Emma, would love to have some morning glories. Please see my list to see if there is anything I can bring for you. I really do love those beautiful climbers and I am getting DH to make me some places ready for them to start their climb. I just set a pole in the ground and put wire on it for them to run up and it works great.
Any extras that need homes will gladly be given homes here. Oink!!
Charlene
Ok, so far Morning Glories going to:
eyesoftexas
maggidew
Mibus2 [I will bring you LOTS]
. . . and of course,
Heavinscent
Did I miss anyone?
I'll bring bunches more so there will be plenty for anyone else who wants them.
Hey, we may even talk cocoa_lulu to give some a try. She can tuck a couple away in a corner somewhere *-*
Hi Caren . . .
Fancy meeting you here . . .
I will be sure to bring you some cool I. nils, and yes that is the list of some that I had growing together last year.
I still don't have all of my RARES planted yet for the year, but I'm working on them. Just wait until you see them.
I'm looking forward to meeting you - as well as everyone else.
See you there.
Here is my first *cross* to bloom for the year.
It is Gray Haze x Youjiro Yaguruma that doesn't have the Youjiro leaves. The color is a Deep Gray-Mauve which is not a common color for one of the Youjiros.
Emma
Hi Charlene . . .
Sure Thing!
I will bring you LOTS as well.
Also, I will give you some great tips on how to make some very inexpensive, yet sturdy trellises that also works fantastic.
Emma
Very purdy!
Thanks Caren,
Very different isn't it!
Emma
oh that is very pretty!!!!
who ever thought I would move to Texas and want morning glories
back in Illinois they are considered a weed and were always cut down by farmers even though I always liked the blooms on them :))
Wow Emma, I am anxious to meet you and learn from you. Hmm new ideas for trellis's. I like that for sure.
I do hope I can bring something for you. Check my list please.
Thank you so much,
Charlene
Love photos, Emma, got more?
"eyes"
i want some morning glories too, emma. thanks.
I told you when Emma post her things folks would go nuts.
Hey MamaJ, where you been----sleeping ? Knew you would come out when the goodies got posted.
It is getting close and excited to meet and greet you folks. This no rain has me working over time here. Wish it would rain a bit before next weekend.
D
Mibus2, are you ever in for a treat.
You will be absolutely amazed at the beauty of these MGs.
Thanks 'eyes'.
Oh yes, I have HUNDREDS of MG photos, but no way could I post them all - besides I would be hoging this Thread *-*
I still don't have very many entered yet in the PlantFiles
but here are a few from the PlantFiles
http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/imagesbyuser.php?user=EmmaGrace
'Someday' I will have a web page so I can post my photos
Here is a Thread were you can see several of my MGs grown by others,
http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/852342/
including one that is an unbelievable & unusual *Cross* that I didn't do on purpose - but those are the 'fun surprises'.
I have never seen one like it before.

Charlene, Yes, I will have a look at your list. Right now I'm heading back outside to put more plants together. And, I have LOTS of great tips for growing MGs that I can share with you. Heck this is as much fun as 'planting' the plants. I have SO many plants that I have been dragging in and out for years storing them over the winter [Finally got a small Greenhouse], and if I haven't planted them by now, guess they need a better home.
I'm even posting some on the Plant ID Forum because of lost tags, or never knew in the first place, so I will bring all of these and maybe someone will see something they want. With or without an ID.
It is looking like I may end up with a looooong list. Hopefully I will be able to post the majority of everything by tomorrow.
mamajack, got you down for Morning Glories.
Emma
Here is one of my many Crosses that I created. I grew this one for the first time last year.
It is a Feathered Hige MG 'Jamie Lynn Hige'
This one produces Double and Triple Blooms
Hey David. . .
Thanks!
Jerry tried to call you earlier to see if you need him to come over to help you set up your new Camera. I'll tell him you are at home now and have him call you again.
HEY EVERYONE . . .
DAVID HAS A NEW CAMERA!
Now he can post some of his awesome beauties.
