Oh my what a gorgeous display!!! Whatever do you do with all of them in the winter? I love that you have a different kind in it's own pot really shows them off. I think I need more shade. LOL

agree. pics #3, 4 and 9 are exceptional

Bartlesville, OK(Zone 6a)

well, that's the thing. I have had no success at wintering them over. I tried last year and when I opened their bins to plant, I gagged and gagged and gagged. LOL If you've never smelled a rotten caladium bulb, DON'T!!!

I won't try that again. biLL has plenty and I will just order a new crop from him.

Here's more

Kittymom, You must put a lot of plants in pots, didn't I notice that it was you that posted the Phlox plants in pots? I had very good luck overwintering last years bulbs. I took very good care of them. LOL I just put the pots in the basements and backrooms and stopped watering them, the ones I had in my window boxes just went into paper bags and let lay. But at the price we paid in the co-op is about or less than I pay for annuals so if they survive I figure I'm ahead and if they don't, well it wasn't much of a loss.

Susan,

They look awesome!!! Did I send you the Kathleen?

biLL

Bartlesville, OK(Zone 6a)

I answered this and the post didn't go through. :(

biLL, I got Kathleen from Logee's. I didn't know you had it when I ordered it from them and I had to have that one because my middle name is Kathleen and it was my Mother's name. I would have ordered it you if I had known you had it. sorry

HollyAnn, I already overwinter probably 50+ pots in the house and garage. There is no more room and these are big pots. LOL so for now, I will just buy new ones. Fresh ones are better anyway.

here are a couple of hanging baskets, I have others, but don't have the pictures yet. ^_^

bill, bill what is the name of the one immediately above this post, red with green edge. that is totally awesome

Lake Placid, FL(Zone 9b)

It looks there is two different varieties. The deep red one in the center looks like it's Postman Joyner and the other maybe John Peed.
There are several Reds that look "very, very similar". It's even hard for me to tell the difference sometimes.

nery, if you mean the one in the baskets, it is Florida Sweetheart.

Nery,

Susan's right, those are gorgeous Florida Sweetheart. I was referring to pic 14 for some reason. The FL Sweetheart makes an Outstanding Hanging Basket!!

of the thais, which did you like best? have you decided which ones you will carry again next year?

Lake Placid, FL(Zone 9b)

Nery,

I like all the Thai's. Some of the coloring is incredible!!!
Which ones I carry next year will be determined by the grower I'll be dealing with. I gave him a list of 15 I'd like. That list will probably be narrowed down to about a dozen though. It's a BIG investment and I'm dealing with somebody on the other side of the world that I've never met before so I'm approaching this cautiously. I hope it works out!!

BILL! Your photo's are totally awesome! But, not as awesome as my bed with YOUR caladiums this year! hahahaha! I know I keep taking photo's of the same bed, but every week I go out there, they're just amazing! It was worth every grunt and groan I had planting those bulbs!
