl.
Getting long. Bring your weather info here:
