East Texas Roundup - Trade Lists
Will bring something, let me think on it. And catlady, can I have some of your Byzantine Glads?
antique are you the one that comes over and works at a camp down the road (FM2661)from me in the summer?????
Rose, I have your names on some Byzs. Pam
Yup Mibus2 , I work at the camp. 4-6 weeks past summers. Cut back to week one and week 11 this summer. Likely only 1 week next summer and will fill in if and when needed.
Thanks catlady for the bulbs. Love 'em! And you and my DH will get along famously as he's a cat freak. He even moves like a big cat, strong and graceful.
I'm bringing a handful of Canna x iridiflora “Ehemanii” and cuttings of virbunium "snowball".
For AnnieJo , some cuttings of the native gardenia. You still out there? Those I rooted for you a while back didn't make it.
A door prize will be very young succulents in a SFA horticulture student's bowl type container art project.
Asters, asters, asters!!! Yeah, I wondered who the crook was that got 'em! LOL
Thanks l'il sis, I am glad you found them for me. I really love those beauties.
I am getting ahead of the game this time with the trades I am receiving. I have pots ready to put the plants in. I am ready with the perfect mix of fertilizer and water crystals and good soil mix (my own special mixture). John has a bed set up in a semi- almost-shaded (there is no real shade here) area to put the pots in where I can water them all at once from the bottom, then drain any excess off as needed.
John is making me a shady place to work while I get the plants all potted up and ready for their home until autumn when they will get planted out or go into the hoop house. Ain't he a keeper? May was 35 years of pure goodness! At our age now, I am really beginning to realize and appreciate that goodness.
You won't believe what I have gotten done since the RU. We were not so lucky with the rain. We just got one part of one day of it. The days of being overcast though made for good outdoor working without the boiling sun bearing down on ya!
Charlene
LOL... was going to plant them today.. and since I don't have a clue as to what most of them are I looked at the label.. said purple fall asters.... charlene... LOL I said opps!!! But I have been watering them and they look real good. That superthrive is the trick!!
If you think about it.. bring me those crystals I forgot!!
I still haven't called you... still waiting on me??lol
AND... where is Mama???? She hasn't dmailed me or nothin'...
Going to bed.. finally...lol this ol' nightowl is pooped tonight..NITE everyone!!
Hey everyone...Sorry I haven't been posting lately. I've had to work double shifts since the 11th at the nursing center.
Coco_lulu could I get lambsear, comfry, verbena ridgida, blue spike speedwell, white gaura, & dwarf goldenrod?
Darkmoondreamer, I'd love to get cuttings of R.O.S., gardenia, & pink shrimp.
Please check out my trade list.
Dollie
Cannagirl, I've got you down. Do you happen to have a pink canna without burgundy foliage? With your name, I thought you'd be the one to ask.lol
I updated my list to include, rootbeer for Pbtx and EE's for Lorrian.
Here's my list http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/p.php?pid=5084740 please let me know if I've forgotten anyone or anything :0)
Hey Cocoa.....hehehehe What about IT?...hahaha I just had to ask ya know since ya forgot IT the last time...*giggles and runs outside to safety*
Oh my gosh, I totally forgot to tell you at "it". I thought I brought inside to pot it up for the RU. Well I went looking for "it" and found that I had left it out in full sun! It all died! No it for me or anyone else this year, rofl. I still have seed so I'm going to direct sow them next year.
I'm lost Cocoa.....what is "it"?
"eyes"
Oh I just remembered something I forgot to mention ...we might want to bring lawn chairs I don't know how much space there is for sitting on picnic tables.
so IF you have room toss in a chair I am going to try and remember to bring the ones we have.
Cocoa you killed "IT" oh no poor IT LOL
I'm broken hearted over "it". I so looked forward to "it". You killed "it"? How awful!! So sad!! We all wanted it, we all wondered about it and the more we thought about it the more we looked forward to it.