Emma
Emma. that is the most beautiful MG I have ever seen!! You go, girl!!
"eyes"
OMG that one is out of this world
Emma you and I are gonna have to talk about web pages so we can get all those wonderful MG's up someplace
take a look here go in and click on the picture journal links...
http://www.ladies-of-the-heart.org/Phyllis/
and speaking of cameras anyone cares to bring theirs that would be great we want to get pictures through out the RU
Emma, Those MGs are awsome. I will gladly take some with no names, surprises are fun. I have a few Jap. MGs that I got from a co-op here on DG several years ago. It was a good thing I knew how to plant MGs because the packets were written in Japanese. Do you have any with vareigated leaves? If not, I will bring you a couple of starts. Look over my list and see if there is anything you would like. It's close to the top of the trades 06/28/08 thread. Pam
Emma, will you put aside one for me in case I do make it? Anything with stripes in purple or even blue. My friend desperately wants one has been searching for one all spring. Thanks!
Emma ....can I have a bunch of your different morning glories too? I only have 35 acres to play with here. I'm trying to grow vines and all kinds of things that look tropical. So if you have anything else like canna's, bananas, or Elephant ears I'd be ever so interested in those things too.
Caren, your not the only OINK OINK here. I want some of EVERYTHING ...You and Emma have. I know ya'll both have tons of beautiful things to grow around my place.
I'll try to bring some things ya'll don't have but it will be difficult to come up with those plants.
7 Days and counting till our GTG or East Texas Round UP!
Yipppee, ki, i, get along lil' Flower Girl and Boy.
Happy Gardening, Marian
I'll try to remember to bring my own chair! For some reason I don't see us sitting for any length of time. Too busy running around and looking to see what all everyone brought with them. LOL
Emma.. I am NOT a vine person..lol but if I could get a lil one of the jamie lynn hige.. or any of the doubles..I might be hooked.. Please look at my trade list on the other thread!! TY
lovelyiris.. you are just like me..lol I am soo excited to meet everyone!!
Becky
Thank you 'eyes'. . .
My 'Jamie Lynn' Hige was also one of my favorites for last year.
I will be sure to bring you some of my Hige Plants and with luck maybe you will get one of these beauties.
I also have some seeds that I can bring you as well.
Milbus2 . . .
Thank you very much . . .
I will also bring you some of my Hige Plants as well as seeds too
Your web site is very nice.
At least I have a start, but this was just for play.
http://www.emmagrace.us/
No way can I work with a webpage until the winter months. I run my silly legs off every year taking care of all of my MGs. I usually grow around 1000 vines every year.
Oh, and I don't go anywhere without my camera, so count me in.
catlady . . .
Thank you too, catlady.
Got you down for MGs too. Yes, I do grow many MGs with Variegated leaves.
Do you know the name of yours with Variegation/or can you describe them?
Sweezel . . .
These are all from MIXES, however, I will bring some that should be some of the Purple or Blue Shibori and I have plenty of seeds that I can also bring.
lovelyiris . . .
Got you down for bunches of MGs.
BTW: I owe you an email and will do that tomorrow so I can send you the photos.
I also do have Cannas and I have been digging up some of them and putting them all in one area 'just for you'. . .lol
And, I have TONS of EEs. Two different cultivars. One has more of a pattern on the ear than the other. Both get GIGANTIC! So I will have plenty to share.
beck5711 , , ,
Oh WONDERFUL, I'll bring you some Higes too and a couple of other types to be SURE we get you good and 'hooked' on MGs *-*
Anyone that I will be giving seeds to don't be afraid of them....lol
I will be emailing you some very detailed germination instructions. This same method also works great on many other types of seeds as well.
Way too Easy!
Emma
Emma, I hate to be a pig, but if you have tons of EEs could I get a couple of each cultivar? Looking forward to the detailed germination instructions. Pam
Hi catlady,
Sure, you can have bunches if you like. I'll probably pot the EEs up several to a pot.
d-mail me your email and I'll send you germination instructions today. One is a small word doc.
