East Texas Roundup - Trade Lists
Darkmoon- I have you down for a couple of Rosemary plants.
If any jam/jelly are left then that would be great.
DD
Headed to San Diego for a few daysto see DGD graduate from HS and son back from Iraq. Hope to check out the plants there too.
I have added to my trade list but am gonna post here also since we are all over on threads ...hahaha
I added Cannas they are solid green leaves and the flower is yellow with red/orange specks in the centers.
silly things were trying to crowd out one of the rose bushes both were planted before we moved in so I have dug them up and am moving them and have plenty to share some to any takers.
Mibus, I'll take a half dozen or so of that Canna. Dark Moon, either one of your jams jellies sounds scrumptous(sp)......well, very yummy!!
"eyes"
Eyes you got half a dozen then.... I was just looking at pictures and I THINK not positive but it might be Richard Wallace the flower pictures look the same.
Sounds good Mibus, was looking for Florence Vaugh, or gaiety........but that will work.
"eyes"
I have Gaiety, I can bring some for you Eyes.
Darkmoondreamer
I have several cases of quart jars. If I can't get to them to dig out (It's unbelievable how much stuff their under) by the time of the trade get together, I'll bring them to Frankston on one of my trips to my dentist and leave them at his office for you. I should have 5 to 10 cases. I've gone to the pint size in recent years.
Jameso
Thank you Heavenscent, and I'll bet your name describes you to a tee! Those are hubby's very favorites.
"eyes"
Heavenscent if you have any extra Gaiety cannas I could use a couple more. The two I got from you before got squirted with Eraser before DH knew they were there. Unfortunately for me they croaked shortly afterwards. But everything else is doing WONDERFUL... so if you have some extra starts of any more cannas I'll take them off your hands.
Thanks in advance, Marian
jameso God bless you! That would be terrific! Thanks so much :)
Eyes I have loads of Florance Vaughn, also have Wyoming.

I had no idea there were so many different cannas out there until I looked to day to see if I could find mine to tell ya the name.
orange, red, pink, yellow and combinations of them wow.
If I didn't have to leave grass for DH to mow (he thinks he needs to mow) I would cover the whole place with flowers LOL
Ted, okay.......guess I need to drive up to Kingston.
"eyes"
I hope that ya'll will bring some of your extra cannas to the round up and share with all of us.
I would love to have some that bloom red since I dont' have any. I would love some that bloom pink too. Ahhh, what the heck, I'd love to have a start of all of them. LOL
DdeTex did I ask you for a start of yours and your Hudrangeas, and Chameleon Plant? If I didn't and you have any left I'd love to have a start of each.
It looks like I'm going to be digging up the entire back yard and bringing it with me. LOL
Happy Gardening, Marian 13 Days and Counting.....
I will have a large box of Cannas to give away no trades needed...
Mostly The President and a few others thrown in. They will be un-named. I will be setting it down and stepping back.
Tar, may I please have some of your Florence Vaugn and your Wyoming?
Thank you,
Charlene
Hey Heavinscent I will be gently pushing others out of the way to get some of those Red President cannas and others. Beware of the little old grey headed lady using her walking cane and elbow to wiggle and waddle to the front of the line. I'll be kind enough to say excuse me to those I accidently step on their toes. I hope they don't notice I'm wearing baseball cleats with 2 in spikes. They usually work real well when you need to get to the front of the line. They work real good in the garden too. LOL
Happy Gardening, Marian
12 Days and Counting Down to our Round Up!
hahahaha Marian but what happens if someone accidentally sticks a foot out in front of you while you are headed that way catching your cane and a foot?????.......and who's to say there isn't more then one lil grey headed lady that is going to be there ....hehehehehe just had to tease ya
OR A BLONDE... Phyllis.. I know you are... but so am I.... hehe.. Marion.. I have grey too... but I cover it up
Just wanted to let ya'll know I posted my haves to trade on the 6-28-08 trades thread.... ya'll go and "gitcha" something!!
Well girl's with the cane and the cleats and the foot tripping and all I may just have to get in there too. There are very few times that it pays off to be an extra large size, but here it just may come in handy. LOL
Charlene
I'm posting this in several places. I have a dear friend (daughters MIL) that needs a lift. She is an avid gardener, and from Germany. I have invited her to come with me if she will, and she will probably bring some samples from her garden. I wanted to ask that maybe a few of you trade with her or gift with something little or extra you might have so that she will feel welcome and not left out. She doesn't have lists or anything prepared because it will probably be a one time visit if she comes. Her name is Regina. I know if she comes everyone will welcome her. Thanks all!
Great Karen bring her I know we will have extras to share ...and if it is who I think it is by all means she best come.