It is a sad day for the it's fans.
Charlene
Hey, Phyllis, I must be doing better than Cocoa. Remember all those tadpoles? I didn't kill them after all. ::beam::
Mibus2, I have about 6 folding metal chairs that I'll bring, maybe more. They aren't extremely comfortable, but still I'm sure they would be appreciated by those who forget to bring a chair.
I'll see if there's a way John can tie some folding chairs to the luggage rack....
"eyes"
I'll bring a couple of extra chairs.
Charlene
TARogers5...old fashioned iris if there are any left could I have some ...my goal was to recreate the iris garden my grandmother had but there are a few I am not able to find so an old fashioned one would be a good addition.
Dave folding metal ones will work fine I just figured we might need some chairs for those that want or need to sit and for eating in.
eyes ....honey if you don't have room other then to tie them to the luggage rack don't worry I don't' want anything to happen to them.
I doubt if I even sit down since I am sitting on a school bus most of the time.
and if others are bringing chairs too we should be okay ....besides I have a couple older blankets I was planning on bringing also if needed.
Phyllis
Hey... I forgot That I didn't get my IT, and Lynea never said a word... Phyllis.. I am glad you reminded me it, and that I didn't receive IT.. maybe next year, we can finally be able to bring it home..LOL AND.. I also forgot the old Iris that I was supposed to bring you at the Buffalo RU.. I'll try my best to remember IT this time...LOL
Becky
I forgot about the iris myself so I never missed it until now LOL
Thanks for posting the photos Emma. I have several of the cone flowers that have these green blooms. I do not know how to share since they have not made seeds yet and the several plants are rather large. Also not sure what the seeds will produce since some have the green blooms and a few purple on the same plant. If you want some you will have to tell me how to do it.
DD
Aren't those the Wizard Green DD? Colorblind DH would have a hard time with these, but I think they're nice. Don't need them, but they are unusual.
"eyes"
"Eyes", IT was an unidentified wild flower that Trois has going on his property and I received last Fall. The rest of you are too funny about it! I'm telling Trois, and putting the pressure on him to bring more seeds to the Arlington RU :0)
I've got some folding chairs.
DD, those coneflowers are too cool! I have a few things from you I'm going to post photos of on your other thread. One, I can't remember the name of and the other hitched a ride in the variegated grass:0)
Oh.........now that IS scary......unidentified wild flower? Invasive?
"eyes"
I don't believe so. I'll try to find the link where he was trying to get it identified. I think most people felt it was a annual native to the upper Midwest. Trois himself said it would die out if you mowed it too soon before reseeding. Of course if that doesn't work it can be left in a pot in full sun for the day....kills it for sure.rofl
Doesn't sound like "IT" would like me too much......I'm surprised it likes Texas at all.
"eyes"
Oh.. those green cone flowers are way cool.... wildflower huh???
David,
I would recommend to send seeds of Your GREEN CONEFLOWER to those who are interested, including me *-*.
Then we can all grow them out together to see if they stay 'True'.
Trois has some neat plants. I have been invited to his place in Santa Fe and will hopefully get to go visit him very soon since my daughter now lives in Santa Fe not far from him.
Emma
Trois is a real jewel, Emma.....here's wishing you one of the best gardening adventures ever.....watch out for them gators!
"eyes"
Thanks 'eyes', I am looking forward to meeting him -
and Thanks for the gator warning *-*

Emma, I would dearly love some of your MG's, and I aint't a bit particular.
"eyes"
Emma's MG are awsome to see. She grows so many and it is a site to behold. If you see them you WILL start growing them. Mine are just beginning to bloom. One is a tie dyed-purple/white beauty. I call it Emma's gift.
The green cone flowers just happened, not sure how. I will save seeds for those that want them.
DD
Emma, I still have a few spots on fences and up trees that could use MGs. I would like maybe 3 or 4? Check out my list up near the top of the page to see if anything tickles your fancy from me :~)