Emma
Emma.. you are a wonderfully SWEET ENABLER... lol Ty for the MG's... and I assure you it doesn't take much to addict me to flowers..lol as I love them all...Do you think you could save me a few of the EE's also?? I have never grown them either, but I got 3 at the Central RU.. and I just LOVE them!! Please look at my list... I am a newbie but maybe there will be something that interests you..TY
Becky
Emma put me down for some MG's if any are left.
Lynnea... I would rather have a puppy after my plants..lol I had an armadillo get in mine before the Central RU.. and of course.. my 2 dogs only made it worse... ohh it was a mess!!..lol
Hi Becky . . .
No problem - I'll be happy to bring your both cultivars of my EEs
TARogers5 . . .
Still have plenty of MGs. I'm more than happy to share many with you too
Emma
LOL Lynea.. at least "my" armadillo .. make that a whole family...hehe are very nice in that they don't uproot the plants.. but dang near close!!! I have told my DH that he better hurry and get well.. cause something has to be done about them... I found out he has known about them for a long time..been under one of his sheds... They have holes everywhere!!.. not just in my flowerbeds!! They gotta go!!
But now a puppy??? awww how can you stay mad when they look at you with those big ol eyes.... hmmm??? Yeah.. cake always helps..lol H B'day to your neice!!
Cocoa the start time is 9am...but I know I am going to be there sooner then that.
I have cardboard signs made with everyones name on them ( hoping I didn't' miss anyone) so they can be put up that way everyone knows that is where your trades go.
Emma,
I have so far killed two black EE's I wonder if the third would be the charm? I have some great EE's that I dug from the ditches in Vidor and they do fine, but the harder to get one just flubs on me. Any EE's that grow in zone 8 would be appreciated. BTW, my name is not on the promised MG list. I know you mentioned it earlier, but just don't want to get forgotten. I have 54 acres to fill and that trumps 35 LOL. Of course Dave has more than both of us put together so watch out cuz, he is always lurking! LOL
Charlene
Emma, What kind of EE's do you have? I didn't see where you listed them?? Am I blind??
Phyllis, you are on top of your game as usual. What a great job you are doing here for this RU.
Thank you for your hard work.
Charlene
I added a few things to my list.
Charlene . . . .
aaaaah, but I have my very own secret list going....lol
Seriously, I need to double check it and will update that tonight to be sure I haven't left anyone off.
I do have you down for LOTS of MGs, and I'll add you for EEs too. I don't think you could kill my EEs if you stomped on them *-*
Caren . . .
No, you're not blind, I mentioned my EEs 'somewhere' up there.
I don't know the true name for them. Guess I should post them on the Plant ID.
One cultivar I have had for years and years from my mother that had them for years and years. So, I would say this one is an old cultivar. Sometimes these will throw plants that are Bi-Colored Green - but not that often. They are really neat when they do this!
The other EE I have has some cool patterns in the leaves.
I would post a photo, but my photos are not organized yet and are on many DVDs.
So, I'll take photos and put on Plant ID with a link to them.
BOTH GET HUMONGOUS.
Really Huge Ears!
I haven't put my list up yet. I was going to today, but it was either that or pot up more plants.
I'm going to try to list what I have put together so far tonight
Plus, I have some that I am not going to dig up unless someone wants them.
I will be listing these as well.
Emma
I would love to give both your EE a try if you dont mind. Is there anything I can bring for you?
I will be bring a few extra things as I find them.
Two crown of thorns starts.
Would anyone like some slips of sweet potatoes? There is still plenty of time to plant them and get a great harvest. I have the following varieties available:
Georgia Jet
Centennial (these perform the best for me)
Nancy Hall
Beauregard
They are super easy to root and grow fast. Let me know if you want some, I have plenty!
We're having internet connection problems here but I have written out the list so far and will hope for better (slow) dialup later this week :~( Darn, I sure wish we had DSL or something out here in the sticks!
Maggi