Please do bring lots of people that love to garden. Shoot we may be able to learn how they grow their plants in Germany. I'll bring some extra stuff for your friend. I'll probably forget her name but I'll remember she's from Germany so I'll probably write Germany on the side of the plants and stuff to know who it's for. LOL
Please don't trip me, they will have to get a Backhoe or Earth mover to fill in the hole I'll make. LOL
I'll still take all the canna, elephant ears, bananas and brugs I can get my hands on. Anything else anyone wants to share with me would be wonderful.
10 1/2 days and counting to our Round Up!
Happy Gardening, Marian
I'm not very organized, I just keeping begging everyone to bring me some of all of the above that they can share with me and anything else they might have. I have not made very many trades with ya'll because I can't keep up with EVERYTHING....it has something to do with being grey headed I'm sure.
Marian what planting zone is your DD's MIL? What does she like to grow? How much space does she have? Does she need trees, shrubs, little plants or vines? Let us know and I am sure she will leave with a car load.
Charlene
Karen posted over here that she is a cottage gardener and yes I do know her daughter we worked that the same restaurant when I fist got down here. Very nice lady indeed.

LOL!! You ladys are too funny!!
Hey, Charlene, I had asked you in Buffalo for another of your cuculotta, if you have one. You wanted me to remind you.
Hey Charlene, is that Cuculotta anything like a pinecolada? If so I'll take two. Just kidding, I don't drink (any more). But I want one Charlene, whatever it is LOL. I miss out on all the good plants cause all I know about are the same old plants my mother and grandmother grew for years and years.
I was just thinking if all bring whatever they can then everyone should leave pretty happy. I've been trying to come up with some little cheesy things to share. LOL Maybe make some little bags up or something I don't know....
Happy Gardening, Marian
Thank you all for being so kind! It is not 100% certain that she will come, but she probably will. I hope no one will go all out, I just wanted to prepare you that someone extra might show up. She is full blood German indeedy, but lives in Tyler, zone 7b. She is a liscensed massage therapist, so perhaps she will give a backrub or two...hooha! LOL
LOL gee Karen you read my mind I'd gladly give up trades for a good massage any day LOL and I even have one of her cards someplace in my purse so when I can finally get one I can call her.
Heaven ...ya gotta have some fun it takes less muscles to smile then it does to frown and smiling makes people wonder what you are up to...hehehe
I can tell ya from first hand experience Charlene, Becky , Cocoa_lullu, pbtxlady and mamajack are alot of fun........just don't tell becky I try to hid my grey and the sun lightens my light brown hair so it's not a natural blond LOL
;o)) Got ya!
Hey Phyllis... I am lurking tooo... you can't hide nothin from ol beck... lol... but yes we all had a great day at Charlenes central TX RU... this time.. I expect someone to wait on me.. feed me a few toffees..lol.. wipe my sweaty brow.. etc.... you get my drift... hehe I am going to have bunches of fun at this one.. and since I will not be helping the "hostess"... watch out.. I'll be on the prowl.....LOL for plants!!
Hey, Becki, you need your brow wiped? I have this great idea... I'll bring my rat terrier. ROFL!
Patty... yes.. I forgot about that kind of "brow wipe".. lol.. but I have my own "brow wipe".... with yours too.. it would be a "whole body wipe".... I "included" my 2 brow wipers on the head count...LOL they go wherever we go...
Marian and Patti, gotcha on the cuculatta.
Anyone have any daylilies that I don't have I would love a clump of 'em. Tell me whatcha got and I'll tell you if I have it. I probably have one that you don't have for trading with you.
No mama, not you!! I don't have any of the HIGH DOLLAR ones.
Mine are named and very pretty, and fairly reasonable in cost. Most of the nametags, I have lost due to moving and mixing, but some I know the names of since they have bloomed and I identified from my list.
I also want dwarf canna lilies and any kinds of asiatic or tiger lilies or just lilies that will grow in zone 8. I am newly in love with them and know little to nothing about them but I want 'em!!
Charlene
Becki, the wildflowers must have liked you a lot, cuz when mama got here they were very nearly all gone. Treasure yours, cuz I don't think I'll be getting anymore for a while unless yesterdays rain wakes 'em up again.
This morning I had a big surprise! What had been identified for me as being a grape plant bloomed the most beautiful morning glory I have ever seen in my life. It is almost irredescent and is the deepest purple ever. I had been trying to get that morning glory from behind the Kroger store in Orange and I thought I had not succeded. Yeah!! I got it. Just one, though, so no sharing yet.
Charlene
LOL Charlene... glad you got that MG.. but I am not into vines that much.. well maybe cause I don't know that much about them.. might ought to watch me close..when I come visit you again..lol
Ok my friend Regine is definately coming, she's very excited. Phyllis, she's bringing a salad so I'll add it to the food list :)
Hey Becky, the door is always open and the spare bed is ready and if you wanna camp your spot is ready! When you see "this" morning glory, you'll want to have it. It is just that darned pretty!
Charlene
