She's about to ....

(Becky) Colmesneil, TX(Zone 8b)

Peg... I'm gonna hug and kiss you for thinking I LOOK like a hottie...LOL Need to have the bruggie title in the title don't we? I like to watch storm chasers too.. but I think I'll leave the chasing to them and you...hehe

Glad you are getting rain.. abbbisgranma... we have such sandy soil that rain doesn't saturate and last long here.. dries right back up... but it's easy digging..

where's Kim and anjl???

(Pegi) Norwalk, CA(Zone 10b)

Am I in trouble with my brug already? The bottom leaves on the plant have turned yellow and fallen off. I'm thinking maybe I'm not good at this. The 3 babies seem to be all right. I guess I'm not patient enough, I want to see them grow.

Midwest City, OK(Zone 7b)

Kim, that hottie, was here last night. Anjl is working on her brug walk, probably or planning something for her first anniversary. At at least I hope.

Audrey, how's the dataras? Did they tranplant well? We may go start wanting dataras, too!!

Abbisgranma, so glad the rain came your way. Florida has been very dry according to my friends there around Kissamee. (sp?) I usually don't spell that one right.

I was hoping we would hear from AuntB with good news about the GH. Who knows? She may have met people so nice, she just can't get away. Or, if they said no, well, you alway need to ask. Asking never hurt no one.

Beck, you are very pretty, even with your tongue out!

Got to go, work is wanting overtime. Don't these people understand I have gardening to do??? LOL, when I bring homegrown tomatoes in, my coworkers go nuts. That is a whole other story for another night.

Have a good weekend everyone. I may not be back until Monday, but don't worry about me, comprende? lov ya, Peg

Midwest City, OK(Zone 7b)

Samigal, that's probably just tranplant shock. Keep it watered and just wait. I have read many threads that said a plant may lose all of its leaves after transplant, but willl always come back from the roots. I think the new owners go through more stress than the plants . :)) Hang in there, okay? Peg

My cordryline (sp) that got run over and then the storm broke it off, that thing is coming back on its own and looking good. I stressed more than it did, evidently. LOL. Now, really, nite all. I just wanted to give some support, Sami.....

(Audrey) Dyersburg, TN(Zone 7a)

My dats are kinda wilted, but the ground was hard where they were, I didn't get enough root. BUT, it's raining here!!!!^_^, and I watered them earlier tonight, I think they'll make it, if they don't, she has plenty more!
Audrey

(Pegi) Norwalk, CA(Zone 10b)

Thanks Peg, I'll just keep my eye on her and keep her watered. I was getting stressed out about it, but will try not to panic yet. Sometimes I think I go overboard on the TLC.

I'm back! LOL!

been working on the arbor all week. I had to move my brug babies to the front yard... I lost one of them "shirleys peach" I think because they were getting too much afternoon sun in this horrible heat wave :o( so I'm not willing to take anymore chances with the others! LOL!
Here they are in their new...temporary home until the walkway is done and the arbor is up....at least they will get some shade in the afternoon.

Thumbnail by 1AnjL
(Mary) Poway, CA(Zone 10a)

Ahhhh, but when he does complete it, it will be perfect! Looking good, and it looks like he's got a good start on it.

I'm not a newbie, but I'm a hottie, alright ..... about every hour or so, when I have a hot flash. LOL That's going to be my only claim to hotness unless I shell out 50 thousand for a face lift and total body lift. NOT!

(AnjL) Fremont, CA(Zone 9b)

roflmao! me too... and that tends to happen at a young age in my family :o( poor DH just got married and then I became a sweaty Dr Jekyl/Mrs.Hyde!

(Kim) Philadelphi, PA(Zone 6a)

How da sizzlin sisters be??? That arbor is looking good! Brug buds look like tiny okra : ) And remember girls its not a hot flash its a power surge ; }

(AnjL) Fremont, CA(Zone 9b)

tee hee...why dont I feel energetic or powerful then? lol!

(Kim) Philadelphi, PA(Zone 6a)

(Audrey) Dyersburg, TN(Zone 7a)

Maybe your batteries are in backwards!

(AnjL) Fremont, CA(Zone 9b)

roflmao! I think they are definitely in backwards! LOL!

