Wow, I planted about a dozen Triumphator this year (but very late). Can't wait to see them blooming now!!

somewhere, PA

OOoooooo Ahhhhhhh... those are glorious Voss!

I finally figured out what you did... writing down where i'm planning to put
the bulbs really helps when the arrive. And is a good tool when I'm trying
to remember what the names are.

Keep on bragging and please... keep on sharing!

WOW! The orange art is BEAUTIFUL!

Greensboro, NC(Zone 7a)

One container of my Triumphator seedlings started blooming. I didn't put any stakes or plant support rings around them so they're a bit on the sloppy drunk looking side but I'm excited just thinking that next season will be even better.

Just one flower on each stem but they're pretty huge.

I work at a WalMart and when we were cleaning out the garden center to turn it into the Christmas Shop last Sept./Oct I found these little green or yellow 2 quart metal watering cans that had 3 bags of 3 different bulbs in each one. They were kids sets and you were supposed to plant all of the bulbs in the watering can and grow them out. Two of the three bags were completely dried out husks but the lilies were still halfway good and even had little baby bulbs that had formed in the bag. They were labeled as Triumphator and there were 3 bulbs per bag. The whole can set rang up for 2 cents so a friend and I bought the 40 or so that were left, threw away the dried out bulbs and split the lilies. I ended up with 30 bulbs, gave 10 to a coworker and potted up the rest, 10 per pot.

Not a bad deal:LOL: 40 cents for 20 Triumphator lilies:LOL:

This is just a container of asiatics Dolly Madison and London that I bought in a co-op last summer. There were some white ones called Endless Love but no sign of them yet.

Thanks:)

Lisbon, IA(Zone 5a)

Very nice! Good score on the Triumphators!! :)

Colleyville, TX(Zone 8a)

Vossner,Triumphator combined with Belinda's dream must be a wonderful sight and incredible scent.
dmac, it's great to find a deal like that at Walmart. Now they have a "colorful " history.

Greensboro, NC(Zone 7a)

Now I want that rose too though:lol: I know I won't find that at "the mart"

I didn't really think that if they bloomed that they really would be Triumphator lilies, ya know? I just knew they were going to be some NOID lily--and I love those too:) got plenty. It was a nice surprise, both the deal and that they were true to name.

Vincentown, NJ(Zone 6b)

Vossner....Love your term "plant ghetto" for that part of the yard or driveway where potted, unplanted, perennials always seem to be hanging out. I keep thinking the plants in mine must be interbreeding and multiplying, as I don't recall buying half of them, but there they are, nonetheless. Meanwhile my dear husband is grumbling about my asking him to dig more perennial beds, but I really do need them! I just recently purchased an arbor, and now there are two climbing roses waiting to be planted alongside it. Is there a name for this gardening sickness? I suspect there are lots of you out there just as impulsive about plant buying, as I seem to be most years.

I do try to keep orders of plants and bulbs filed under "Garden Orders Pending" in my e-mail files. That helps keep me under control (sometimes), as long as I check there prior to ordering more perennials, not to mention all the fall-planted Spring bulbs that will be arriving in October. Sigh...so many plants and bulbs and so little time, but I love it; every moment of it.

Louisville, KY

I think this is the same lily as t he one that started this thread. I really love it.

Another picture of it. I am 6 feet tall. Do I understand that you can germinate seeds from this one?

Lisbon, IA(Zone 5a)

Oh my, what a gorgeous lily!! Do you stake that?

Louisville, KY

No I haven't I was afraid that I would drive the stake into the bulb...so I cut 7 blooms from the bottom of it that were on off shoots. Ticker do you think seeds from this will germinate?

Lisbon, IA(Zone 5a)

Oh, I have no idea about lily seed germination. Pard, Lefty, Wallaby, Mags, Intercessor, or Lilyfan are better qualified to talk to you about that.

It sure is a beautiful lily!! I'd be thrilled to death if one of mine turned out that well. :)

Lincoln, NE(Zone 5b)

Great looking lily timeinabottle. I have a clump, but I don't think they are that tall. Still waiting for mine to bloom.

Lincoln, NE(Zone 5b)

LOL Yehudith has a bad case of lily lust!

Louisville, KY

Well I do love it.....I keep thinking should I scale one of the off shoots or leave it alone. Back and forth back and forth I go I p[robably will but I should leave it alone.

My mom have lilies that tall. Mine are short and the deer ate most of the buds, but I have 2 buds left and one of them opened last week.

Thanks, I realize I don't have enough lilies
OH dear ,I'm in so much trouble.
I do love the Asiatics with their upfacing blooms.
I planted Martagons ,Backhouse from Brent and Beckys and American Meadows had a marrone one, no sign of AM's sprouts and B&B's have just started to sprout.
Heard they take a few years to really get going.

somewhere, PA

Oh you can't ever have enough lilies ge!

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

That's what I'm affraid of. The ones I planted this spring are going to bloom soon.

Here's a photo of my "rose" garden. I had such high hopes for it but have replaced
roses (except for Fairy) every year since I put it in four years ago. But the lilies
just make it. I added some peonies and now I have a "rose, peony & lily" garden.
Viola!

There's a lily that's about the same height as the clematis support.
Maybe 7' tall. (Other side from the perspective of the photo). Can't
wait for it to bloom!

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

Wonderful colors and shapes.
I am planting tall lilies in a part sun-sun area of my shade garden. the front is DL's middle is martagons and the end is Asiatics Double creams fata morgana.pluss transplants from other parts of the yard.
As you can see this is a new garden. The tall lilies are barely up as we are Z6a up near Lake Ontario.