(Becky) Colmesneil, TX(Zone 8b)

Clem.. is it that "thing" kinda leaning to the left... at the very top of the pic? And are those little leaves starting at the joint of the bigger leaves and the stalk? anyway.. TY for the pic.. helps me to hopefullt know what I am supposed to be looking for..

anjl.. that arbor is going to be fantastic.. and be proud he is building it right for you... even though I would be wanting it yesterday myself..lol My brugs kinda got scorched on a couple leaves, so I guess they are not ready for as much sun as I was giving them. Moved them prompty! Glad you are back!

Kim.. I am with anjl..LOL.. what power,or energy..... glad you are back too!

Where's auntB??? Wouldn't it be nice if she is tearing that greenhouse down right now??LOL and that she got it for FREE????

Nite.. girlies!

(Kim) Philadelphi, PA(Zone 6a)

Nitey nite!!

(AnjL) Fremont, CA(Zone 9b)

tee hee... I was just out in the workshop teasing DH that when the big one comes... that arbor will be the only thing left standing! LOL! and I'll be right there under it! the beams on this thing are HUGE! he is using a 4x4 on each beam, with a 'decorative' 2x6 on each side of it...so really the beams are 8x6!! I'll definitely be hangin out under those beams when the ground starts shaking! LOL!

Nassau County, NY(Zone 7a)

Good morning all! Nice looking arbor your dh is building!
Ok here is another one from this morning! And hottie newbie, sounds cute alright!

She has grown since yesterday, still tiny though. I saw more that are forming but If I take a pic, you'll never see them, too little!

(Becky) Colmesneil, TX(Zone 8b)

Oh Clem... that is soo sweet!!! She looks sooo healthy too! Do you feed the recipe?? and what type light do you have her in?? Mine are a lot more leggy and not near as green....but i have transplanted them 2x since I received them.. I know that hasn't helped.

Nassau County, NY(Zone 7a)

Hi Beck, good morning! I really do not feed them the recipe, I just use bloom plus weekly. This one in particular is in part sun, part shade. I am going to move her though to full sun today. She is looking lovely! Clemen

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Pleeze keep the info coming and the pictures. I'm studing!!

Neat having an arbor. Always wanted one but never could talk hubby into building one. Don't think I can talk son into it now. Oh well...such is life.

I persoanally thought it was our own private vacation in the tropics!

(Audrey) Dyersburg, TN(Zone 7a)

Please tell this humble newby, what is the reciepe?

Nassau County, NY(Zone 7a)

Doe go to the brug forum and you'll see a thread on it there! Clemen

Midwest City, OK(Zone 7b)

Hey hotties, one tired hotty here.

Need your help soon. Some of the hosta people are going to get lists of all the DG members in the flood areas. When this is set up, we need volunteers to d-mail each member, asking if they are okay and if they need any help. If they do not check their d-mail in a certain timeframe, then it will be regularly e-mailed to them through the system.

Hopefully, we will also be able to get something set up to establish a needs help category, so we can see what we can do. All we may be able to offer is support, but I bet that will be appreciated. Down the road, we may be able to offer plants, seeds, etc.

Anyway, think about it and I will let you know as soon as it gets set up and is ready to go.

Lov ya, Peg

Midwest City, OK(Zone 7b)

Okay, I'm tired. One individual will not contact all of them, we will divide them up between the volunteers and then work like that. Sorry if I was not clear. Peg

Midwest City, OK(Zone 7b)

Okay Marilyn in Houston is quick. She has it set up under the Weather forum. I took ABCD for my list. Peg

NE, KS(Zone 5b)

I can get some stuff together for the people who've lost.. a flood is something I've lgone through, I was only about 3 or 4, but I remember evacuating and being handed from person to person across a creek, water up to their knees.... It was raining pretty hard and I was happy to end up in my Dad's arms. I'll go over there later and see about it.
Okay, you guys! Tee hee You're really putting the pressure on me! lol I DIDN'T make it over there yesterday.. Left work early and ended up on the other side of town, with the price of gas, I'll stop by when I'm going that direction (definately next week.... now I want to go--NOW). May try to find them on line and call.. (I'm NOT chickening out, you can call me a lot of things ;P but chicken ain't one of em) I'll dumpster dive if the prize is right! lol Anyway, my weekend goal IS to work on brugs and hibiscus, and I'm doing it, started yesterday afternoon.....I need to get back out there, I came in for a bite to eat. My big brugs are trying to whoop me today, but I am determined to get some organization around here... Haven't touched a hib, yet.. (I missed some of this thread from yesterday, can't wait to collapse tonight and catch up)... -Hot in many ways, B.
